Eno, who has long balanced creative projects with social initiatives, helmed the event from its earliest planning. He helped pull together an unusually broad bill, invited designer Es Devlin and Palestinian painter Malak Mattar to develop the stage aesthetic, and worked closely with ‘Choose Love’’ to keep the focus on relief efforts rather than celebrity spectacle.

The line-up showcased established UK names – Damon Albarn, Bastille, PinkPantheress, James Blake, Jamie xx, King Krule, Paloma Faith, Sampha, Greentea Peng – and Palestinian artists including Adnan Joubran, Faraj Suleiman, and Nai Barghouti. Mattar’s work and other Palestinian imagery were celebrated in Devlin’s set, giving the arena a shifting backdrop of traditional imagery, resilience, and displacement.

Tickets, livestream donations, and a run of limited merchandise sold out instantly, helping to push the night’s fundraising total to an estimated £1.5 million for humanitarian aid. Doors opened just after 6.30pm, and the programme alternated between music, poetry, and short addresses from Palestinian speakers. Readings from Mahmoud Darwish sat alongside contemporary stories, giving the evening a purposeful balance between art and testimony.

For Eno, the concert aligns with a career that often merges experimental music with public causes, from ambient installations to campaigns for human rights and climate awareness. “This was about finding a way for art to meet empathy,” he said in a short statement after the show.

Production was understated but precise in delivery: Devlin’s moving set pieces and Mattar’s canvases framed the performers, while lighting shifted between warm tones and stark monochrome to match the flow of performances and speeches.

By the close, Together for Palestine had eclipsed its fundraiser status. It stood as a cultural moment inside the UK’s live-music schedules, positioning Wembley as a gathering place where musicians and audiences directly engage with wider issues while still celebrating the art of performance itself.

A brand new outdoor exhibition – showing iconic photos of Oasis – has been curated by Wembley Park ahead of the band’s upcoming sold out gigs in the capital.

The open-air, free-to-view, exhibition is titled ‘Brothers: Liam and Noel Through the Lens of Kevin Cummins’ and is open to the public to attend at any time.

This exhibit coincides with the Gallagher brothers anticipated return to London as they kick off the first of seven sold out shows at Wembley Stadium this weekend (July 25 and 26), following on from two shows at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and five massive homecoming shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park.

The new outdoor photo exhibition features 20 large-format photographs which were taken by British music photographer Kevin Cummins.

Cummins worked closely with the band throughout the 1990’s and captured some of the most iconic photographs taken of the Britpop legends. Check out examples of his work below.

The specific photos on display – which can be viewed outside Wembley Stadium, the OVO Arena, and along Olympic Way – were all captured in the months leading up to the release of 1994’s ‘Definitely Maybe’, showing the two brothers at their charming best just weeks before being sky-rocketed to the biggest band in the country.

Speaking of this new exhibition, Cummin said: “When the Oasis album, Morning Glory, was released in 1995, we were all living in Oasis world. In every bar, shop, restaurant, football stadium, even the sound floating down the street through open windows, this album was the soundtrack to Britain for at least six months.

“I never thought I’d see anything like it again, but here we are; back in Oasis world again. It’s the most exciting event of the year, and we’re lucky enough to be part of it. The gigs will be great. The mood is great, and I love the idea that those of us who were there first time round, are sharing it with excited younger fans who are seeing the band for the first time.”

Although Cummin took the photos all those years ago, it was the Head of Cultural Programming at Wembley Park, Claudio Giambrone, who curated the exhibition.

Speaking of the inspiration behind the exhibit, Gimabrone said: “We wanted to show a different side to the Gallaghers – not the usual narrative of conflict, but the emotional depth and connection that Kevin captured so clearly. These photographs reveal moments of humour, tension, closeness and trust. We hope the exhibition speaks not just to Oasis fans, but to anyone who understands the beauty and complexity of sibling relationships.”

Oasis will kick off their string of shows at Wembley Stadium this Friday (July 25) as they look to build on the rave reviews they have received so far. NME gave the band’s first show in Cardiff five stars, saying: “After a 90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st century.”

At last nights performance of the Eras tour, Hayley Williams, lead singer of Paramore and close friend of Taylor Swift, joined Swift for a performance of their song ‘Castles Crumbling’. This is the first time the song has ever been played live by both singers, despite Paramore supporting the European leg of the Eras tour.

The collaborative performance came during Swift’s highly anticipated and adored surprise song section of the show, and followed a mashup of ‘thanK you aIMee’ and ‘Mean’, which Swift prefaced by saying, “Every time someone talks sh*t, it makes me work even harder”. You can watch the mashup below.

Williams and Swift met in 2009 at an afterparty after the Grammy’s, and have been life long friends ever since. This guest appearance is not the first time Williams and Swift have performed together, as Williams joined the stage in 2011 at Taylor Swift’s Speak Now tour in London. Thirteen years later, in the same location, they performed together again, and the performance saw Williams wearing a purple, Speak Now inspired dress, alongside lyric writing on her arm, mirroring their past performance and the album. You can watch the performance below.

The collaboration was emotional for both parties, as Swift paused mid song to embrace the moment, and saying “I love you so much” to Williams, and that “I can’t believe she’s ever talked to me once”, with Williams replying, “You’re my longest music friend. Thank you. I love you.”, making this performance a memorable moment of friendship for not only the fans but for Williams and Swift themselves too.

Paramore have been opening for Swift since the beginning of the European leg of the Eras tour, that began in Paris on May 9th, and does not finish until the 20th August. They play a nine song set, that includes some of their greatest hits such as ‘Still Into You’, ‘The Only Exception’ and ‘This Is Why’, however they also include their own surprise songs, and recently performed a cover of ‘Burning Down The House’ by Talking Heads. Before the tour began, NME spoke to Williams who said she was “so ready to be tour-mates” again, and expressed her respect for how “specific and colourful Taylor’s words get without ever losing the universal thread.”.

So far, the two of the three nights Swift is spending at Wembley this month have shaped up to be exciting and star-studded, with her performance on Saturday 22nd being attended by celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Greta Gerwig, Hugh Grant, and her partner Travis Kelce. The night before was equally as exciting, with none other than the Royal Family being in attendance, alongside the feature of what Prince Williams has described as his best “dad dancing”.

Following Swift’s performance on Sunday 23rd June, she moves on to Dublin, and does not return to London until the 15th August, when she will perform for five nights, marking the end of the European Eras tour.

English rock band Blur have released a teaser for their Documentary concert film which will detail the two nights in which they played Wembley Stadium last year with their latest album The Ballad Of Darren. Despite their longstanding popularity throughout the UK, this was the first time the band had played at the stadium, which they sold out all 150,000 seats.

The creators of one of the defining records of Britpop, ‘Parklife’, formed in London in 1988 originally under the name Seymour. They released their ninth studio album, The Ballad Of Darren, in 2023 and it was written by frontman, Damon Albarn, while he was touring with Gorilla in 2022. Before embarking on their two night sold out at Wembley that would become the live album and concert film, Albarn sat down with Consequence to talk about the album.
The band described recording the album as ‘utter joy’ and according to NME, during one of the shows at Wembley last year, “At one point, [frontman Damon] Albarn turns to us and says, “You’re properly mad, you lot, for sticking with us for so long.”

During the gig, Frontman Albran stated that the band had been ‘waiting all their lives for this,’ so what better way to commemorate the moment, than to capture it in its entirety on film so it can be relived for years to come, especially since it was announced in December that the group would be disbanding again after their reconciliation for their latest album.

Alongside the live album release and upcoming concert film, Blur will also release their documentary ‘To The End’. The previously announced feature length film details the band’s reunion and will hit the big screens on the 19th of July, just a week before the live album will be available to stream and buy. The film’s name is taken from the 1994 song To The End which debuted as a single following the release of what is arguably Blur’s most iconic album, ‘Parklife’. However, fans are understandably suspicious of the name choice, anticipating that, though the group have dissolved and reformed a number of times, this will be the final time they will see them united. According to Far Out Magazine Albran spoke to French magazine Les Inrockuptible in December of last year, noting that “It is time to wrap up this campaign [Blur]. It’s too much for me…I’m not saying I won’t do it again, it was a beautiful success, but I’m not dwelling on the past,”.

The album will hit steaming sites on the 26th of July and you can also pre-order a physical CD or vinyl variants of the live album from the link here, while the concert film will land in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on Friday, 6 September so fans will have to wait a little while longer. You can watch the full teaser trailer for the ‘Live at Wembley Stadium’ below.

Enter Shikari have just completed a monumental UK arena tour, with the last show of their Great Britain leg taking place at the iconic Wembley Arena in London last night (February 17th). Whilst on stage in front of thousands of fans, lead singer Rou Reynolds took the opportunity to express his lament for the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as the band’s solidarity with Palestine.

The St Albans based band started their captivating speech by stating: “We cannot just enjoy this moment without acknowledging the fact that there are children being blown to pieces by a government and a country that has been completely lost in nationalistic and religious fervour.”

Continuing to express his support of Palestine, Reynolds said: “with the activists and actionists up and down the country who have been blocking and targeting the Israeli weapons manufacturing factories. Our country is very complicit in this atrocity, and supports those who are targeting the investment banks that are effectively bankrolling genocide. We have been yelling ‘Free Gaza’, ‘Free Palestine’ for 15 years. I just hope to God that there is still a Gaza and a Palestine left when this fucking nightmare ends. So let us be grateful for tonight, we have safety. We have community, we have love, we have human connection. Let us treasure this feeling that we all have tonight.”

The current death toll of Palestinians in Gaza stands at 28,775, with around 1,410 Israelis killed and around 100 Israeli hostages still remaining in Hamas captivity after the October 7 attacks. Israel is currently being urged by many Palestinian supporters not to send ground forces into Rafah on the Egyptian border, where many of the strip’s citizens are now living after areas closer to their homes became engulfed by fighting. Around 1.5million people are living in Rafah, among fears that there are few to no other places for Palestinians to seek refuge. The BBC reported “tens of thousands” gathered in London yesterday for pro-Palestine rallies.

This is not the first time the British rockers have spoken out about the horrors of war and their distaste for modern day worldwide conflicts. Their 2012 song Stalemate depicts this, with lyrics such as “Money is made when bombs are dropping in Afghanistan, and when phosphorous falls in Palestine.” The four-piece also signed an open letter for ceasefire in November of last year, alongside other artists such as Architects and The Last Dinner Party.

Classic indie-rock band The Libertines are getting back together for a series of shows celebrating the twentieth anniversary of their debut album, Up the Bracket. Having already announced gigs in Edinburgh, Hatfield, Manchester and Cardiff, there’s one more for your diaries now.

The OVO Arena in Wembley will be greeting the band for this special occasion, with them set to play the album in its entirety alongside a number of other “classic” songs. And there’s also going to be some “very special guests“, though who they are only time will tell.

We’re going to Wembley. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am x#UPTHEBRACKET20 pic.twitter.com/RR1BDAUWl7

The band have been on a bit of a touring high as of recent. They’d only just finished their Giddy Up A Ding-Dong Tour last month in Kentish Town’s O2 Forum, and they’ll be giving their European fans a chance to see them live over October and November.

It’s all rather good news considering the delays in their recording output. A follow-up to their 2015 album Anthems for Doomed Youth (only their third studio release in twenty years) has yet to come. Back in 2020, band member Carl Barât talked about the difficulties recording it: “It’s been going well, but it’s been difficult with COVID …. John [Hassall, bass] is in Denmark and Pete [Doherty] is in France. It’s been a fucker to travel …. We’re just waiting to get back and lay stuff down, it’s just a matter of when.”

Despite the difficulties here, band member Pete Doherty has been a bit luckier in terms of finished work, what with his collaborations with French musician Frédéric Lo. The two have been working on a new album in Paris and Normandy, which is to be titled The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime (more of which you can read about here). Written whilst Doherty was getting sober before the pandemic, it seems to have paid off with a release set for March 18th. Broadway World describes it as Doherty’s “finest work to date“.
If you fancy reliving your noughties hey-day with the people that made it happen, tickets for the newly announced gig will be on sale this Friday from 9 am, and can be accessed from this link.
Representatives for Wembley Stadium have announced that every live concert at the stadium will now offer sign language starting from June 2022. The London music and sports stadium announced yesterday (October 19) that it will become the UK’s biggest venue to offer British Sign Language (BSL) as a guaranteed service at every live concert.

This was a service that was previously only available on certain days or if pre-booked, the newly announced scheme will now guarantee the availability of BSL interpretation which will be provided by Performance Interpreting Ltd and is a significant enhancement in the provision for Deaf consumers. They even accompanied the news with a signed and subtitled video announcement which you can view below.

The service will officially begin in the aforementioned month when singer Ed Sheeran will bring his ‘+ – = ÷ x’ tour to London in June 2022, and continue thereafter for all following touring acts performing at the stadium.

On a statement on the official Wembley Stadium website Paul Smyth, head of event operations at Wembley Stadium, said. “We are delighted to be able to offer British Sign Language for our customers at every concert moving forward. We pride ourselves not only on being an inclusive stadium to be enjoyed by all but also for leading the way in terms of best practices within the industry”.

He then continued “I’d particularly like to thank our customer engagement manager and disability liaison officer Matt Owen and our partners at Performance Interpreting for working together to bring this ground-breaking service to our venue. We look forward to hosting our Deaf customers at future gigs and hope that they feel the benefit of this vital service at Wembley Stadium.”

Marie Pascall, the founder of Performance Interpreting Ltd, also added: “We are elated at Wembley Stadium’s decision to provide British Sign Language access for Deaf BSL customers for every show. This will enable thousands of Deaf customers to attend music events on any given date. Wembley continues to be a beacon of best practice and this is a huge step in the right direction. We hope other venues will value their Deaf customers and appreciate access in the same way.”

One Direction fans couldn’t believe their eyes when Capital FM posted an announcement on Twitter saying that Britain’s favourite boyband would make an appearance at this year’s Capital Summertime Ball. Not only was the festival supposed to be cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, One Direction also announced their hiatus in 2015 and haven’t been performing together ever since. In the tweet made on May 6 the radio station revealed that the annual event would still take place – only from home instead of Wembley Stadium, in a virtual show on May 16 at 5PM UK time.

Fans were freaking out when they discovered one special name in the line-up: One Direction were listed next to artists such as Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Little Mix and Shawn Mendes. But don’t get your hopes up too soon, reading the tweet carefully shows that the band is not actually reuniting from home. Instead, the radio station will show best-of performances that were made during the past eleven years at the Summertime Ball. One Direction performed at the Summertime Ball in 2015 before they went on hiatus, so we can expect a screening of what seems to be one of their last group performances.

Other artists that are mentioned in this classic performance line-up include the Jonas Brothers, Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Coldplay and Katy Perry. “There’s something so special about Capital’s Summertime Ball – the fans, the amazing atmosphere as 80,000 listeners party along to their favourite artists on a summer’s day, and of course the incredible performances from the world’s biggest stars”, Capital Breakfast’s Roman Kemp said. “We hope you’ll all join us from home as we relive the best of Capital’s Summertime Ball live – it’s going to be an incredible show celebrating 11 years of the most iconic moments from the U.K.’s biggest summer party.”

This year’s Capital Summertime Ball was originally supposed to take place on the sixth of June but will now be streamed online May 16 on Capital FM radio as well as the Capital Youtube channel, Global Player and Sky One and will last for about two hours.

Little Mix will be starring in #BestOfCapitalSTB that’ll air on Saturday 16th May at 5pm UK Time!

It‘ll be a throwback to their iconic performances at the summertime ball!
Tickets for the rapper’s show at Wembley Stadium on July 11th went on sale this morning very briefly before selling out completely. The second date, announced for the following day (July 12th), has already seen a significant portion of tickets sold despite not being announced until after tickets for the first performance had already sold out.

When speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe earlier this week, the rapper announced that he is not currently looking to do lengthy tours. Instead, he is hoping to focus on selling out big arena shows as “right now, that’s working for [him]”.

It has been less than a year since Eminem came to the UK to perform at Reading & Leeds Festival 2013, meaning that his fans in the UK won’t have had too long to wait before getting another opportunity to see him perform live.

To see if you can get your hands on tickets, try the Ticketmaster website.
