Speaking concerning her upcoming concert, PinkPantheress expresses excitement to partner her music with the gaming world, “I’m so glad I got to do a performance for the Roblox and BRITs families, As someone that loves video games and escaping into my own virtual world, I’m hoping I took everyone on an experience.”

The 2022 Brit awards have also partnered with metaverse developer Dubit to provide further digital elements for fans to interact with. The Brits new virtual world also includes scavenger hunts, Brit Award statuettes to be collected and a browsing platform for merch. For the first time in the award’s history, a digital VIP party will be made available through their partnership with Roblox and Dubit. From yesterday until 13th February 2022 nominees and honourees will be available for virtual meet and greets with fans. Within the metaverse stage, highlights will be shown today from the ceremony held last night at London’s O2 Arena.

Luke Ferrar, Innovation Director, Polydor Records and Co-Chair of the BRITs Digital committee has provided the following statement regarding the new partnership, “When planning the BRITs 2022 digital campaign we knew we wanted to enter the metaverse with Roblox. What Dubit has built within the Roblox platform is an immersive BRITs experience. It has far surpassed our expectations with wonderful detail and flourishes in the world. It’s fantastic to have PinkPantheress, who reaches a huge Gen Z audience, perform in it. Very proud to have the BRITs enter this space in this way for the first time.”

The first broadcast of PinkPantheress’ virtual concert comes a week after the premiere of David Guetta’s performance within the platform. The superstar DJ’s avatar played a 45-minute set which premiered on 4th February 2022, Guetta has spoken on the unique shows, “Working on this concert has allowed me to bring an amazing new creation to life with design and production to suit the virtual world, We’ve built something that will play host to one of the most unique shows I’ve ever done and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it with me.”

PinkPantheress is set to appear at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival. On Friday 26th August 2022, the 21-year-old singer will perform alongside headlining acts Dave and Megan Thee Stallion. The singer will perform at the Leeds site on Saturday 27th August 2022, featuring the same headlining acts as seen in Reading.

Band members Sarah Corcoran and Pamela Connolly joined Corden remotely for an interview. The four-piece band then performed Liffey from their new album In Waiting, which was nominated for an RTÉ Choice Music Prize last week.

In the interview, where James Corden referred to them as “an outrageously talented rock band” the band was asked about the pressure of releasing an album during a pandemic, Sarah replied saying; “It’s a strange time to release an album, but we released it ourselves, did all the mail orders ourselves, so it was a really exciting time, and all the feedback has been really positive. Hopefully, when we can get back out and gigging, it’ll have been worth the wait.”

The band also revealed their secret to keeping motivated as they recorded In Waiting in Donegal in late November 2019. The band jumped into the Atlantic together, to “take the cobwebs off.” Pamela commented on the experience saying; “It worked, I think – the album sounds great, it got our juices flowing. I lost my swimming togs, though.”

This comes following the band’s decision to reschedule their Irish tour. The tour was meant to take place in February and March of 2021 but because of the ongoing global health crisis, the band made the decision to move the dates to August and September. The band’s UK dates are still scheduled to go ahead at the moment.

In speaking about his latest chart success, Andrea Bocelli says to The Daily Express, “I am extremely touched to learn that people have responded so positively to my new album, which of course is a deeply personal project for me. Music is a universal language and gives us the ability to connect with one another in a way that is quite profound. ” The album which was co produced by Steven Mercurio and Haydn Bendall, also features a previously unreleased track by famous Italian composer Ennino Morricone. As well as the duets on the album, Bocelli also composed new versions of, ‘Ave Maria,’ ‘Amazing Grace,’ and ‘Padre Nostro.’

Billboard have reported Bocelli to of said about the album, “The concept behind Believe is based on three words: faith, hope and charity. “These are the three theological virtues of Christianity, yet – quite independently of any religious belief – they are also the three extraordinary keys to giving meaning and completeness to the lives of every one of us.” Bocelli believes that music is good for the soul and keeps us connected regardless of someone’s individual belief. UDiscoverMusic.com have reported him to of said, “Good music brings with it a powerful message of peace and fellowship, teaching us about beauty, and helping us to open our hearts and minds.”

It is not the first time that the talented classical singer has broken chart records. His 1997 compilation album, ‘Romanza’ is one of the biggest selling albums of all time. ‘Sacred Aria’s’ release two years later, became the highest selling classical album in history. His album ‘Si’ topped the US and UK charts reaching Number 1 in both. Andrea Bocelli is recognised globally as a classical superstar. As well as performing at international events such as the Olympic games and the World Cup, Bocelli has sold out arenas around the world. His success has earned him 7 classical BRIT Awards, 7 World Music Awards, A Golden Globe and a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame.

Bocelli has also recently announced that he will be doing a special global ticket live stream event, ‘Believe In Christmas’ which will take place on December 12th from the ‘Teatro Regio di Parma’ opera house in Italy. The event will feature special guests and will be streamed around the world, time-zoned to the different regions. His previous virtual streaming performance at Easter, ‘Music For Hope,’ gained over 28 million views across the globe in the first 24 hours. As well as the international star performances, the line-up from homegrown stars will include  Sia, Tame Impala, Lime Cordiale, Sampa The Great, Amy Shark and Archie Roach, who will be given the ‘ARIA Hall of Fame’ award on the evening.

In 2019, Billie had the highest selling album with, ‘When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ which earnt her a double platinum selling status in the ARIA chart, along with seven singles in the Top 5 of the charts. According to ARIA, her streams top 1.27 billion in Australia.

Speaking to Radio 1 about the follow up to her record breaking 2019 album, The List noted Billie to of said, “It’s my favourite piece of art work ever. It’s been very pleasant and satisfying and I’m so excited for people to hear this album.”  Her latest music was recorded in lockdown with her brother Finneas, which allegedly she has her mother to thank, for encouraging their creativity.

The List reported Billie to of said, “A month into quarantine we were completely uninspired. My mum was like, ‘What if you guys made a schedule? Just like three days a week, making sure you have time put aside so you can work’. And we did it, and on the first day we wrote ‘my future’. The first day. We made more than we’ve ever made in one period.”

Having won four Grammy’s, three BRIT Awards, an Oscar and a Golden Globe award, Sam Smith has also become a huge star in Australia. His album ‘In The Lonely Hour’ hit Number 1 in the ARIA charts in 2015 and collectively, his albums have peaked in the Top 3 of the charts. MSN.com have reported him to of said, “Australia has always held such a special place in my heart, and I am so honoured to be a part of this year’s ARIA Awards.”

Sam recently released his third album ‘Love Goes’ based on his recent breakdown in his relationship, which due to the pandemic was released six months later than originally planned. He said to NME, “I am sorry it’s taken a while,  but these unprecedented times gave me the room and space to fall in love with these songs all over again… After it all, I still believe love is the answer. And with love in our hearts and kindness in our words and actions, we sing on.”

The ARIA awards will take place at The Star Event Centre in Sydney for it’s 34th edition on 25th November. Due to an ongoing partnership, YouTube will be streaming the performances and Nine Network will be broadcasting the show on their free network across Australia.

It’s a weird thing to be playing a show to an empty room, regardless of the size or esteem of it. Maybe even more so because of that. But hopefully with you there we can get back some kind of ghost of that feeling, even if it’s not quite the same. The interactive event on the MelodyVR app will allow fans to watch the performance from multiple angles which will enhance the audience experience we are lacking during the COVID-19 global health crisis. Fans will be able to view the show on smartphones and VR headsets. The show will be available to watch across the UK, USA, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Fontaines D.C will be returning to the O2 Academy Brixton, which is where they played their biggest sold-out London headline show to date. Speaking about the event the band said in a press release; “Brixton was one of the last places we played to an audience and it was a really special show for us. It’s a weird thing to be playing a show to an empty room, regardless of the size or esteem of it. Maybe even more so because of that. This news comes after Fontaines D.C released their second album A Hero’s Death in July of this year and debuted at #2 in the UK charts. The Irish band are set to play tracks from this album and from their breakthrough debut Dogrel.

Arlo opened the performance with her latest single, Hurt, followed by her songs Cola, Eugene and Black Dog. She also took time to talk to the viewers to explain the meaning of each song and how they make her feel and how that may have changed over lockdown. The insight she provides into her song writing makes the audience feel even more connected her as an artist as well as the music.

Arlo spoke about lockdown as a whole saying; “I feel like quarantine, for me, has been an exercise in introspection, in growth, in healing.” She also talked about her song Black Dog, which she released over lockdown and about how the song is about mental health in a time where everyone feels lost, she said; “In times like these, it’s very important to take care of our heads and set up boundaries and surround ourselves with people who recognise our needs as valid.”

Viewers really took to Arlo’s performance, many left comments on the YouTube video, one fan said; “Arlo has been my lockdown discovery. Absolutely lovely to hear these songs this pure.” Another added; “I already KNOW this is incredible, 30s in. thank you tiny desk for introducing me to new artists.”

We Out Here Festival was started only last year by music industry legend Giles Peterson. A successful broadcaster, DJ and record label owner, there is not much that Peterson hasn’t tried his hand at. His music taste is global and various but he has a particular interest in jazz, hip-hop and soul. Now he can add virtual festival co-ordinator to his list of achievements! Peterson’s independent record label, Brownswood Recordings, showcases talented underground musicians from all over the world, many of whom are on the bill this weekend. We Out Here already has an impressive reputation, hailed as a lively celebration of the ‘UK’s grassroots jazz scene‘ that isn’t limited to live performances.

Peterson definitely wants his audiences to have a good time: the Evening Standard describes him ‘bounc[ing] around‘ the festival grounds last year spreading joy. But he is also keen for his festival-goers to engage in the more intellectual and serious side of music. Last year there were talks from musicians such as Saxophonist Gary Bartz and creative workshops to attend. This year there will be a talk on Sunday evening entitled ‘Politics of Joy on the Dance Floor‘ and also one on ‘Cross Cultural Collaboration‘. Additionally, there will be plenty of workshops such as an online music production class for young people aged 9-18.

We Out Here is not the only festival that has made the decision to go digital this summer. Tomorrowland paved the way back in July with a virtual weekend that was met with positive reviews; one drawback mentioned however was occasional difficulties with sound and loading. Hopefully technical difficulties will be kept to a minimum this weekend so that we can enjoy the likes of Dele Sosemi and Amahla without having to unplug the router!
