Elsewhere on social media, other members have posted personal tributes. GZA wrote, ‘We couldn’t have done it without him. Wu wouldn’t have come to fruition without Power. His passing is a profound loss to us all. My deepest condolences to the fam.’

Method Man wrote, ‘Paradise my brother safe travels!’ As well as sharing, ‘I am not ok.’

And Ghostface Killah shared many broken heart emojis with an image of a ‘Power’ logo resembling an angel.

Grant was born in Jamaica in 1973 and grew up in the Park Hill Projects in Staten Island along with the other members of the Wu-Tang Clan. He was given the nickname ‘Power’ amid a game of chess. Childhood friend of RZA’s older brother, Divine, Grant was among the first to sizably invest in the group. He garnered enough funds for the group to record their first single, ‘Protect Ya Neck.’ He went on to executive produce their debut album, ‘Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)’ in 1993.

Further supporting the group, he oversaw the launch of Wu-Wear, the group’s clothing line, in 1995. The Culture Crypt called Wu-Wear ‘amongst the first generation of brands to position rappers as brand leaders—opposed to ambassadors.’ In 2011, Grant told Complex the inspiration to start the brand ‘came from trying to figure out a way to diversify what we was doing, based on the fact that you know, I wasn’t a rapper or a producer or anything like that.’ Initially, Wu-Wear was sent out to fans by mail order. But after achieving success, the brand was stocked in large US department stores like Macy’s and Rich’s (now defunct), as well as sportswear store, d.e.m.o. This resulted in an incredible increase in visibility and cultural awareness for the Wu-Tang Clan. In 2008, Wu-Wear was discontinued and renamed to the Wu-Tang Brand, due to widespread instances of counterfeiting.

Grant is also remembered for his film roles. His first role was in US crime drama, Belly, in 1998. He then went on to act alongside Ben Stiller and Robert Downy, Jr. in Black and White in 1998, a drama set in the world of hip-hop.

The news of Grant’s passing follows the announcement of Wu-Tang’s nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Though Grant, not a performing member of the group, was not on listed on the Hall’s nominee roster.

Grant’s contributions to the group’s success were significant. His passing is felt by fans, who continue to outpour condolences across the group’s and individual members’ posts.

Hip-hop collective Wu-Tang Clan have announced a new run of international shows for 2026, extending what they’ve called “the final chapter” of their touring years. The trek, titled ‘Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber’, will take the group through Europe, the UK, the UAE and Australia next spring, marking what is being framed as their last large-scale world tour together.

The tour begins 2 March 2026 in Amsterdam, before moving through Berlin, Vienna, Bologna, Paris and Zurich. The UK leg arrives mid-March, with dates at London’s O2 Arena on 17 March and Manchester’s Co-op Live on 19 March, followed by a one-off show in Dubai and then a final run of arena dates in Australia, closing in Sydney on 28 March.

Announcing the dates, RZA said: “As we continue adding on to the cypher, The Chamber moves from local to global.” Whether that means this truly is the end is anyone’s guess — Wu-Tang have been writing their mythology for three decades now — but the implication is clear enough: this could be the last time fans get to see the full Clan performing on the same stage outside the US.

For context, Wu-Tang’s influence on hip hop is near impossible to overstate. Formed in Staten Island in the early ’90s, the nine-member collective reshaped rap with raw albums like ‘Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)’ and ‘Wu-Tang Forever’, pioneering a group model that allowed each member to build solo careers while still feeding back into the Wu identity. Now, more than 30 years on, they’re still one of the few hip-hop acts able to sell out arenas worldwide — without relying on nostalgia circuits or guest-loaded tours.

Tickets go on general sale 24 October (local time) via official outlets, with VIP upgrades and merch bundles available under the Final Chamber tour branding. No UK support acts have been announced yet, though previous shows on the US leg featured DJ sets and short guest appearances woven into the set.

Recent shows have leaned into archival material, fan favourites, and deeper cuts, with core members RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, U-God and Cappadonna all still performing. Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s presence remains part of the shows too, honoured through live tributes and projected footage woven into the stage production.

For UK fans, this tour lands somewhere between a celebration and a closing chapter. Wu-Tang have always felt less like a rap group and more like a world — a universe built on karate flicks, Shaolin legends and grimy street philosophy. Whatever comes next, The Final Chamber feels like the moment that world returns to the stage one last time — loud, unfiltered and together.

Wu Tang Clan Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:

GZA has announced the news that the “Liquid Swords” UK tour will be rescheduled until 2022. The legendary artist’s 25th-anniversary tour has been postponed due to COVID restrictions.

The American rapper, actor and songwriter is best known as a founding member of the pioneering hip-hop collective Wu-Tang Clan. The “Liquid Swords” tour is to celebrate 25 years since the release of the artist’s second solo studio album Liquid Swords, the album was released on 7th November 1995 and has remained a vital part of HipHop’s cannon.

The tour was meant to start this March with the original first date at Electric Brixton located in London, the tours initial last performance was to be held in Edinburgh. However, due to the ongoing impact in which COVID-19 has had on live music and social events, the tour will now start in February 2022. Consisting of eight dates, the tour will commence with a set in Brighton on 25th February as well as a newly included performance in Sheffield.

Liquid Swords has been certified platinum and features samples of dialogue taken from the famed martial arts film Shogun Assassin, released in 1980 the film was directed by Robert Houston and David Weisman. The album also features guest appearances from Wu-Tang Clan members and the group’s extended member Killah Priest. Sometimes referred to as The Genius, GZA has remained the eldest member of the Wu-Tang Clan as well as the group’s first member to obtain a record deal. The artist’s original talent is recognised through his individualistic lyrical topics which include philosophical themes, the rapper’s lyrics hold the second-largest vocabulary within HipHop

Wu-Tang Clan consists of nine members including GZA and is known as one of the most influential groups in music. The group comprises of HipHop’s most distinguished artists, RZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta Killa. The collective was formed in 1992 within Staten Island by GZA and his cousin RZA, the group are an essential part of the East Coast Hip Hop style and are regarded as a pioneers within the genre. In 2019 tragic news was announced that the group’s mentor and long-term collaborator Popa Wu had passed away at the age of 63, GZA and other members posted emotional tributes to the artist.

The group’s first studio album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) was released on 9th November 1993 via Loud Records and was produced by RZA. Similar to Liquid Swords, the group’s initial release takes inspiration from two martial arts films, Enter The Dragon and The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, both films acted as inspiration for the album’s title. The album further popularised hardcore Hip Hop within the 1990s and is recognized for leading the way into the East Coast Renaissance, a movement that paved the way for the next generation of East Coast Hip hop rappers such as The Notorious B.I.G and Nas.

The group are also known for their philanthropic acts, last year Wu-Tang Clan released the campaign “A Better Tomorrow” in aid of the charities Ottawa Mission, the Ottawa Food Bank and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. The collection included two products, the printed guide entitled “Protect ya’ neck against Coronavirus” and a hand sanitiser called “Protect ya Hands”.

It has been announced that the original tickets bought for the tour will be valid for the rescheduled dates next year. Full details of the UK tour can be found below.

GZA will be kicking off his tour in Brighton on the 25th of February before going to London, Bristol, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds. GZA has also added a new date in Sheffield. Ticket holders’ original tickets will still stand and tickets for the new date are on sale now.

GZA, real name, Gary E. Grice, is a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan is the oldest and first member to receive a record deal, having begun rapping in 1976. He released his first solo album, Words from the Genius, in 1991 but it didn’t sell much as his label Cold Chillin’ Records, failed to promote it. in an Interview with Select in 1995, GZA recalled: “They put out an album but didn’t promote it. They tried to put it out again last year after everything happened with the Clan, put a ’94 date on it, but still didn’t put any money behind it, so it didn’t sell twice. I’m still proud of it, though”

Wu-Tang Clan is an American hip hop group and collective formed in 1992. The collective was made up originally of rapper-producer RZA and rappers GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa.
