Vistas just released their latest single, ‘Dayglow,’ this past week (25 May). It is the third single they’ve released from their upcoming second album, ‘What Were You Hoping to Find,’ following ‘Start Again’ (30 March) and ‘Stuck in Your Head’ (27 April). And true to form, it’s a lively alt-pop song that somehow reminds one of days’ past, reminiscing about youth while still experiencing some of those youthful days.

In chatting with Far Out, lead singer Prentice Robertson talks about how the single came about from trying to have an optimistic outlook on lockdown: “At that time, I would often daydream about things I wanted to do when lockdown ended and I found that was a good way for me to deal with what was happening. It made me miss those lost nights with my favourite people but also made me optimistic that they would happen again and that’s what helped pull me through.”

‘dayglow’ out now! the newest single from our second album ‘what were you hoping to find’ is out now! we love it loads and hope you do too. here’s some film photos we took in london last month

And it seems the current pandemic has been a driving force behind the entire album; the Scottish band shares that the concept for it is based around the feeling of uncertainty and maybe not having the answers, but showing that just asking the questions is enough. They also were able to pen the album relatively quickly thanks to all of the unexpected free time. According to Dork, Robertson explains, “I guess the pandemic probably nudged that forward by giving us time to focus more on writing. It’s also difficult for bands to do much else than write, record and release music during this period of time and we wanted people to have some new tunes to look forward to when we eventually get back to gigging safely.”

The indie rock band had originally scheduled a slew of UK gigs scheduled for November and December of 2020, and after two postponements, the tour is now rescheduled to September and December of 2021. They will be playing songs from their debut album, ‘Everything Changes in the End,’ which reached 21 on UK charts and no. 1 on the UK’s Independent Albums Charts. And now that there’s been a bit more time than originally planned, attendees will likely get to hear ‘Dayglow’ live and other songs from their second album, which will be out on 20 August. You can purchase tickets for their tour here and listen to ‘Dayglow’ below.

The Edinburgh-based band, made up of vocalist Prentice Robertson, guitarist Dylan Rush and bassist Jamie Law, originally formed whilst at school. Their debut album, Everything Changes in the End, hit number 21 on the UK Albums Chart, and was nominated for the 2020 SAY Award. Gigwise writer Grace Almond describes the band as “ …part of a new generation of indie-pop bands carving out a solid place in the guitar scene for fans of happier, more pop-focused music.”

The record’s title is, of course, named after Vistas’ debut album ‘Everything Changes in the End’, which was shared earlier this year. The band talked through the album track by track, describing the title song as a song “about being there for your friends and realising that stuff might not be great at the moment, but hopefully in time will work itself out. Essentially it’s the message that we wanted to put throughout the whole record, so that’s why it’s the opening and title-track.”

Most recently, on 25th August, Vistas put out a new single ‘Stranger’, which has already gained over 4,000 streams on YouTube. To premiere the song, frontman Prentice Robertson ran an Instagram live-stream in which he played some acoustic songs and answered questions. His fellow members are Dylan Rush (guitar) and Jamie Law (bass).

The band formed at school in Scotland before releasing their debut single ‘Calm’ in 2018. Since then, their fanbase has been steadily growing with each new release, and their album reached number 2 on the Scottish Albums Chart, and number 21 on the UK Albums Chart. Vistas will be embarking on a 2021 tour which was rescheduled from this year.

Scottish indie newcomer Vistas has finally shared their very first full-length dubbed ‘Everything Changes in the End‘. Available now for streaming on every platform, as well as digital and physical copies on their official site, the album contains 13 tracks, including singles “15 Years“, “Summer“, and “Sucker“. A music video for the title track will be premiered alongside the LP release today too.

Vistas is on their path of becoming Scotland’s next big thing. Signed to Retrospect Records, the three-piece is constantly on the road to build up the stardom in the indie scene with appearances at many big music events with the likes of Neighbourhood Festival, the Leeds & Reading Music Festival, and Twisterella Festival.

The trio has released a streak of anthemic indie bangers since 2016, leading to the ‘Hello‘ EP in 2019, which attracted many indie enthusiasts with tracks like “Eighteen” and “Fade“. Until late 2019, with the help of beloved indie fellow Circa Waves’s frontman Kieran Shudall, the band came up with a lead single for their debut LP called “Teenage Blues“.

After teasing the release of their first studio record back in January, the Scottish rookie is ready to make a proper introduction to the music scene with ‘Everything Changes in the End‘. It comprises one intro and twelve thunderous tunes back-to-back about the transition of teenage to adulthood that give us the nostalgic moments when The Strokes and other teenage rebellious rock band broke out.

Bassist Jamie Law talked with Dork about his life in quarantine and detailed more about the band’s album. “The album is about being there for your mates and the transition from teenage life to adulthood. These feel more relevant than ever. No matter how long this all lasts for, better days are to come.
Vistas is a new three-piece indie band based in Scotland. The band consists of vocalist Prentice Robertson, guitarist Dylan Rush and bassist Jamie Law. The three lads first released music back in 2016 with stand-alone singles “Medicine” and “Sign Language”.

Following those two singles, they continued to release a series of singles in 2017, two of which were “Retrospect” and “Tigerblood”. The tracks spawned the band with increasing recognition thanks to its anthemic and uplifting sound that well balances between pop and rock vibes. Vistas’ music has now gained over 30 million streams across the streaming platforms.

In 2019, the group unleashed their first EP simply titled Hello as a proper introduction of their music. The EP is made of four brilliant tracks filled with thunderous melodies and hitting-hard hooks. All four tracks have been listened over a million times on Spotify.

This year, this Scotland’s next big thing will embark on a bigger venture. They will drop their very first full-length LP in May. Everything Changes in the End includes twelve tracks plus one intro, with “Teenage Blues” and “Sucker” as the recent cuts from the album.

Regarding the second single “Sucker”, lead singer Prentice Robertson shared with Ones to Watch about the meaning behind this song: “”Sucker” is a track about being completely head over heels in love with someone and recognizing all the senseless things people do in order to maintain the love they feel. The intention of the song is to show that, at times, everyone can do daft things when they’ve fallen for someone.”

Surprisingly, the two tracks from 2017’s release—”Retrospect” and “Tigerblood”—are included in the tracklist, whereas none of the Hello EP has made the cut. Check out the tracklist below.

Everything Changes in the End tracklist
1. “Intro”
2. “Everything Changes in the End”

In addition to the album announcement, Vistas is also preparing for a new tour set to kick off when the album drops. Starting from May 28 in Bristol, the band will play a show in support of their upcoming music. As they said on their social media accounts, this forthcoming tour will be their biggest headlining shows ever. The entire tour includes seven dates across the UK. Tickets will go on general sale on January 31, and fans can go to their official site to sign up for pre-sale and pre-order the album which comes with a tour bundle.

Emerging indie band from Scotland Vistas has recently shared a new single “Sucker” from their upcoming debut album. The track came not so long after “Teenage Blues”, the very first preview of the trio’s first record.

Vistas is gearing up to be the Scottish next big thing in the indie scene. The three-piece rocker released the first EP titled Hello in July 2019. The EP consists of four tracks, all of which have gained over one million streams on Spotify.

Regarding their new single “Sucker”, the band’s frontman Prentice gave out some backgrounds of the track: “Sucker is a track about being completely head over heels in love with someone and recognising all the senseless things people do in order to maintain the love they feel. The intention of the song is to show that, at times, everyone can do daft things when they’ve fallen for someone.”

In April, Vistas will also open for Circa Waves’ new tour for their fourth studio album Sad Happy. Their supporting act will take place only at Circa Waves’ show in London on April 3. Apart from doing a show together, both Vistas and Circa Waves did a collaboration on the track “Teenage Blues”. The song is co-written with Kieran Shudall, the lead singer of Circa Waves.

The Edinburgh band confirmed the release of the first full-length record later this year. More details will be updated here. “Sucker” and “Teenage Blues” are available now everywhere.

Scottish rock band Vistas has released their new single “Teenage Blues”. The track is the first look into their debut album aimed to be out sometime next year. The band will also open for Circa Waves’ UK tour next year.

Vistas, a three-piece indie rock band from Scotland, is the next big act to keep an eye on. Recently, the band has released a new single titled “Teenage Blues”, a track co-written with Circa Waves’ Kieran Shudall that talks about “the transition from your teenage years into adulthood,” says the frontman Prentice Robertson.

“These are all problems that weigh on the mind of people trying to take the next steps in their lives, and the chorus addresses this. The chorus answers the fear of the changes by showing that there is a constant within them saying: ‘I will always be there'”.

“Teenage Blues” is reportedly the first single off Vistas’ first full-length album that is set for the next year’s release. Earlier this year, the three Scottish lads released Hello, a debut four-track EP including “Like an American”, “Eighteen”, “Headspace”, and “Fade”. Every song on the EP is filled with thunderous guitar and bass sounds mixed with synths and pop-banger hooks. All songs have been streamed over a million times on Spotify, making the band become a rising star aiming for the bright future in the UK music scene.

Last October, Prentice (vocals and guitar), Jamie (bass), and Dylan (guitar) embarked on the UK tour, including sold-out headlining shows in Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, and London. Next year, the guitar-pop band will go on the road again, but this time, they will support the shows for Circa Waves that will release their fourth studio album Sad Happy in March. It is the second time Vistas opened a show for the Liverpool rock band; the first time was back in May 2018 in Newcastle.

As Vistas is building their prospect to be the next big thing in the music scene, it is high time to check out their music. Keep up with the band on their social media: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Also, check out the tour dates of Circa Waves’ upcoming tour where Vistas is the support act at O2 Academy Brixton, London on April 3.
