Described as a “romantic stoner comedy”, the rapper is joined by Alhan Gencay and Talliah Storm. Not only does Nines take the starring role, but he also wrote and directed the 45 minute film which premiered at the Odeon Tottenham Court Road last week.

It isn’t the first time the rapper has released a movie at the same time as his music releases. Nines previously released his fourth studio album Crop Circle 2 this year as well as an accompanying short film. In 2018, he also directed Crop Circle which is the prequel to his new release. However, he dropped a 27-minute short film Crabs In A Bucket in 2020 followed by the release of an album with the same.

Crop Circle 3 consists of fifteen songs and includes features from multiple artists including Skrapz, Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Tiggs Da Author, Tunde, Mugzz, Big Narstie, Miraa May, and many more.

Before the drop of his album, he released “Daily Duppy” on the GRM YouTube channel which is the fifth song in the album. On September 15, Nines announced the release date for Crop Circle 3 with many fans expressing their shock for the rapper releasing another album so soon after the previous one.

Courtney Freckleton, most famously known as Nines, is a British rapper hailing from Harlesden, London. Nines gained popularity online through music videos for “Money on My Mind” and “Can’t Blame Me” as well as releasing mixtapes. He eventually rose to fame after signing with XL Recordings with the release of his debut studio album One Foot Out in 2017. The lead single for the album “High Roller” features fellow UK rapper J Hus. One Foot Out charted at number 4 on the UK Albums Chart.

In the last three years, the 33-year-old has featured in a few singles including KSI’s “Not Over Yet” remix. However, Crop Circle 2 and Crop Circle 3 is his first solo release since dropping Crabs In A Bucket in 2020.

His album is available to stream on all platforms and the short film Crop Circle 3 is available to watch on YouTube.

Merky FC was inspired by the lack of leadership positions held by those with Black Heritage. The partnership currently “creates a multi-year career programme, and opportunities for those who do not currently have fair access and representation within the industry.”

Amidst the launch of their second season on the programme (beginning October 2023), Stormzy and Adidas have released a report that highlights the importance of allyship within the football industry.

In a recent report published by Merky FC, the partnership announced their expansion, as they increase the number of football industry positions they recruit for from 15 to 50. Both Stormzy and Adidas are calling on their allies to form part of a career programme, which will commence in January 2024.

According to the report, 56 per cent of young Black and mixed-Black heritage people aspire to work in the industry, yet only 6.7 per cent of senior roles in football are occupied by someone from this community, and this partnership aims to break through these barriers to entry and provide more representation within football.

A press release states “adidas and Stormzy understand that allyship alone cannot tackle the disparities within the industry, however by using the #Merky FC approach – referring candidates, mentorship programmes and establishing role models, believe this can be replicated across the industry to help boost representation. “

Slowthai explained that the decision to postpone the inaugural Happyland festival was down to difficulties out of his control: 

“Unfortunately, due to things out of my control, we couldn’t put the show together at the standard that I wanted for the first-ever event.”

Happyland Festival was set to take place on Saturday the 25th of September at County Cricket Ground in Northampton. IDLES, Shygirl, and Easy Life were some of the artists on the bill for the event. 

The festival, created and curated by Slowthai, was due to be presented by himself and Golden Voice but will be postponed until further notice.

Tinie’s most recent album ‘YOUTH’ was released in 2017. On 1st October 2010, he had his first UK number 1 hit with the track, ‘Pass Out.’ That year he also had hits with ‘Frisky‘ and ‘Miami 2 Ibiza‘ with the renowned DJ’s Swedish House Mafia. He recently collaborated with pop singer L Devine on the electro track by Torren Foot ‘More Life.’

 The UK rapper announced on twitter that he’ll be celebrating his album’s success with a special performance at the Royal London Albert Hall on 16th April 2021. He said on twitter, “Catch me live celebrating 10 Years of Disc-Overy @Royal Albert Hall in 2021. I can’t wait to see you all. It’s gonna be crazy.”

NME reported him to of said, “My album ‘Disc-Overy’ is officially 10 years old,” He tweeted in October, “It was a life-changer. Just wanna say thank you to all of you guys for the support through the years. It’s been a crazy journey.”” In March this year Tinie released his latest material with rapper No3ts called ‘Top Winners.’ It was his first release in 3 years. The song premiered on Radio 1 on March 16th as Annie Macs hottest record in the world at the time it was aired.

Tinie told NME in an interview, “I made this record with Not3s because it’s about a ‘Winners’ mindset and mentality,” Tinie Tempah explained of the song. “Having that outlook has kept us focused – it’s the reason I am where I am, and the reason Not3s is where he is. It’s all about striving to achieve more and continue to do better for yourself.””

His music career began in 2009, when he signed to Parlophone records, a label belonging to Warner Music Group. In 2006 he founded his own company with his cousin Dumi Oburota. As well as being a record label, ‘Disturbing London’ also acts as a brand consultancy, artist management, event management, music publishing and fashion label.

His album ‘Disc-Overy’ was released on October 2010. The album charted at number 1 and was certified Platinum the next year. As well as winning his BRIT Award for ‘Best British Single,’ in 2011, he also won ‘Best British Breakthrough Act.’ His second album was released in 2013 entitled ‘Demonstration.’ The album charted at number 3 and was certified gold the next year.  In 2015, his single from his 3rd album ‘Not Letting go’ gave him his 6th number 1, making him the most successful UK rapper.

As well as celebrating his 10th anniversary for his album at the Royal Albert Hall on 16th April, Tinie will also be performing at the historic venue on the 29th March for the Royal Albert Hall’s 150th Anniversary in a big birthday concert. AJ deleted his instagram earlier this year and then revealed a mystery mobile number, asking his fans to text him for more news, keeping them updated with teasers and news about the upcoming EP. The nine track record has taken us back to his roots of Ladbrook Grove with pure grime and transatlantic rap and having grown a huge fanbase over the years, this will no doubt show his growth as a talented rapper. NME reported him saying about his recent success, “Would you believe / I killed the shows overseas / Spread the sound like a disease / brought the world to its knees,” he raps on ‘Yumeko’.”

In 2017 AJ Tracey released his original EP ‘Secure The Bag’ but with his latest release it seems he has cemented himself as one of the UK’s top current rappers. His EP is very versatile and have something for everyone’s musical tastes. NME reviewed the EP saying, “Across the EP, there are moments for every type of AJ Tracey fan. Lean, skittish drum rolls on ‘Hikkimori’ are underpinned with road rap, which slots alongside the taut trap braggadocio trills of ‘Blow My Phone’. ‘No Chucks’ and ‘Triggered’, meanwhile, epitomise Tracey’s quintessential energetic, boastful rap sound.”

Having entered the album chart in 2017 with ‘Secure The Bag,’ AJ Tracy will no doubt be hoping to top his success with his latest record. Tracy then released ‘Butterflies,” feat British singer Not3s, which peaked in the top 20 on the UK singles chart. The self titled album, ‘AJ Tracy’ which was released in 2019 by Warner records and peaked at number 3 on the album charts. His highest charting single was ‘Ladbroke Grove’ which peaked at Number 3 on the UK Singles Chart.

2020 has been AJ’s most successful year yet having released his hit ‘West Ten’ feat Mabel and massive hits including ‘Dinner Guest’ feat Mo Stack, a charity single ‘Times like these,’ and the platinum certified Tik-Tok track ‘Rain’ with Aich. He’s also featured alongside Stormzy on Headie One’s ‘Ain’t It Different,’ which peaked at number 2 in the UK Official Chart.

Having had over one billion streams globally, AJ’s continues to show his versatility and talent as a UK rapper as he continues to push the boundaries and have a clever use of wordplay to captivate his audience. His surprise release will surely please his fans and no doubt be another one in the bag for AJ Tracey.

His album, a mix of UK Rap, drill, trap, dancehall and US hip-hop, is released just 6 months after he was jailed for carrying a knife. The 26 year old described his experience to The Guardian “It was a wake-up call that it really is a thin line – one wrong move and it’s all over, it’s back to what you used to dream to get out of.”

Headie’s stint in prison is drawn upon throughout his album following convictions at the age of 17 for drug and knife possession. In 2014, he was convicted after being caught in possession of nearly £30,000 worth of drugs and sentenced to 30 months in prison.

During these times, music became his sanctuary and he developed his musical skills. He told The Guardian that other people inside, “didn’t feel the music like I did. Not just lyrics or beats, but the emotions, the sounds, the concepts.” His latest single, ‘Ain’t if Different’ ft AJ Tracey, is a catchy track with a hidden message about the dullness and hardships of prison life.

On his first day being released from prison in 2017, he spent the day recording a song and filming the video for it and released it the following day. From then on, he put all effort into his music, working intensely on new songs that later led to six mixtapes.

Headie has already had top 10 hits with rapper stars Stormzy and Dave and recently collaborated with rapper superstar Drake on their track ‘Only you freestyle,’ who describes Headie as, “The best Drill artist in the world.”- The Guardian. As well as dominating the album charts this week, Headie One also takes over this weeks official singles charts in top 40 with ‘Ain’t it Different,’ ‘Princess cuts,’ and ‘Parlez-Vous Anglais.’
