The pop track has undertones reminiscent of Beatles rock and is inspired by lead singer Ryan Hennessy’s past relationship with a ‘Troublemaker’. Speaking to Billboard, he said “‘Troublemaker’ is a song about a love that seems doomed and volatile, but has so much spark and excitement that you just can’t seem to let it go.”

With over 6,000 plays on Spotify in only a few hours, the song is off to a good start. The lyric video was also released today, and gained 1,000 views in the first hour. Following earlier release ‘Winona Ryder’, ‘Troublemaker’ is the second track from the forthcoming studio album which is set to come out later in 2020. This will be the third album from the band, released via Republic Records.

Recently, Picture This joined other bands and artists in the ‘Together At Home’ campaign run by the World Health Organization and Global Citizen. They will continue their collaboration this weekend for the ‘One World: Together At Home’ special, where fans will be able to hear the new track live for the first time.

Picture This band members consist of Ryan Hennessy (vocals), Owen Cardiff (guitar), Cliff Deane (bass), and Jimmy Rainsford (drums). The group became popular in 2015 when Hennessy uploaded a sample of the song ‘Take My Hand’ to Facebook and YouTube, receiving over 4 million views across all platforms. They went on to tour in multiple countries and release two albums ‘Picture This’ and ‘MDRN LV’.

The Irish band have UK tour dates planned for summer 2020 which are currently going ahead, but this is likely to change upon government advice regarding Covid-19. Check out the full dates below and keep updated on their website.

Bringing in the new year with their indie pop sound, Picture This released their new single, ‘Winona Ryder’ on 10/01/2020. The song describes the feeling of falling in love with someone who is not actually a celebrity, but has an air of stardom about them. Lead singer Ryan Hennessy said ” ‘Winona Ryder’ is a celebration of the nervousness and edginess bestowed on you by someone you are in awe of”.

In a light-hearted montage of a high school prom, the video is set in 1995, probably a nod to a big time in Ryder’s career, although sadly the actress does not make an appearance. The video takes us back to the awkwardness of high school, and the feeling that everyone is in an entirely different league. The band are shown to be performing at the prom as couples pair up to dance and have fun. The video gives a whole new meaning to the idea of feeling nervously in awe of someone.

Picture This have 2 studio albums currently out under Republic Records, with their debut going triple-platinum in Ireland, and have received 170 million total streams. The ‘Winona Ryder’ music video has already reach 1 million Spotify streams, with YouTube counting the video views at just over 17,000. The band are excited to be joining the Jonas Brothers, and had a successful first show. Although it has not yet been announced, it is likely that a third album will follow the single.

The Jonas Brothers tour is for their 5th studio album ‘Happiness Begins’, the first to be released since they reunited in 2019. Last year, the band took off on their North America and Mexico tour dates, which ran from August to December. Picture This are not the only special guests; they will be joined by Jordan McGraw, American pop artist.
