Slowthai Introduces His One-Day Festival ‘Happyland’

British rapper Slowthai introduces his one-day UK festival Happyland which will take place on Saturday 25^thSeptember 2021. Created by Tyron Kaymone Frampton or Slowthai, as well as Goldenvoice, the new festival is advertised as ‘Happyland – The Happiest Place in the Universe’ with the policy “No Smile, No Entry”.

The festival is to be held in Northampton, the hometown of Slowthai, at the County Cricket Club. The personal feel of the festival on Slowthai’s behalf, has caused it to receive hopeful reception. Festival goers can expect the same energy at the festival as that which Slowthai delivers in his music and performances.

The line-up includes names such as Greentea Peng, beabadoobee, Easy Life and Shygirl – a list hand-selected by Slowthai himself. The line-up shows the diverse talent that the next generation of UK music has to offer. It has been stated that each act represents “a different facet of the UK music scene in 2021”. So, it is no surprise that all of the artists chosen have risen in popularity throughout the last year or so, with the production of unique and modern music.

Of course, amongst those set to play at Happyland is Slowthai himself. After the success of his second album, ‘TYRON’ earlier this year, fans eagerly anticipate the festival – for with it brings the first live performance of the album. The rapper’s gritty, punk energy and politically charged lyrics add a uniqueness to his music and makes him extremely distinctive as an artist. This year has been a turning point for the British rapper and his career. We can be confident that Happyland is another reason to confirm Slowthai’s importance on the music scene.

Discussing the festival, Slowthai said: “Happyland with happy folk. The place where we can laugh and joke. The place you can be yourself without judgment, expectations and impressions of someone else. The space from the shackles of the everyday. The mountain where we climb to run away”.

Slowthai Releases New Single ‘Thoughts’ on his 26th Birthday

UK rapper Slowthai has shared his latest single today, 18th December, which is also his 26th birthday. Titled ‘Thoughts’, the song was co-written and produced JD. Reid and follows Slowthai’s life up until now.

The artist posted the lyric video to his Instagram saying, “thank you for all the birthday messages love you lot forever. feds shut down the shoot but fuck it. a present from me to you THOUGHTS OUT NOW!!!” In this, he is referring to the video, in which the police are shown keeping an eye on the crowd of people on the shoot.

It has been confirmed that despite Slowthai planning to release his new album on 5th February 2021, ‘Thoughts’ will not be included. However, the track-list does feature recent tracks ‘nhs’ and ‘feel away’, as well as many unreleased songs.

Of ‘nhs‘, the rapper said that it should be “a reminder to always appreciate what you have whilst you have it.” The music video gained 95,000 views in the first two days, and it now stands at 722,000 after one month.

Titled after Slowthai’s real name, Tyron Frampton, the album will have 13 tracks. Slowthai commented that he hopes “this album can be the light if you’re in the dark, and to know you’re not alone,” telling followers, “it’s okay to be yourself, fuck everything else. learn, grow, aim to be better than you were yesterday.”

Slowthai Releases New Single ‘NHS’ from Upcoming Sophomore Album ‘TYRON’

British rapper Slowthai is following his 2019 album ‘Nothing Great About Britain’ with a number of tracks from his forthcoming sophomore release. This includes new song ‘NHS’, premiering yesterday, 19th November.

The artist posted to Twitter with a letter to fans, which began, “thank you to all of you that have and continue to support me and my music up until now.” He also posted in a separate Tweet that the song is written as “a reminder to always appreciate what you have whilst you have it,” saying, “be happy and make do with what you have.”

Sonically, ‘NHS’ is mellow with meaningful lyrics such as “What’s a flight without turbulence? A life without circumstance? Boxing without another stance? Country with no coat of arms?”. Slowthai’s music video is centred around the effects of Covid-19, showing people queueing outside a supermarket and the rapper standing atop a tower of loo roll, and it already has 95,000 views.

The single is the latest release from his new album ‘TYRON’, due 5th February 2021, which Slowthai also announced yesterday. Titled after his real name, Tyron Frampton, he has said that he hopes “this album can be the light if you’re in the dark, and to know you’re not alone,” as he told followers, “it’s okay to be yourself, fuck everything else. learn, grow, aim to be better than you were yesterday.”
