Twenty One Pilots released the incredible comeback single for ‘Overcompensate’ a few weeks ago, and they have since revealed that there is a lot more to come.

The duo’s latest album (Clancy), which will feature 13 songs, is due out on the 17th of May on Fueled By Ramen, bringing Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun back into the world of Trench. There will be plenty to unpack, and as such, frontman Tyler has confirmed that each track on the record will be getting a proper music video.

Taking to social media to confirm their plans, Tyler revealed that the band have already finished eight videos with a further seven still in the works. While this adds up to 15 videos in total, the singer explained that one of the videos has two versions and the other he doesn’t like, “so we’re reshooting”.

It must be said that not every video will be as detailed and cinematic as Overcompensate, though – “Some of them are lower budget DIY types,” Tyler adds. And drummer Josh may also be writing and directing one of the remaining seven, however “he wanted a little time to think of an idea before committing to it”.

If you haven’t seen the video for Overcompensate, check it out here now:

Twenty One Pilots are an American musical duo from Columbus, Ohio. Initially a band, the group was formed in 2009 by lead vocalist Tyler Joseph, along with Nick Thomas and Chris Salih, who both left in 2011. Since their departure, the line-up has consisted of Joseph and drummer Josh Dun. The duo is best known for their singles “Stressed Out”, “Ride”, and “Heathens”. The group received a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards for “Stressed Out”. The band independently released two albums, Twenty One Pilots (2009) and Regional at Best (2011), before being signed by record label Fueled by Ramen in 2012. Their label debut Vessel (2013) became the second album in history on which every track received at least a gold certification, making Twenty One Pilots the first and only band in the history of music to see every song on two albums earn gold or platinum awards.

Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame, has announced a new project titled The Time Experience Project. Described as a creative collective, the group is aiming to release a modern rock opera next Friday and have dropped the first single, “Brings Me Home.”

The new project appears to be a collective project in every sense, as Stewart has enlisted the efforts of musicians, actors, writers, filmmakers and composers to realise his new vision. The Time Experience Project will release their debut album, Who To Love on Friday, 20 October and centres around an immersive rock opera experience.

Speaking on the conceptual nature of the record, Stewart offered, “The songs on this album are centred around the elusive nature of time, how it seems to speed up or slow down depending on your mental state. Through the music and lyrics, we try to interpret this feeling and how life’s journey can become serpentine and surreal as we wander through moments of sadness, melancholy, love addiction and pure ecstasy.”

The album will also be accompanied by a quasi music video/film and will have its premier in Rome, Italy on 19 October, the day before the release of the album. Shown as part of the Rome Film Festival, the video stars Italian actress Greta Scarano and band Mokadelic.

Elaborating on “Brings Me Home” and the short film, Stewart added, “The short film revolves around a character who is struggling with anxiety and loneliness, reflected in both the music and the actions of the protagonist. It’s a song about the power of real love; about how something as simple as holding someone’s hand or seeing their face can make us feel at home, even amid chaos. In a world that is constantly changing and moving at a rapid pace, it is important to slow down and connect with others in a meaningful way. This song reminds us that we all need a place to call home, both physically and emotionally.”

The Eurythmics, comprising the duo of Stewart and Annie Lennox, enjoyed immense success and popularity before their split in 1990. Perhaps best known for their smash hit song, “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This),” the group scored a number of UK and US hits that saw them cememnt their place as one of the era’s greatest synth-pop bands.

Both Stewart and Lennox continued to enjoy success as a music producer and solo artist respectively throughout the 90s and beyond, before reforming the Eurythmics twice in 1999 and 2005. Earlier this year, the group celebrated “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)’ 40th anniversary.

Arctic Monkeys have released a new music video for “Sculptures of Anything Goes”.

This is the fourth music video to be released from The Car, the band’s seventh studio album released in October 2022. Watch the video here:

“Sculptures of Anything Goes” is the latest single from the critically acclaimed album. A distinct break away from the band’s indie rock roots, the album continues where Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino left off with its piano-oriented experimental pieces.

The video hones in on the new lounge rock feel that Arctic Monkeys are channelling these days with its colourful palette and abstract shots of the band both in rehearsals and performing the song on tour.

Moving on from his Teddy-boy style days that became iconic during the peak of A.M. mania, Alex Turner has matured in aesthetic in a way that goes hand in hand with the band’s change in musical direction.

The video was directed by Ben Chapell with Matthew Cronin as editor.

The video has largely been met with positivity with Twitter user @RuzannaBlack declaring it to be a “masterpiece.”

Sculptures of anything goes music video is a masterpiece.
That’s it. Send Tweet.

— Amarikacin (@RuzannaBlack) March 6, 2023

Another fan took to Twitter to state that the song is ‘perfect, overcomplicated, weird and poetic.’

i wasn’t sure why they chose sculptures of anything goes as the new single, but now that i spent more time with the song, i get it. it’s that perfect, overcomplicated, weird and poetic thing i love alex for pic.twitter.com/hqf3kKKV9w — Anna (slow)⁷ (@vadjokakivadjok) March 7, 2023

The Car has without a doubt been Arctic Monkey’s most polarising album yet. The album received critical acclaim, with NME awarding it ‘Album of the Year,’ declaring it to be “the band’s most adventurous album, but also their most open-hearted, striking a perfect balance between subversion and tenderness.”

The first single released from the album, “There’d Better Be a Mirrorball” was nominated for a Best Alternative Music Performance at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards and was listed in The Guardian’s 20 Best Songs of 2022.

However, some fans were disappointed to find the band once again distancing themselves from the indie rock sounds of Favourite Worst Nightmare and Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.

One fan wanted to ‘bin’ the album upon hearing it’s similarities to Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino.

One song into the new Arctic Monkeys album and can already tell it’s every bit as shit as their last album was.

Bin.#TheCar

Another fan called out the fact that the album was far less of a collaborative band effort than usual, with Alex Turner being credited as the sole writer for seven of the ten tracks.

Only three songs on #TheCar are listed as being @ArcticMonkeys songs. So the rest of the band didn’t want their name on the other seven. Maybe they think it’s a shit album too. — Ste (@SABrack84) October 21, 2022

“Sculptures of Anything Goes” was a team effort from Turner and Jamie Cook however and has largely been praised for its maturity as a track.

Kieran Hebden (better known as Four-Tet) has been at the forefront of experimenting in electronic music for a career spanning 36 years since he joined forces with his fellow schoolmates to form Fridge at the tender age of 15. With a degree in mathematics and computer studies, the mind of Four-Tet is one of reasonable logic and rhythmic patterns. Now, having dusted off his old KH moniker, Hebden has dropped his latest work titled “Looking At Your Pager”.

Centring around a 3LW single from back in the year 2000 “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right)”, you can hear Hebden’s trademark pacy yet cascading percussive grooves that pop and crackle over the retro vocal sample, utilising perhaps a more dubstep style bassline that snarls and wobbles over the infectious beat. The sound is both reminiscent and futuristic all at once.

You can have a listen to “Looking At Your Pager” in the video down below:

Discussing the inception of the new track and the process of getting it out into the world, Hebden said; “This track was made in the summer last year just before my first festival set in a long time. I wanted something new to play that would feel universal, positive and futuristic and this is what I came up with. Since then I think more people have asked me about this track than for anything else I’ve ever made and I’ve had amazing times playing it to the best crowds you could ask for. It took quite a while to get approval for the vocal sample but it finally happened recently and now the music is out in the world for everyone.”

Demonic outfit CRADLE OF FILTH is proud to release an extraordinary new video, accompanying their magnificently mournful track “How Many Tears To Nurture A Rose?”. The video premiered last night as part of CRADLE OF FILTH’s Infernal Vernal Equinox Deadstream, and now fans all across the globe can also bask in its sublime black magick.

Directed by Vicente Cordero, the stunning video winds a haunting tale – sinister, alluring, and deadly. But he that dares not grasp the thorn, should never crave the rose… Infamous front-man Dani Filth stated: “This is yet another great video by director Vicente Cordero, encapsulating the occult essence of the song’s lyricism with great sweeping colourful strokes of total batshit-craziness.” Adding, “It really makes for frightening, yet strangely compelling viewing!” You can watch the video below.

The gates of hell opened once again in 2021, revealing CRADLE OF FILTH’s 13th manifesto Existence Is Futile. Pieced together in isolation at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk with studio guru Scott Atkins, the record is a pitch-black, perverse and at times absurdly brutal masterpiece, based around the concept of existentialism.

Diehard fans were thrilled to learn that horror icon Doug ‘Pinhead’ Bradley made a welcome return, lending his dulcet tones to the band’s most politically astute song to date, the epic “Suffer Our Dominion” as well as the album bonus track “Sisters Of The Mist“, which is the conclusion to the “Her Ghost In The Fog” trilogy, started over 20 years ago on the infamous and classic Midian.

Belched from Hell’s depths into the rustic charms of the Witch County, Suffolk, thirty long and disturbing years ago, CRADLE OF FILTH are undisputed giants of the heavy metal realm. Imperious purveyors of a perennially unique strain of dark, dastardly, and wilfully extreme metal, with deep roots in the worlds of gothic horror and occult curiosity, the band led by Dani Filth has weathered three decades of tumult and trial, earning a formidable reputation as both a singular creative force and one of the most riotously entertaining live bands the metal world has ever produced.

the band have also booked themselves for a lengthy US tour set to begin this May, and while there is not yet an official stint of dates here in the UK, the summer festival circuit may be able to satisfy your needs. With an appearance at Durham’s Dominion Festival on July 29th, the tease of UK dates could reveal more soon. See here for full information on the band’s tour.

Yungblud has dropped another treat for his fans last night with the official music video for ‘acting like that,’ featuring Machine Gun Kelly premiering on his Youtube channel last night to be watched by his 2 million subscribers and more. The video has a zombie apocalypse theme with a short acted intro between the two singers who have woken up at the end of a bender to find the world consumed with the undead. The video then cuts to scenes of Machine Gun Kelly performing the first section of the song which features his vocals for the verse and first chorus.

Yungblud is seen throughout the first part of the video partying on a bus in the midst of the chaos before taking over the vocal duties at the song’s midway point. The video frequently cuts back to Kelly throughout the song’s second section where he continues to sing and play his guitar alongside his drummer with only a wire fence keeping undead at bay. The song has quickly been taking off across the internet with the Youtube video already picking up 741,775 views and reaching #14 on trending already.

The video ends with Yungblud himself transformed into one of the undead and, while the choice of video isn’t necessarily relevant to the song’s lyrics, it is certainly a lot of fun to watch and a cheeky poke of fun at the current situation the world finds itself in. ‘acting like that,’ is available to stream as a single on all platform and is also one of the tracks from Yungblud’s number 1 album ‘weird!’ which was released in December 2020. The album’s success has teleported Yungblud out of the insular British Indie scene and onto the world stage, with transAtlantic collaborations with the likes of Machine Gun Kelly have certainly helped him to get there.

The ‘acting like that,’ production is a slight outlier on the ‘weird!’ album with the collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly leading to the adoption of some Rap elements such as in the verse which is typical of Trap style beats in its rhythm while the chorus contrasts by following a more conventional Rock approach which pushes the song forwards where the the verse pulls it back and makes space. The collaboration is a unique one which adds a great deal of flavour to the album by not only blending the genres of Rock and Rap but also by allowing for a clash of cultures by allowing the perspectives of an American rapper and a British singer to be heard with equal importance.

With the possibility of live music in Britain this year still heavily in question, Yungblud’s fans will surely be appreciative of this video which contains at least some of the energy of a live show in its explosive delivery and with a lot of effort clearly being made to make a video which not only supports the song but is also interesting enough to enjoy as an art piece in its own right.

Celeste has treated fans today by releasing the official video for her single ‘Love is Back,’ on her Youtube channel, with the news being announced on her Instagram yesterday. The video features a quirky 1960s office theme based around a newspaper headline stating that ‘Love is Back,’ and featuring Celeste herself in an office singing the lyrics of the song into a bright red telephone in a montage with some stylish animation which echoes the live action scenes in a stylised fashion.

The video’s retro styling which takes us back to the dusty days of paper, desks and telephones are a breath of fresh air in a music industry saturated with hypermodern cliches or equally gadget laden 80s throwbacks and gives us something to really think about. The gentle nostalgia evoked by the video combines perfectly with the simple yet emotive song which tugs at the heart strings in both its musicality and its lyrical content and marks Celeste once again as a master of combining music with the moving image, a skill she first demonstrated with her incredible song composed for the Waitrose & John Lewis Partnership’s Christmas advert 2020 ‘A Little Love.’

While the John Lewis Christmas ad showed Celeste’s talent for writing to a brief, the work she has done on ‘Love Is Back,’ is very much her own, with the laid back R&B style fitting perfectly to her dusty, emotive vocal style which is in all ways unique and incredibly powerful. The video comes just over a week before Celeste’s debut album ‘Not Your Muse,’ is due to be released a month earlier than planned, a surprise announcement which delighted and pleasantly surprised fans who will find their pre-ordered copies arriving much earlier than expected.

While the exact reason’s behind this decision are not known it is likely that the ongoing coronavirus crisis in the UK, which is now claiming more lives on a daily basis than during the peak of the first wave, which has been the cause of another national lockdown without a clear end in sight may have played a role in this decision. As music fans in the UK settle in for another few months without their beloved live music, Celeste has been kind enough to gift us with one of the most highly anticipated works of recorded music of the year so far, and indeed it was hotly awaited throughout 2020 as well when Celeste was becoming the UK’s newest rising star.

The video matches the lyrical content of the song which tells the story of Leshurr who won the Queen’s ‘British Empire Medal (BEM) in the 2020 Birthday Honours for services to music and charity,’ and renting out a mansion to celebrate. The video ends with the rapper jumping into a swimming pool with the moral of the story being not to ‘Fake Flex.’

The video, which was ‘Directed by Spike Leesh. Shot & edited by Jay Goodz,‘ and ‘Produced by Dusty Goodz,’ is simply filmed with a single camera following the rapper as she moves around the mansion telling the story portrayed in the lyrics, yet features a number of nice touches like freeze frames as well as some typical characteristics which have been cropping up in rap videos recently such as the lyrics being displayed on screen in sync with the music so that the effect of a lyric video is amalgamated into the broader music video.

Lady Leshurr has managed to remain productive throughout 2020, despite facing many of the same issues as all artists have this year, including tours and gigs being cancelled and the usual face-to-face interactions with fans being made impossible. The rapper managed to take inspiration for the year’s events, releasing her second album full length album ‘Quarenqueen,’ in June. The album, which follows 2013’s Mona Leshurr, deals entirely with themes current to 2020 including songs with titles like ‘Quarantine Speech,’ ‘Isolation,’ ‘Ms Rona,’ and ‘Lockdown.’

On top of this, continuing the productivity despite circumstances, Lady Leshurr has treated fans to an EP released in December called ‘Astronaut EP.’ The EP, many will be relieved to know is not an album written entirely about coronavirus, a subject which the vast majority of us by now are well and truly sick of, the EP instead deals with some of the more familiar tropes found in rap music with tracks like ‘Money,’ ‘DIV,’ and ‘Fake Flex,’ oozing with acerbic wit and attitude.

As well as putting out a high quality album, an EP and winning a British Empire Medal, 2020 has brought more pleasant surprises for fans of Lady Leshurr. According to Radio Times ‘Lady Leshurr is joining the Dancing on Ice 2021 line-up.’ While Dancing on Ice might not seem like the most obvious show for a rap artist to feature on, one must ask the question, why not?

The articulate Lady Leshurr has never been one for living up to stereotypes and is famously headstrong, even turning down a record deal with Kanye West, she has done much to create an image of respectability in the sometimes shady world of rap and helped bring the genre closer to the mainstream and by extension, the Dancing on Ice watching public. With the UK now embarking upon its third national lockdown with only a vague end date in sight, fans of Lady Leshurr will have to wait some time before seeing the ‘Astronaut EP,‘ performed live.

Yungblud has released today a music video for his latest single ‘mars,’ which is due to appear on his upcoming album ‘Weird!’ which is due to hit record stores on ‘December 4.‘ The video comes just a day after the song hit leading streaming platforms and features Yungblud and others singing the lyrics directly into the camera will increasing scenes of chaos begin to ensue. The video is full of Yungblud’s rebellious and counter-cultural attitude and eschews all mainstream expectations of what a music video should consist of in a way which is very powerful and enjoyable to watch.

The song cheekily lifts its title and core concept from David Bowie’s ‘Life On Mars,’ but this is no cheap rip-off, more an affectionate nod to a man so influential to alternative and even mainstream British pop and rock music not just through his songs but also his many images and persona’s and his ability to resist tradition and pave the way for all the more androgynous aspects of musical performance that we nowadays take for granted. When Yungblud asks if there’s ‘any life on mars,’ he is standing up to the same questions that David Bowie would have faced in his era when he asked ‘is there life on mars?’

Yungblud’s album ‘Weird!’ is due to be released in physical forms on the 4th of December and his online store is currently offering a huge variety of bundles to pre-order as we come into the final week before its release. The album can be pre-ordered as an ‘ice cream man,’ vinyl which is a translucent grey colour and is also available in white. Bundles available on the website include vinyl, CD and sticker sets, bundles of CDs with a variety of alternative album artworks, cassette bundles, signed copies and more. The store also feature clothing much including socks, hoodies and polo shirts so fans can get the Yungblud look.

As well as building up excitement for the release of ‘Weird!’ by dropping singles and music videos, Yungblud is also about to embark on the US leg of his online live streamed virtual tour which will be continuing through the December 4th release date and Yungblud has been completing UK and European legs earlier this month. Furthermore, as well as the online ‘The Weird Time of Life,’ tour, which makes sense considering the current nationwide lockdown and that the majority of the country will still be unable to enjoy live music before Christmas due to the stricter tier system, Yungblud does have a real life tour planned for 2021.

Full UK tour dates for Yungblud’s 2021 ‘Life On Mars’ tour in 2021 are as follows:

28/09/2021 – O2 Academy – Bournemouth
