The festival promises to be an electrifying celebration of heavy metal’s diverse sounds and community spirit. Held at Catton Hall, Derbyshire, the lineup is headlined by three titans of the genre: Trivium, Machine Head, and Gojira. Each will dominate the Ronnie James Dio stage on successive nights, with Gojira’s Sunday performance following their acclaimed appearance at the Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony.

Fans can expect a broad spectrum of metal excellence. The Ronnie James Dio stage features acts like black metal pioneers Emperor, gothic stalwarts Lacuna Coil, and melodic death metal legends The Black Dahlia Murder. Meanwhile, the Sophie Lancaster stage includes a mix of styles with Me and That Man, Static-X, and death metal icons Obituary as headliners​. 

Adding to the experience is a heartfelt tribute to Lemmy Kilmister, with a replica of the late Motörhead frontman’s tour dressing room and a bust containing his ashes at the bar — a poignant homage to a rock icon​.

For those attending Bloodstock 2025, the festival’s big headliners will undoubtedly draw the masses, but the true fans of heavy metal know that the magic often lies in the lesser known. Below the marquee names, hidden treasures can be found, and it’s in these shadowy corners of the lineup that the discerning ear can find revelation.

Consider Emperor, who will perform under Trivium on Friday. This Norwegian black metal legend rarely graces stages, and their set is poised to deliver a spine-chilling blend of brutality and artistry. The tantalising possibility of a live collaboration with Trivium’s Matt Heafy—through his connection to Emperor’s Ihsahn—could make this one of the weekend’s most electrifying moments​. 

Saturday brings the theatrical flare of Creeper, whose punk-horror aesthetic is a rare sight on Bloodstock’s traditionally metal-heavy stages. Expect soaring melodies and dark narratives to infuse the Ronnie James Dio stage with a welcome dose of gothic drama​. 

On the Sophie Lancaster stage, the lineup becomes delightfully eclectic. Me and That Man, the dark Americana project of Behemoth’s Nergal, headlines Thursday night with a brooding set of bluesy laments that contrast sharply with his black-metal roots.

Then there’s Breed 77, whose flamenco-metal fusion on Saturday promises to be as hypnotic as it is heavy. Sunday closes with a rare appearance by the resurrected 3 Inches of Blood, a Canadian band whose galloping riffs and NWOBHM influences have reached near-mythical status​.

Don’t overlook the rising force of All For Metal on Thursday. With their Norse-inspired theatrics and epic anthems, they could well become the surprise darlings of the festival​. 

From the mosh pits to the campsite camaraderie, this isn’t just a festival—it’s a pilgrimage for the heavy music faithful.

The shows will run in support of their latest album “Fortitude“, released in April. The release marks the band’s seventh record and “showcases Gojira’s knack for seamlessly evolving their sound, while staying true to their ferociously heavy sonic aesthetics“. 

The album received lots of praises, with Forbes commented in their review: “You’d be hard pressed to find another metal album that boasts such devastating ‘riffage,’ with an accessibility and production aimed for the masses“.

Kerrang added: “Fortitude sounds like the album that could propel them the rest of the way to the top. They’re no strangers to melodies and hooks, but they’ve never crafted anything quite like this before“. 

“Fortitutes” peaked at No1 in Billboard US Top Hard rock Albums, No1 In Billboard US Top Rock Albums and No12. in Billboard 200. In UK Charts it reached No 6. The album can be streamed and purchased here. 

Two months ago, Gojira shared an official music video for “The Chant”, directed by Russell Brownley. “Filmed on location in India’s West Bengal region in December of 2019, the cinematic video examines the plight of refugee children from Tibet who fled their homeland in an attempt to preserve their culture following China’s invasion of the country in 1949″. After festival organiser, Emily Eavis stated that the remaining bill would be announced “one stage at a time” in the run-up to the Worthy Farm spectacular, the popular Shangri-La area has now unveiled who is on their bill, for June.

Among the names announced were the Idles, who have been confirmed to be making an appearance on the Truth Stage, in a late-night slot. Joining the punk rock band is US rapper, Denzel Curry, who will also perform along with French heavy metal group, Gojira. Joining them on the already electric bill will be The Damned, Craig Charles, and Elvana.

The following names have also been revealed to be joining the already stellar line-up, which include the likes of IDLES and Denzel Curry, and also heading to Worthy Farm, this June is Black Futures, Earache DJs, Employed To Serve, Entombed AD, Gizz Butt (Ex-Prodigy) – Keith Flint Appreciation Hour, Haggard Cat, and Heavy Lungs.

Gizz Butt, former live guitarist for The Prodigy, will perform a tribute DJ set titled ‘Keith Flint Appreciation Hour’, in a set that will honour the late singer, Keith Flint. Joining Butt will be Rob Da Bank and Charlie Sloth – who will be spinning tunes.

In an announcement, released on Wednesday the 1st of May 2019, Glastonbury revealed that the Shangri-La area will take on the theme of ‘JUNKSTAPOSITION: RE-USE – RE-CYCLE – RE-SIST’. The announcement stated: !Shangri-La strives to illuminate progressive culture with great urgency – in the field and beyond.

As well as being available physically, Paradigms will also be available to download digitally. Lead guitarist Steven ‘Rats’ Rahaman says Paradigms is about a multitude of things. “We all individually have a varied taste in music and style so the music we created had a lot of contrast so the name Dichotomy was chosen. The lyrics themselves in Paradigms create a collection of dichotomies. So in a nutshell you could say that Paradigms is about the band name which is about the music.”

The band have cited bands such as Gojira, Death and Opeth as their main influences. MetalIreland.com have said “This band cant really be credited enough on their musicality. They do the genre proud, and indeed they advance it.” According to SoundShooterMusic.com, Dichotomy have formed something “organic and brutal that never fails to deliver in both heaviness and professionalism.”
