Waterhouse is currently touring the UK and Europe in support of her second studio album ‘Memoir Of A Sparklemuffin’, released earlier this year. The record has marked a new chapter in her music career, blending her cinematic alternative-pop style with diaristic songwriting. Midway through her London set, Waterhouse introduced Barât to the stage, drawing loud cheers from the audience. The two shared vocal duties on ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’ with Barât also providing guitar. The single, which originally featured on The Libertines’ self-titled 2004 album, remains one of the band’s most recognisable tracks and a defining song of the mid-2000s indie era.

The collaboration was met with an enthusiastic response, with fans capturing the moment across social media. After the duet, Waterhouse continued her set with a mix of originals and covers, including her regular live rendition of Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’.

Last night’s appearance adds to the ongoing excitement around Waterhouse’s current tour. Following a second sold-out night at the O2 Forum Kentish Town this evening (August 26), she will head to Belfast’s Ulster Hall on Thursday (August 28). Additional European dates are scheduled for early September, with stops in Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin.

For Barât, the guest spot comes ahead of The Libertines’ own busy schedule. The band have currently just completed a run of live shows celebrating the release of their long-awaited new album ‘All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade’. The tour kicks off on Wednesday, August 13th, at Frequency Festival in Austria, before hitting major European festivals, including Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands, Cabaret Vert in France, and Rock En Seine in Paris. UK fans can look forward to Suki’s highly anticipated appearances at the Reading and Leeds Festivals on August 22nd and 24th, before her headline London date. She will also perform in Belfast at the Ulster Hall on August 28th.

These performances will showcase songs from Waterhouse’s critically acclaimed albums, including her 2024 release ‘Memoir of a Sparklemuffin‘, alongside tracks from her debut album ‘I Can’t Let Go‘ and the ‘Milk Teeth‘ EP, featuring her platinum-selling hit ‘Good Looking’.

Suki Waterhouse’s album ‘Memoir of a Sparklemuffin‘ did not produce any singles that charted on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. However, the album itself achieved some recognition, peaking at number 46 on the Official Scottish Albums Chart and number 39 on the Official Albums Sales Chart. The album includes hits such as ‘My Fun’, ‘OMG‘, and ‘To Love‘. ‘My Fun’ made it into MXDWN’s ‘Top 30 Songs of 2024‘.

Waterhouse’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric, with her sold-out 2024 US tour spanning over 30 shows and a high-profile support slot for Taylor Swift during the Eras Tour in London. In a TikTok and YouTube post, Waterhouse gave fans a preview of ‘Dream Woman’ -  a 30 second videoclip that features the disenchanted ‘Moves’ singer yearning on a window ledge, overlooking the dreary NYC skyline. The audio reflects the signature style that we have previously heard from Waterhouse, showcasing dramatic, melancholic minor-key chords, decorated with her ethereal vocals that concentrate on the refrain: “I can be your dream woman.”

‘Dream Woman’ will be the latest release from the London-born singer since her 2024 single ‘Pushing Daisies’, a collaboration with American electro pop artist Ashe. Although active in the music scene since 2016, Waterhouse made real waves in the indie pop sphere following a viral moment of her song ‘Good Looking’ on TikTok in 2022. From that point on, she has continued to experience success amongst a global fan base, launching her sophomore album ‘Memoir of a Sparklemuffin’ in 2024 to positive reviews, receiving 4 stars from The Independent upon release. 

Suki Waterhouse has previously commented on her songwriting process, revealing her main inspiration to be narrative-led, real life stories – a theme fans can expect to hear in ‘Dream Woman’. In previous conversation with NME, the British singer spoke about the creative journey behind ‘Memoir of a Sparklemuffin’, stating: “I’m a memoir gobbler of people’s real-life stories, and I think it’s such a gift when you get to read one…When you’re actually allowed to limped into someone’s soul and their story, it’s my favourite thing ever – it’s the most inspiring thing to me.” She also cited her latest step into motherhood, with partner, actor Robert Pattinson, as having a newfound influence on her music. 

Following the announcement of ‘Dream Woman’, Waterhouse took to TikTok again, February 15, to share her March Shows in Los Angeles. In her interactive approach to social media, the ‘My Fun’ singer teased fans who were asking in the comments about European show dates. In a jokey manner, Waterhouse pretended to announce an upcoming tour, before skipping forward to revealing her three shows at The Roxy. 

Despite no current plans to tour in the UK, Waterhouse is set to perform at this year’s Reading & Leeds festival August 22 & 24. Fans can expect to hear ‘Dream Woman’, as well as her other latest recordings from ‘Memoir of a Sparklemuffin’.

Travis Scott is one of hip-hop’s most influential artists, with hits like ‘Sicko Mode’. Bring Me The Horizon is a British band which blends metalcore with pop and electronic elements. This band frequently headlines major rock festivals like Download Festival and Reading & Leeds (previously in 2018). Their performances are intense, blending metalcore aggression with crowd-pleasing anthems.

Folk and soul meet in Hozier’s poignant music. Known for ‘Take Me to Church’ and ‘Cherry Wine’, his lyrics often delve into themes of love, social justice, and spirituality, delivered with haunting melodies. Hozier has graced stages at Glastonbury and Electric Picnic, captivating audiences with soulful, stripped-back performances that contrast with festival chaos. His 2025 set promises similar intimacy. If you’re following his work closely, it seems Hozier might take occasional quiet periods for songwriting and reflection, but he remains actively engaged with his music and his audience.

The 2024 Reading & Leeds Festival featured six headline acts: Fred again.., Lana Del Rey, Liam Gallagher, Blink-182, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Gerry Cinnamon.

Despite giving birth to her daughter in the past few months, Waterhouse is not slowing down, and has also released a North America tour in support of her new album. Her tour begins shortly after the release of the album, and has support from Bully and Debbi Dawson.

The new mother and partner of Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, has noted the impact that motherhood has had on her and her music, particularly through her new single. ‘Supersad’ personifies Waterhouse’s exhaustion after caring for a newborn whilst simultaneously working on her career that has propelled in recent years, particularly after her song ‘Good Looking’ became popular on Tiktok.

So far this year, the 32 year old has been non-stop releasing singles, gaining her immense popularity and leading to a notable set at Coachella earlier this year, at which she sang the iconic Oasis song ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’. Her latest single, ‘Supersad’ has been a hit amongst fans, and joins ‘Faded’, ‘My Fun’, ‘OMG’ and ‘To Love’ on her new album.

On social media, Waterhouse has displayed her excitement alongside the album cover art, saying it “feels surreal to finally be able to bring this world to you that I’ve been living in for the past year”. The album cover holds an ethereal theme, and its name is inspired by the uniquely named cannabilistic spider, which is colloquially known as ‘sparklemuffin’, which Suki Waterhouse on Tiktok said she decided during a “manic episode” as it felt “hilarious, ridiculous, and wonderful”, which she told Subpop.

When speaking to NME about her new album, Waterhouse said that she channelled her previous experience at V Festival in the early 2000s, saying “I really want to see her and know her again”, naming this album as part of her “bed rot era”.

However the 10 day festival announced some exciting news for fans as they expanded the line up for both the Saturday and Sunday events. The new line-up includes big names old and new including, Suki Waterhouse who has filled our screens big and small over the past year with her role in Daisy Jones and the Six as well as her indie-pop ballads. The singer and actress also welcomed a baby with long term boyfriend Robert Pattinson in March so fans will be thrilled to see her back on the stage. She will be joined by bands such as The Kills, Joy (Anonymous) and Men I Trust.

Alongside them is new kid on the block, Dan Whiltlam who released his debut album Own Mind on May 3rd. Whiltlan is a singer, songwriter, actor and poet who blends palpitating beats reminiscent of rap with the love, loss and sincerity of spoken word. Through his genre bending sound, he hopes to popularise the art and get people talking about the ‘day-to-day issues going on now’ as he told NME earlier this month. Alongside these new additions the festival will host already confirmed sets from artists like the rising Mid-Western indie star, Ethel Cain, who combines nostalgic rock and folk sounds with Southern Gothic themes influenced by the music she was surrounded by throughout her upbringing in her Baptist family in the south. The Tallahasee born singer is genre-bending with her synthesis of hymn-like gospel harmonies, country twangs, classic rock and the more modern euphonies of contemporary bedroom pop. She even incorporates heavy metal sounds into some of her more experimental work which creates a unique disparity from the melancholy, softer sounds found throughout her discography. Cain will perform alongside Mitski, TV Girl and Bebadoobe as well as newly announced acts and others. Besides the two weekends filled with musical brilliance, the festival will also be hosting a jam-packed mid-week activities program called ‘In the Neigbourhood’ which will provide an array of street food, arts and crafts, live entertainment and sports all for free. The track, which marks the first single from Waterhouse’s upcoming sophomore album, was dropped on Thursday, accompanied by a captivating music video directed by Émilie Richard-Froozan. In the video, Waterhouse channels the spirit of legendary French singer Édith Piaf, adorned in a vibrant red gown with drawn-on eyebrows, dancing amidst a lush greenhouse. Notably, the video also offers fans a glimpse of the singer’s growing baby bump.

The vintage-inspired video perfectly complements the track, portraying Waterhouse as a cabaret starlet or an Old Hollywood icon in mourning, traipsing around a greenhouse bursting with flowers, eventually breaking a vase in a cathartic release.

‘OMG,’ co-written by Waterhouse alongside Natalie Findlay and produced by Jules Apollinaire, took shape over a two-month period. Reflecting on the creative process behind the track to Rolling Stone, Waterhouse shared, “It’s such an anxious state when I’m trying to put together a song because you always feel like you are on the edge of something. It’s really about going against the intellect and into the instinct of the song. That’s what I find so fascinating about writing.”

The video release came a week after Waterhouse teased it on Instagram with a playful clip involving an egg, ingeniously revealing the release date. ‘OMG’ follows the success of the artist’s 2023 release, ‘To Love,’ and is expected to be a prominent feature on her forthcoming album, which will follow her debut LP, ‘I Can’t Let Go,’ released in 2022.

Beyond her musical endeavours, 2024 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Suki Waterhouse, who is anticipating the arrival of her first child with fiancé Robert Pattinson.

Speaking to Rolling Stone about the track, Suki shared, “‘To Love’ is a song that I wrote really recently that I was going to wait to put out on my second album. But I felt like it is a very distinct portrait of my heart right now that I wanted to share. I started performing it on tour and got so excited that I wanted to share it with everyone.”

This is Suki’s first release since her EP, Milk Teeth, released in November 2022. The EP featured her most well-received track to date, “Good Looking,” which exploded on TikTok, catapulting Suki to a new level of popularity. The track currently has in excess of 157million streams on Spotify, and pushed Suki into the category of melancholy pop girls amongst contemporaries Lana Del Rey and Phoebe Bridgers.

Suki shared her feelings surrounding her songwriting with NME, saying “I felt incredibly blocked in my own autobiographical memory of who I was or what I could be. Jumping into those anxieties helped me feel free. That’s not to say suddenly everything became super joyous and easy, but I think if you want to stay in that state of creativity, the whole thing is, a lot of the time, it’s not a great place to be at all.”

Suki continued, “That’s what has to be appreciated – the pockets of bliss are small and it’s the muddiness in between and the willpower to jump into the fear [that lead you to them].”

Suki has credited “a delusional confidence” for her ability release her art, saying, “I think it’s something to do with an acknowledgement of fear. It’s when you’re not afraid to show up with the things that you’re afraid of that leads to confidence.”

Speaking on her debut album, Suki said, “I wrote the album in much more of a hurt place, a much more hollow and confused space,” with her newest release, “To Love” seeing her move into a more positive, comfortable realm.

Suki’s relationship with Robert Pattinson has made headlines recently, following their attendance of the 2023 Met Gala together, with many fans viewing “To Love” as an ode to Pattinson, though Suki hasn’t commented on this herself.

In addition to her music releases, Suki recently starred in the Amazon Prime TV adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s popular novel, Daisy Jones and the Six. Suki played a character not too dissimilar from her real life persona, starring as Karen, a keyboard player keen to move up the ranks of the LA music scene in the 1970s.

The cast recorded an album as the titular fictional band, with the original songs written by Blake Mills, who has previously worked with the likes of Fiona Apple and Lana Del Rey.

Speaking on the experience of recording the album with her costars, Suki said, “To get to actually play together so much that you genuinely are a band was very unlike anything I’d ever experienced.”
