On Sunday night Charli XCX released an extended version of her brand new 15 track album Brat which features three previously unreleased songs. The news was unveiled in a TikTok live stream a few hours before the album hit streaming sites as a billboard was painted to reveal the words ‘Brat and it’s the same but there’s three more songs so it’s not’ which also compensates as the album’s cover.

@charlixcxBrat and it’s the same but there’s three more songs so it’s not – Out at midnight.♬ Spring breakers – Charli XCX

The highligly anticipated original album was released on the 7th of June and has already been extolled with it earning an impressive score on Metacritic of 93 making it the highest rated album of 2024 thus far. Though the ‘angles’, the name given to fans of the Boom Clap singer have been steaming the album non stop, unfortunately there have been no songs from Brat that have snatched that number 1 spot just yet and despite the impressive reviews from critics, Taylor Swift’s latest album The Tortured Poets Department remains undefeated securing the top spot for its seventh week on the Billboard 200 albums chart.Brat is Charli XCX’s sixth full-length album and the record sports tracks featuring A.G. Cook and a seemingly unlikely, yet seasonable contribution from TikTok star Addison Rae.

The deluxe edition of the album includes three new tracks called ‘Hello goodbye’ which was produced by A.G. Cook , ‘Guess’ which was co-written with 100gecs who are long time collaborators and friends of the singer and finally ‘Spring breakers’ which samples the 2003 song ‘Everytime’ from 2000s pop icon Britney Spears.Critics are saying that XCX’s Brat is her first album to fully lean into dance tracks. The singers first gig was at a rave and though she has performed in stadiums such as a supporting artists for Taylor Swift’s 2018 Reputation stadium tour, XCX feels that she belongs in the atmosphere of raves and clubs as she told The Guardian in 2018 noting that she’s ‘not a pristine pop performer. I’m born to play in club environments, rave environments.’ Brat has been described by critics as launching a ‘bold new chapter…it has the effervescent hooks of her best work and the shimmer of hyperpop, and lots more‘ and this energy is carried over through the songs on Brat and its the same but there’s three more songs so its not, which is the full title of the extended edition.

If the deluxe album is still leaving you wanting more then you should check out her 2024 tour dates for both North America and the UK which she announces in March along with the album Brat. She is currently due to play a New York show today, the 10th of June as well as a number of other shows across the US into the autumn of 2024 with her long time friend Troye Sivan. For UK fans XCX will be hitting the road with Brat at the end of November of this year playing shows in Manchester, Birmingham, London and Glasgow which you can buy tickets for by following the link here.

More than 40 years since they first burst on to the scene, The Wailers have announced they are hitting the road again for a ‘legendary’ UK tour set to take place November 2024. The tour is said to be a commemoration of the release of the compilation album ‘Legend‘, and the group will be playing the album in its entirety. Released in 1984, the iconic record is a collection of Bob Marley’s greatest hits, and remains the best-selling reggae album of all time, selling more than 25 million copies worldwide.

The band first came together in 1981 in celebration of their late frontman Marley shortly after his death, and is one of several spinoffs of Bob Marley and The Wailers. Now led by Aston Barret Jr. and lead vocalist Mitchell Brunings, the group are expected to play 11 dates throughout November this year, kicking things off in Newcastle on November 13.

From a blurb posted on their website, Marley and Wailers fans attending live shows can expect “the magic of their timeless classics and incredible cuts from Bob Marley’s vast repertoire in a set that is truly unforgettable. Under the guidance of Aston Barrett Jr, son of the legendary “Familyman”, The Wailers continue to preserve the legacy of their iconic sound.”

The announcement of the tour follows the release of the critically acclaimed biopic Bob Marley: One Love. Landing in cinemas on February 14, the film follows the trials and tribulations of Marley’s life, and stars Peaky Blinders‘ Kingsley Ben-Adir. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, the film was made in close collaboration with Marley’s family, and not only honours his legacy, but observes and shines a light on other central figures in his life, such as his wife Rita and Island Records boss Chris Blackwell. Just over a week since it hit cinema screens, it has been confirmed that the film broke box office records on its first day alone, earning an eye-watering $52 million during the six-day holiday stretch.

Cassia is composed of vocalist Rob Ellis, bassist Lou Cotterill, and drummer Jacob Leff. Collectively, the group have cited World Music as a shared inspiration, with frontman Ellis saying: “Speaking personally I think the thing that interests me the most is the unpredictability of the music. It’s cool knowing that there’s an endless vat of unexplored approaches ideas out there to take influence from.” Having spent part of his childhood in Zambia, lead singer Ellis was exposed to West African music and has brought this mastery into Cassia’s sound. Their Home Soon… EP was constructed all over the world, taking influence from every corner of the globe. The band commented on their recent writing style, claiming: “we felt that gave us a new lease of life creatively.”

Moreover, when asked about the EP in general, the band said: “Summed up the EP is based around life cycles. I feel that l always struggle to cope with chapters drawing to a natural close because it forces me to change what is comfortable, it is just a natural response of mine and so these songs act as an outlet for me, some tracks reminded me of the positive outcomes that come off the back of change, whilst some songs were jotted down during a painful switch of reality.”

British Rock band Feeder have given fans an overload of exciting announcements recently, as they shared the news of their upcoming 12th album Black/Red, due to drop next April, as well as details of an epic UK tour set for next year.

Black/Red will be the band’s first double album and, alongside their 2022 LP Torpedo, will complete a trilogy of records released by Feeder. In a statement from the band, the tracks across both Black and Red both carry the same aura of “open space, freedom and possibility” as seen with last year’s LP, but sees them connected by their optimistic energy, rather than through a specific concept.

Frontman Grant Nicholas also said on the double album “I really wanted the album to be split in two parts for the listener, CD1 and CD2, black and red rather than be one long player, almost like a musical production with an interval”.

“Making it was a very creative time for me as a writer and a real labour of love. Making the ‘Black’/’Red’ album for me personally was a musical pilgrimage and I feel the end result is undeniable Feeder.”

In celebration of their album announcement, the British rockers released 2 tracks today (October 23rd) from their upcoming album. You can find the full Black/Red tracklist and listen to “Playing With Fire” and “ELF” below.

American starlet Sky Ferreira has revealed her plans to tour the UK next year, and tickets are now available. The 31-year-old musician, who has yet to release her sophomore album following a string of pushbacks, will make waves when she returns to the UK in March 2024.

The singer shared the news on her Instagram and was met with a mixed reception.

The post, which has over 30,000 likes, left many fans divided over the announcement. The official Bratz page commented: “OMG BESTIE WHAT?!” followed by a crying emoji, whilst another use commented: “Sky Ferreira world domination.”

However, many fans were also sharing their frustrations over a lack of new material by the superstar. One person wrote: “Girl you’ve been touring the same album for 10 years”, and another person commented: “Girl how about you drop an album before these dates we’re starving”.

Sky, who last performed in the UK at the 2022 Meltdown Festival, released her latest single “Don’t Forget” last year. The track, which has over 3 million streams on Spotify, will be included on her up-coming sophomore album, Masochism. Her 2019 single, titled “Downhill Lullaby”, will also be part of the anticipated record.

Listen to “Don’t Forget”, below.

Sky’s last and only album was released over a decade ago. The project, Night Time, My Time, showcases Sky’s strength as an indie pop-rockstar and features 1990’s grunge and 80’s pop elements. The record, which is featured in many media publication’s best album lists of 2013, debuted at number 73 on the UK Albums Chart. Hits from the album include “Boys”, “I Blame Myself” and “You’re Not The One.”

The musician and model has been open about her struggles with delays with new material. Earlier this year, Sky expressed her frustrations on the subject and took to her Instagram stories to explain the hold-up. She said: “Being ‘difficult’ or ‘high strung’ doesn’t give people the right to damage & stall my career. I am in a difficult situation & I have to be ‘difficult’ to get through it. I have to protect my work & myself somehow? It’s not okay. If I’m not allowed to say something without consequence & the people who are supposed to do their job refuse to look out for me… How am I not going to be ‘difficult’?!?”

Fans of the singer have also expressed their feelings, with ‘Free Sky Ferreira’ banners flying over Capitol Records in Los Angeles.

Whilst fans will have to be patient for a little while longer for a new album, they can see her perform on her tour next year.

Tour Dates

17/03/24 – 3Olympia – Dublin
Since then, she has release three studio albums titled Folklore (2020), Evermore (2020), and Midnight (2022).

In addition to this, Swift has been re-recording her first six albums in order to reclaim the master recordings after a public battle with her former record label. She has already released two re-recorded albums in 2021 titled Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version). Her upcoming third re-recorded album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is scheduled for released on July 7, 2023. It is the re-recording of her 2010 album Speak Now with features from Fall Out Boy and Hayley Williams.

Tickets for the US leg of her tour last year were highly popular that the Ticketmaster website crashed due to “historically unprecedented demand”. Registration for UK tickets were closed on Thursday, June 22 at 11.59pm (local time) in the UK, and closed on Friday, June 23 at 11.59pm (local time) in Ireland and Europe. Registered fans means they will receive a unique code that will allow them to buy tickets at specified dates and times.

The noisy American alt-rock band will be taking their classic 90s albums on the road in March next year. The band will start with a three-day residency at the Olympia in Dublin on the 8th March, then play three shows at the Albert Hall in Manchester starting on the 12th March, and before playing three consecutive dates at the O2 Forum Kentish Forum in London starting on the 16th March.

They will then travel to Amsterdam playing three shows at the Paradiso and conclude the tour in Paris with a residency at the L’Olympia.

Tickets will be on sale from Friday 9th June at 9 am BST / 10 am CET. For tickets see here.

Nearly 33 years ago, Pixies released their third studio album Bossanova on 4AD featuring the two energetic singles “Velouria” and “Dig for Fire”. The record reached number 3 in the UK and 70 on the US Billboard 200. Listen to the single “Velouria” below:

The following year the band released Trompe de Monde also produced by Gil Norton and released via 4AD. The critically adored album is the last Pixies record to feature bassist Kim Deal and the last album recorded before the band’s decade-long hiatus. Stand-out tracks include “Alec Eiffel” about the engineer who designed the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty, “Letter to Memphis” Black Francis’ take on Chuck Berry’s song “Memphis, Tennessee”, and the band’s upbeat cover of the Jesus and Mary Chain’s “Head On”.
Currently, Black Francis and the gang are embarking on the second leg of their North America in support of their latest and eighth studio album Doggerel. This March the band completed the European and UK leg of the tour at The Roundhouse in London. Released last year, the album was recorded during the pandemic in an eco-friendly studio in Gulliford and produced by English producer Tom Dalgety. The album included the three singles “There’s a Moon On“, “Vault of Heaven“, and “Dregs of Wine“. Listen to the album’s lead single “There’s a Moon On” below:

Pixies now consists of lead singer Black Francis, Joey Santiago on lead guitar, David Lovering on drums, and Paz Lenchantin on bass. In March last year, the band broke their 2 year long hiatus to drop the non-album single “Human Crime“.
