Gallagher announced the exciting news yesterday (1st September 2020) on social media. When an avid fan asked Gallagher on Twitter: “Is the album coming out this year or next year LG?” Gallagher responded with “Next year.”

However, fans will not have to wait until 2021 to get their first taste of the record, as Gallagher confirmed that “I’ll give you a little tune this year to cheer you up.”  The full Twitter exchange can be found here.

Unsurprisingly, Gallagher already has some enormous plans for 2021. As well as a new solo album, it was announced on the 1st of September that the former Oasis frontman will headline the 2021 instalment of Reading & Leeds Festival. Gallagher was set to headline R&L 2020, which was solemnly but necessarily cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Gallagher is amongst 5 other mighty headline acts, some of which are the biggest names in British music. Rapper Stormzy, indie rock band Catfish And The Bottlemen, and electronic duo Disclosure will all join Gallagher for R&L 2021.

Singer-songwriter Gallagher has always taken enjoyment in interacting with his fans, so when another fan asked Gallagher “what are u more excited for? Playing in Leeds or realising your third album?” the Mancunian singer playfully replied “both!”

The Wall of Glass hitmaker also took to Instagram to confirm his place at top of the bill at R&L 2021. Gallagher playfully captioned the post with “Yours truly is headlining Reading and Leeds 2021. C’MON YOU KNOW. LG X”. The superstar’s global fanbase were ecstatic at this news, as the post has already received over 70,000 likes. 

In other news, Liam Gallagher has recently confirmed that his free gig for NHS workers has been rescheduled. Originally set to take place in October of this year, the show has been moved to May 2021. Featuring the iconic Primal Scream as a supporting acts, Gallagher organised the free gig as a thank you to all medical workers for their ongoing and unmatched work and care during the coronavirus pandemic.

Liam Gallagher is a living Britpop legend. Born in 1972, Gallagher took the world by storm when he formed one of the best bands in modern music, Oasis, with his brother Noel. Oasis charged onto the scene with Definitely Maybe in 1994, and had the world by its bootstraps for over 15 years, before ultimately splitting up in 2009. 

Since then, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Star has come into his own as a thriving solo artist. With the releases of  As You Were and Why Me?Why Not a gigantic success amongst fans, artists and critics alike, Gallagher has more than proven that he is here to stay. 

So, the Twitter post reads: “Nothing to see here dudes and dollies,”

Noel added: “Silence is still golden… and just in case you weren’t already aware someone still has a new single out. I believe it’s called ‘Once’ which is the exact amount of times it should be played.”

Gallagher further added: “It’s still available in all good record shops but mostly in the shit ones. Happy Sunday.”

A few weeks ago, according to claims from Liam, Noel turned down claims of a £100 million offer to reform Oasis.

Not a bad offer, but again, considering their history, would it be enough to bring the ‘Wonderwall’ outfit back to the studio?

So, Noel replied: “To whoever might be arsed: I am not aware of any offer from anybody for any amount of money to reform the legendary Mancunian Rock’n’Roll group Oasis,”

Last week, Liam accepted the award for Best Music Film at the NME Awards 2020, for his film Liam Gallagher: As It Was, which documented his rise to superstardom. In his acceptance message, Gallagher was accompanied by former Manchester United footballer Eric Cantona.
