In an Instagram post, Cher expressed her emotions about the release, stating: “It’s been a long road to get here. Definitely not an easy one either… There have been many times that I could’ve just thrown the towel in, but I always chose to get back up when I’d been knocked down.” She hopes the song inspires listeners to carry on despite obstacles.

Cher Lloyd is a British singer, songwriter, and rapper who rose to fame as a finalist on The X Factor UK in 2010. Asked about Perrie’s solo sound she said “I couldn’t even pinpoint it, but just know it’s going to blow everyone’s minds.” “There’s so many things that they’re interested in, I couldn’t pinpoint it to one thing. Can you imagine, as someone who’s used to just one thing with them?”

Kamille has been regularly involved with Little Mix over the years and has built up a strong bond with the girls. She went on to say that Perrie was “worried and insecure” about having her vocals on a solo record without the sounds of her fellow bandmates, but Kamille assured fans that Edwards is “incredible. She doesn’t even know how good she is, and that’s one of the most beautiful things about Perrie; she’s so humble.”

Perrie Edwards shot to fame on the reality tv show, The X Factor. She was put into the girl group Little Mix alongside Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall. The group became one of the most successful acts in the history of the show achieving five number-one singles on the UK Singles Chart along with six studio albums, five of which have been certified Platinum. In 2021 they spent 100 combined weeks inside the top ten of the UK Singles Chart and became the first girl group to achieve such a feat.

Since going solo, the girls have maintained support for each other and promised fans that this isn’t the end for Little Mix, only a break. They plan on supporting each other’s solo endeavours until we get a Little Mix comeback. Perrie said “We’ve all said we will let each other know when we’re going to release so we don’t end up clashing in the charts. We’re rooting for each other, not competing against each other.”

In celebration of the group’s decade long career, London’s Madame Tussauds has decided to welcome the band to their ranks of waxworks. The ‘Black Magic’ singers have been involved throughout the whole process and have invested their time into working with the team of artists to ensure that their likeness is captured. This process has involved requirements such as sittings, where the team took accurate measurements of the group. The band were also involved in picking the perfect aesthetics, this entails picking out styling details and homing the specific elements for the final looks. The group and the team at Madame Tussauds have been working hard on the final product since the beginning of last year, ready for the public later this Summer.

Although the attraction has not revealed further details concerning the announcement, they promise for the unveiling to be pleasing to fans. The figurines are to reflect one of the group’s most famous music videos, the waxworks will immortalise the band’s look and aesthetic at the video’s time. The group’s entry into the attraction will also include all four original members, including Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and ex-member Jessy Nelson. Original member Nelson left the group in December 2020, citing her mental health as the reason for her departure.

Thirwall has spoken on the exciting news of the group’s induction into the famed London attraction. “It’s finally happened, Little Mix is at Madame Tussauds London. We’re absolutely buzzing and it’s the best 10 year anniversary present that we could share with our fans.”

Edwards added to the statement, celebrating the complex work completed by the attraction’s team. “The Madame Tussauds London artists are ridiculously talented. Their work is so intricate. They took pictures and notes of every little detail of us – even down to the shape of my nails!” Pinnock also commented on the band’s excitement. “We can’t wait for our fans to see the figures! We hope they love them as much as we do!”

Madame Tussaud’s general manager Tim Waters also released the following statement concerning the announcement, “Little Mix are without a doubt the biggest girl band on the planet. They’ve had a meteoric rise over the last 10 years and we couldn’t think of a better way to mark this milestone anniversary than by giving the fans what they want – the first-ever Little Mix figures! Our artists have loved working with the band on their likenesses and we can’t wait to welcome Mixers through our doors once the figures have been unveiled this summer.”

The ’DNA’ singers rose to fame in 2011 on the UK talent show, The X factor, where the quartet became the first band to win the show. They were then signed by music mogul Simon Cowell to his record label Syco Music after they were declared winners with their song ‘Cannonball’, a cover of the 2003 Damien Rice single. The group then skyrocketed to success and achieved a series of chart successes and accolades. Their most recent studio album, ‘Confetti’ saw the band perform and release material as a trio, the album sired the hit single ‘Sweet Melody’ which became their fifth number-one single.

The British girl group will join the ranks of many other celebrated artists who have been immortalised in wax including Amy Winehouse, Adele as well as fellow girl group singer Cheryl Cole. More details concerning the waxwork’s new figures can be found on the group’s social media accounts.

The release of Naughty List is set to drop this Friday, the day before Payne’s livestream concert ‘The Halloween Special’ is set to air. Tickets for the livestream event are on sale today and will be Act 3 of Payne’s YouTube series ‘The LP Show’.

In December of 2019 Payne released his first debut album as a solo-artist, LP1, which did not receive critical praise. However, off this album Payne released his first Christmas song called All I Want (For Christmas) which joined Strip That Down and Bedroom Floor as successful tracks amongst an unsuccessful album.

Following the release of LP1, Payne collaborated with Alesso on the 6 track EP Midnight, which did see critical acclaim for the 27-year-old artist in 2020. The title track Midnight was released with its accompanying music video in April and rose in the UK charts for the summer season.

Payne’s short solo-career, follow the indefinite hiatus of One Direction back in 2016, saw peak success with the song Strip That Down which held the number 3 seat in the UK Charts in 2017. On this hit track Payne worked with Ed Sheeran who is credited as a cowriter. Sheeran is among big names such as Rita Ora, Zedd, Pharrell Williams and more who Payne has worked with during his solo-stint.

As well as being known as a renowned songwriter, having written over half the songs on the 3rd and 4th One Direction albums, he also works as a producer under the moniker Payno. Payne sits as a director for One Made Productions Limited which has most notably produced the alt-band 5 Seconds of Summer.

Payne has been unable to plan a tour for his first debut album due to safety concerns surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, but as found success performing livestream events for The LP Show. Naughty List will be available this Friday, tickets are online for his upcoming livestream show ‘Halloween Special’ and his album LP1, as well as the EP Midnight, are available on all streaming platforms.

After hinting this morning with an incredible ‘easter egg’ filled video on social media, Little Mix finally were able to tell everything to their fans. They wrote: “We are sooo happy to share this news with you guys…So much love, emotion and energy has gone into the making of this record and now the news is out we can finally get excited about it with you!!”

The album is available to pre-order now, and will include the band’s most recent singles ‘Holiday’ and ‘Break Up Song’. No other tracks have been confirmed, apart from a title track, which is likely to be the next release. After their initial post, Little Mix shared a video clip with music in the background, which their followers are hoping is a teaser for the single ‘Confetti’. The track appears very different from the two songs released so far; it is much slower paced and softer, offering a sensual sound with R&B influence.

This announcement follows yesterday’s performance in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, in which the group played an acoustic version of ‘Holiday’, and an ethereal cover of Harry Styles’ ‘Falling’. The fan reaction was incredible, and they all took to Twitter to show their support.

Little Mix formed in 2011 when the four members all auditioned for The X Factor as soloists and were asked to return as a group. They went on to win and sign to Simon Cowell’s label Syco, releasing five albums before signing with RCA Records. The band have won two Brit Awards and done a lot of work to combat cyber-bullying, support women’s and LGBTQ+ rights, along with supporting many charities and organisations.

After finishing in second place on the X Factor in 2010, Rebecca was excited to begin her new music career. However, she made the decision to take a step back from her career two years ago, following attempts to speak out on racial prejudice and abuse of power from higher ups in the music industry, that fell on deaf ears. She spoke to the Metro about that time, saying; “I felt like doors just got closed for me. I had loads of interviews lined up and I was supposed to talk about these matters and every door got closed.” 

It was her work with Nile Rodgers that re-affirmed her love for music. Speaking to the Metro, Rebecca spoke about how her work with Nile came at a perfect time in her life, and how his positive outlook helped her make the comeback to her career. She explained; “To then meet Nile, who is so positive about everything – because he’s had such a hard life, he’s fought cancer twice and his outlook on life is you only live once – he changed the way I think about life.”

The pair were introduced by a mutual friend, but finally got together at Abbey Road Studios in London, while Rebecca was attending a meeting there. Nile called her into the studio and asked her opinion on a track. She suggested some things that could add to it and just like that he asked her to go into the studio and sing it. She has said how he then said he wanted to produce her work, in the interview with the Metro she said; “I think it was a bit of luck, me being in the right place at the right time.”

Rebecca’s new single Nothing Left But Family, with Nile Rodgers is on all streaming platforms now. The release date for the new album has not been confirmed yet.

The talented artist appeared on ITV’s This Morning on a live video call from LA to share the cover. She spoke to one of the UK’s favourite television duos, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, on why she decided to share her version of the song. She said, ‘I wanted to record a tribute because I’ve been seeing all the amazing work the healthcare workers are doing. Seeing their dedication and seeing how much they’re putting on the line for us really just moved me to record a cover version of this song.’

After a short chat between the three, the programme showed the full video recorded by Lewis as she sings the extremely moving and emotional Angels. The track is accompanied with a video of herself singing from her home studio and is at first surrounded by clips of the band who have helped Lewis perform the cover. As the video goes on, images of healthcare workers wearing masks are shown as a montage in order to share just a handful of the faces who have worked endlessly to help save the lives of thousands across the UK.

Since airing the cover, fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts. Many have been asking if the cover is available to purchase as it just sounds so beautiful, while others are completely overwhelmed and feel emotional listening to it.

Lewis’ angelic voice has not been a stranger to our television screens as she first appeared on the X Factor in 2006. She won the show with her powerful cover of Kelly Clarkson’s A Moment Like This, which became the Christmas number one for that year. She has since released a number of heartfelt and sensational singles, including Bleeding Love, Run, You Are The Reason and even another catchy Christmas song, One More Sleep.

In the statement Tulisa said; “I fully acknowledge the pain I caused & fully accept people should be angry about it. I can state again there was nothing racial in my thought process. When I referred to Misha as being feisty & competitive that was a reflection of myself because I saw myself in Misha.” She continued by saying “However, I totally understand that it made Misha feel a certain way, as a young black girl hearing it from a young white girl on a huge platform, living in the oppressed society we do, full of racial slurs and undertones, not knowing my thought process.”

She defended her actions by stating that when another contestant had come to her crying about Misha’s actions, she went into fight mode and decided to call her out on air. “I ran out there thinking, I’m doing the right thing, I have to call her out.”

Misha B, full name, Misha Byran, spoke out recently on Instagram live about the ‘bully’ label the X Factor painted her with while she was on the show, perpetuating the ‘angry black woman’ narrative. Tulisa called her out live on the air and said she was making mean comments to other contestants backstage, which was swiftly backed up by fellow judge Louis Walsh.

Misha revealed that she was inspired to speak out about this because of the Black Lives Matter Movement, saying “Seeing the continuous mistreatment of my brothers and sisters all around the world has reawakened the PTSD that I have worked tirelessly to uproot and I know I do not stand alone on this.” She spoke honestly about what she describes as the most painful experience of her life; “They saw an opportunity to tear down a black girl that came from a broken home and worked together to sabotage my career by orchestrating lies upon lies.”

However, Misha was not impressed by Tulisa’s statement. In a now deleted tweet, Mischa wrote; “I heard you the first time LOUD AND CLEAR. You can stop shouting now Karen. You and I have zero things in common. Two different kinds of women. My upbringing and yours are totally different. Also the c**ns and uncle Toms you have recruited for damage control can’t save you.” ‘Karen’ is a name used to describe white women who are obnoxious, insufferable and often times racist.

A spokesperson for The X Factor released a statement saying “We are currently looking into this matter and are reaching out to Misha to discuss important issues she has raised. The welfare of contestants is our priority and we are committed to diversity and equality.”

This year marks seven years since the group split in 2013. When speaking about their return, the members agreed that “this is the right time for us to get back on stage and perform in front of our loyal fans”. The fans are most certainly loyal, given the reactions on social media.

But while many are still getting over this initial stage of excitement, some may be wondering which songs they’ll hear if they buy tickets. As is typical of reunion tours, there is no talk of new music, so it can be assumed that all of the fan favourites will be included, complete with dance routines.

So far, there are 15 tour dates, kicking off in Dublin on 12th November and closing in Birmingham on 28th December. Titled ‘Beat Again’ after hit song of 2009, tour tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday 21st February on TicketMaster, but fans can register for early access pre-sale.

Fans don’t seem surprised, given that the artist hadn’t recorded any of her own music since 2018 song ‘Yes’, besides featuring on other artists’ tracks, such as One Bit, Sigma and Steve Void. Teasing the song and music video with the single cover photo and a clip of her modelling her new range of sportswear while the chorus of ‘Like I Love Me’ played in the background, her followers were excited to hear the full song.

Since its release, it has gained over 100,00 streams and views on Spotify and YouTube and, despite not reaching chart level, this song is more personal and of a higher quality than any of her previous work. This is likely due to Johnson’s new found sense of self; as she puts it. ‘Like I Love Me’ follows in the footsteps of many artists, from Madonna to Little Mix, with a message encouraging positive body image and self-love. Singing “Appreciate every mark, every scar, every imperfection” and the title taking from the lyric “Do you love me like I love me?”, Johnson inspires many with her relatability and message which carries over into the video.

Johnson auditioned for the X Factor in 2015 at the age of only 17, receiving a standing ovation for her rendition of ‘Who’s Loving You’ by The Jackson 5. Her talent got her through to final, which she won, going on to sign with Syco Entertainment (Simon Cowell’s record label) and Ministry of Sound. She then went on to work with Clean Bandit and Olly Murs, while also writing four singles, including debut ‘Forever Young’ and hit collaboration with 2 Chainz ‘Yes’.

The artist’s recent work with USA Pro to create a new line of gym clothing was used to promote ‘Like I Love Me’. Currently her only plans for this year involve a show on 26th February 2020 at 100 Wardour Street, where she will perform a set of her original songs. Tickets are available on the venue’s website and on Ticketmaster.
