It was reported that 1.54 million tickets were sold via O2 Priority between January and November of this year – this is a remarkable 12% increase from the same time period in 2023.

O2 and Virgin Media customers are granted with the Priority Tickets reward platform, which enables them to have exclusive early access to the sale of tickets to some of the biggest events in the UK. Along with this, members can receive other benefits including VIP Hospitality packages, queue jump and a range of discounts.

The biggest selling tours of 2024 according to the level of Priority Tickets sold, reveals the UK have an eclectic taste when it concerns entertainment.

Dua Lipa was crowned the top spot on the list. The pop sensation released her third album, ‘Radical Optimism’ this year alongside the announcement of a 2025 world tour, named after the LP. With her own ITV Special and memorable hits like ‘Houdini’ and ‘Training Season’, it is no surprise Lipa claims this spot. As the highest-selling artist on the list, it should be noted that the ticket sales for her upcoming tour were partnered with O2’s priority platform, announced through an enticingly iconic ‘Walk’ ad to increase hype for the events.

Lipa’s runner-up was none other than legendary British comedian Peter Kay. As a much-loved comedian in the UK, Kay’s upcoming tour will consist of a residency at London’s prestigious O2 Arena; with many sold out dates on this tour and some fans reporting being over 20,000 in the queue for tickets, extra shows have been added to meet demand.

Despite only announcing her tour at the end of November, Lana Del Rey claimed the third spot on the list. The forthcoming tour will mark the ‘Video Games’ singer’s first stadium tour in the UK and will be some of the first shows to witness performances of tracks from her unreleased album ‘The Right Person Will Stay’.

Other artists on the list include Usher, who continues to ride the success of his halftime performance at this year’s Super Bowl in February, along with Billie Eilish, who released her third album ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ this year and has spent the last few months touring the album in the US.

The star, who is set to drop her sophomore studio album in the upcoming months, will take her career to new heights with her very own arena tour across the UK. Fans of the “Remember” musician can sign up to the pre-sale now whilst the sale for tickets will be available to purchase next Friday.

The 29-year-old singer took to her Instagram to share her excitement. She said: “NOTE TO SELF: you used to dream about the life you live now. I HAVE MY VERY OWN UK ARENA TOUR!!! 2024 will be about coming to as many cities in the UK & partying with thousands of you! not coming out for a song or two on someone else’s show, not on a line up with other artists, my very own show! make sure you sign-up to presale so you can get your tickets in early. I don’t want you disappointed! I’m gonna make this show MASSIVE, I can’t wait to see you all.”  

Supporters of the hit-maker took to the comment section to share their excitement over the news. One person said: “I am SOBBING. This is just something you have dreamed of for so long. This 11-year journey had been SO worth it. I am honestly sobbing. I cannot even express how proud I am of you. No words at all.”

Meanwhile, another person also wrote: “Hard work. Dedication. Perseverance. Every show, festival, and performance you have done is living proof you are an artist who is worthy of this and MORE! Earlier this week, Hill appeared on BBC’s Live Lounge series and performed her 2023 anthem “Disconnect” and covered “Shades of Love” by Blessed Madonna. Other stars who performed on the series this month include Jorja Smith, Madison Beer and Holly Humberstone – and will also see 2024 Halftime Superbowl performer Usher make his debut on the show in a few days time.

Beginning Monday, October 2nd, BBC Radio 1 hosts Rickie, Melvin and Charlie will air a new Live Lounge every Monday to Thursday throughout the month. Each performance will take place at 12pm. The Radio 1 trio announced the details of the new live lounge month, along with the line-up on air during their morning show on September 5.

Radio 1’s Live Lounge will be graced with the presence of some of the world’s most popular artists, performing both their own musical pieces as well as unexpected covers. We will have the pleasure of Olivia Dean’s performance, whose album Messy has been nominated for a Mercury Prize Award 2023.

Listeners of Radio 1 and BBC Sounds can tune in live to all performances from Live Lounge Month. They will also be able to view the performances on-demand on Radio 1’s BBC iPlayer and YouTube channels.

Olivia Rodrigo, whose new album GUTS  launches September 8, visited London and popped into the Radio 1 studio with host Melvin Odoom to make a very hot announcement. Melvin spoke to Olivia and said, “We are so excited to have you here today, because the real reason you’re in the studio right now is because you have a massive announcement, right?”

Olivia made here live lounge performance official and told the Radio 1 listeners in retort to Melvin “I’m so excited to announce, “I’m going to be kicking off Radio 1’s live lounge month 2023 and it’s going to be October. I’m very excited, I’m filming it in LA, and it’s going to be a ball.”

The singer expressed that releasing the single for the film is a dream come true. The film follows the character Barney “A socially awkward schoolboy and his malfunctioning digital device Ron”

The singer achieved musical fame in 2010, with his band One Direction aka 1D who are considered the best selling UK boyband”. The band lineup included bandmates, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson who met when they all entered the ITV series The X Factor.

The band released their debut album Up All Night on 18th November 2011 and achieved number-one success with their single “What Makes You Beautiful” released on September 11th 2011. Malik left the band in 2015 to embark on his solo career and the singer continued in the group with Horan, Styles and Tomlinson.

The singer released his first solo single “Strip That Down” on May 19th 2017 from his debut album LP1 released on December 6th 2019. The single reached number three in the UK Official Singles Charts. The singer counts Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams and Usher as his musical influences and has sold more than 23 million singles with 1D and 3 million solo albums to date.

The single has been described as a feel-good song and a teaser clip of the single was released today via TikTok. The singer stated “I can’t wait for you all to hear Sunshine and to see ‘Ron’s Gone Wrong.’ It has been a lot of fun!”

The singer has not released any solo material since his collaboration single “Naughty List” with Dixie D’ Amelio last October. Making the single “Sunshine” the singers first single release of 2021. The single is set for release on August 27th and the film Ron’s Gone Wrong is set for release this October.
