Heavier than their previous single, ‘Good Boy’, ‘Body Behaviour’ mixes the duo’s famously trippy weirdness with influences from Led Zeppelin, The Stooges and The Beatles. Built around relentless acoustic riffing, White Fence’s Syd Barrett-like delivery and bizarre lyrics, the song’s refrain is jubilant and the ending guitar solo manic and aggressive.

Joy will be their newest release since the critically acclaimed Hair, which came out in 2012. In announcing the new LP,  the duo claim that Joy will defy rock’s naysayers – ‘if… rock in 2018 is dead, don’t come around here looking for no burial.’ Perhaps influenced by Nonagon Infinity, released in 2016 by Aussie psych luminaries King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard, the new LP is set to ‘[prism] all possible stances into an unseamly metastasis that FLOWS for 15 ebbcentric tracks. Plus, since it ends at the beginning, it never has to stop. LOOP that shit!’

On top of their own individual tours (with Ty headed on an all-acoustic solo tour in the autumn), the pair are set to play a series of shows together in North America this October, including an appearance at Desert Daze. With the upcoming tours and collaborative album, Segall is showing no sign of slowing down. Famously prolific, the 31-year-old started the year with the release of his tenth solo album, Freedom’s Goblin, adding another tick to his already dizzying list of appearances in bands, mixtapes, 7-inches and collaborations. Meanwhile, this year has seen White Fence and Cate Le Bon (together known as DRINKS) put out their second joint album, Hippo Lite.
