Kasabian has announced an exciting homecoming show for their fans. The renowned indie rock group, comprised of Serge Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews, and Tim Carter, is well-known for delivering unforgettable performances, and their upcoming homecoming show will be no exception. In addition to this exciting news, the band has also confirmed that their highly anticipated album, Happenings, will be released next summer.

Dubbed as Summer Solstice II, Serge and his bandmates will grace the stage at Leicester’s Victoria Park, captivating an audience of 38,000 music enthusiasts. This marks their return to the public space in their hometown after a decade since their last headline performance. The announcement has sent fans into a frenzy, with social media buzzing with excitement.

Following the tremendous success of their previous album, The Alchemist’s Euphoria, which reached Number One last summer, there are no indications that Kasabian will be slowing down anytime soon.

An electric show is not the only thing that fans can expect from the Kasabian lads. They have also announced that the Kaiser Chiefs will be joining them as a support act, with more acts to be announced later. Although their last headline performance at Victoria Park was ten years ago, the rockers performed a secret set at the venue in 2016 to celebrate Leicester City winning the Premier League.

Serge, speaking about the show, expressed the significance of creating lasting memories and experiences. He emphasized the impact of witnessing such an event in one’s hometown, with the sound, noise, and music etching unforgettable memories in one’s mind. Serge believes that these memories are what people carry with them when reflecting on their lives. He emphasised the importance of attending the gig, stating that it is an experience that cannot be missed. He said, “Seeing something like this in your hometown, you know – the sound, the noise, the music – those memories, that’s what you take with you when you look back on your life and it’s like, you’ve gotta be there, you can’t miss it, you can’t let this happen and not be at that gig, you know? It’s creating those moments and doing it where you’re from and inspiring the next wave, hopefully, of young kids in Leicester seeing it happen and then them starting a band, that’s kind of what it’s all about.”

Chris, on the other hand, highlighted the significance of this show being a decade after their first one. He expressed that it has always been their desire to do it again and to give back to the city. As there is no large arena in Leicester, this show serves as their arena, where big shows happen. Chris considers it a privilege to be able to perform in their hometown once more. He said,“It’s 10 years after the first one, it’s something we’ve always wanted to do again, and it’s something that we can give back to the city. There’s no big arena in Leicester, so this is our arena. This is where the big shows happen. And so to be able to do it again is just a privilege.”

The fan pre-sale will begin at 9.30am on December 7, followed by the general sale on Friday, December 8 at 9.30. You can find tickets here.

Having recently toured the UK, Haim will take a break from their travels this year, with this being the only European show for the sisters in 2023.

All Points East have announced the remainder of the lineup for those due on stage during Friday’s festivities, with Parcels, Tune-Yards and more newbies freshly added to the bill.

The American band The National are due to headline Victoria Park on August 26, with the likes of Fleet Foxes, Lucy Dacus, Kurt Vile and more already confirmed to support them. Always gifted with a brilliant lineup for those that enjoy slightly left leaning artists with a pop edge, All Points East has been going since the summer of 2018 and is an annual festival that enjoys 10 days of events. These 10 days comprise of 1 festival weekend, 4 free entry days with community activities known as “In The Neighbourhood”, and finally 3 standalone headline shows as part of the “All Points East Presents” series. This years APE Presents is sponsored by Ray-Ban and has already hosted London’s own Sherelle back on May 26th at Colour Factory, Kenny Beats at Koko on June 9th, with Self Esteem due to close out the series in style at EartH Hackney on July 14th.

So excited to join The National on this amazing line up for @allpointseastuk in Victoria Park, London on Fri 26 Aug! https://t.co/Ra1Ujr1ozf pic.twitter.com/fcQxev47RY

Irish indie folk band Villagers are also new additions to Friday’s bill for those looking to be hypnotised by Conor J O’Brien’s cunning lyricism and effortlessly crafted melody. Or in a similar vain there is of course the beautiful and timeless folk of Fleet Foxes to satisfy your rootsy yearnings. New inclusions Parcels are around to get you dancing with their disco inspired indie tunes, and Kurt Vile and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard there to bring the grit for those after something a little heavier and psychedelic. There really is something for everyone at All Points East, having been last year and been blown away by Loyle Carner to then walk around the corner and be put in a trance by the chic chill of Lianne La Lavas, it’s eclecticism is it’s greatest strength.

The full lineup for Friday has now been confirmed as The National, Fleet Foxes, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Kurt Vile, Perfume Genius, Parcels, Low, Lucy Dacus, Villagers, Tune Yards, Rae Morris, Valerie June, Balthazar, Dehd, Cassandra Jenkins, and Bess Atwell.

Other headline sets across the two weekends in August will come from Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Tame Impala, Kraftwerk, The Chemical Brothers, Disclosure and Gorillaz. A truly mouthwatering array of global talent that I’m sure anyone will be able to find something or someone they like in. You can grab your tickets here.

After moving to Brockwell Park for 2018 and Drumsheds for 2019, they are moving back to their old stomping ground of Victoria Park in East London for the 15th anniversary. They first returned to the famous Victoria Park in 2021, which represented a homecoming after they missed out on Summer 2020. The 2021 edition sold out in February, even when the UK was deep in lockdown with no end in sight, showcasing the festivals popularity in the scene.

The previous time the festival was held in Victoria Park was 2017, a day which hosted an impressive variety of acts including Death Grips, Flying Lotus, Run The Jewels, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and a headline act from Aphex Twin at the massive Barn stage.

Acts to perform at 2022’s Field Day include Floating Points, HAAi, Kareem Ali, Otik, and Tourist, as announced in November last year alongside the headliners, Kraftwerk and The Chemical Brothers.

A few artists on this line-up are returning acts, such as Moodymann who performed at the 2017 edition and Floating Points who performed a live set at the 2019 edition in Brockwell Park.

On their website, Field day revel in their return: “Field Day festival is set for a glorious homecoming, with Victoria Park in East London unveiled as the location for this year’s anticipated show.

East London’s reasonably new All Points East has only been running since 2018. But since then, the festival has organised an eclectic range of pretty great music, inviting artists such as LCD Soundsystem, The xx, The Strokes, Bon Iver, Run The Jewels as well as many others over the festival so far. This year the standard has been maintained with highlights from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Tame Impala, and returning after their slot in 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19; Kraftwerk, all heading down to the Victoria Park festival.

At the moment, we aren’t sure how much more is to be announced for the festival, but as it stands; Day 1 on Friday 19th August starts the festival off strong with IDLES returning for the second time in support of their new album “CRAWLER”, Pusha T joins with his only known UK appearance, and Yves Tumour and it’s Band, before Damon Albarn’s virtual band Gorillaz round out the evening.

Saturday 20th will present Field Day, for the second time, since the festivals merged last year. Kraftwerk will return after their 2020 show was cancelled; they will headline the festival alongside The Chemical Brothers. Floating Points represents Manchester’s dance scene while Logic1000 keeps the party local.

Thursday 25th will be headlined by Tame Impala. Other highlights come from London’s own post-punk outfit Dry Cleaning after the success of their recent debut album, the experimental Swedish group Goat only add the energy.

Friday 26th will feature previous headliners The National, their second time on the top of the bill since the festival’s debut. They will be joined by, arguably, Melbourne’s greatest musical export King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, alongside the likes of Fleet Foxes, Low, and Perfume Genius.

Saturday 27th sees the festival kick back into party mode with Disclosure closing an exciting evening with support from James Blake touring his most recent critically acclaimed album “Friends That Break your Heart”, as well as the always on-point Freddie Gibbs, Channel Tres, and Sherelle.

Sunday 28th welcomes Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds back to close the final night of the festival. Nick Cave will be joined by 2020 Mercury Prize winner Michael Kiwanuka. Nottingham punks Sleaford Mods will also be attending the festival, contrasting the sweet sounds of Japanese Breakfast earlier in the day.

Tickets for the festival go on sale at 10 AM on Thursday 25th November, ticket prices may vary anywhere from £60-£100 depending on which day, and what tier of ticket you’re after. See the full lineup here, and get tickets here.

The show, which has promised to be a highlight of 2020, comes six years after Kasabian’s successful debut performance, at Victoria Park. Next year’s show will mark the band’s first outdoor UK show, since their huge headline set at the Isle of Wight festival, and their first UK show since their performance at Brixton Academy in 2018.

The band is made up of frontman Sege Pizzorno, singer Tom Meighan, bassist Chris Edwards, drummer Ian Matthews, and guitarist Tim Carter. Kasabian are currently working on new music and are “eager to return to Leicester next month.” The announcement comes after Kasabian’s frontman, Serge Pizzorno, under the moniker The S.L.P, released his self-titled solo album, to critical acclaim.

Kasabian are hugely successful, they have five UK number 1 albums to their name and have sold over 5.5 million albums worldwide. They’ve won a Brit Award, seven NME awards, and four Q Awards. They have also performed at some of the UK’s largest festivals including headline performances at Glastonbury Festival, V Festival, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds Festival and numerous festivals worldwide.
