Two Door Cinema Club have announced a mammoth gig in London next summer, to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of their iconic ‘Tourist History’ album, which reached number one in the Irish charts.

The band announced two shows in their home nation of Ireland last week, one in Cork and another in Dublin. The Band’s debut album, which was “made in a garage in Donaghadee,” will grace venues far bigger than the pubs and bars the album was bouncing around in, when it first hit the airways.

The London gig will take place on Friday June 26, at Crystal Palace Park, which can host around 30,000 spectators.

It just wouldn’t be right restricting this album’s booming anthems with a roof. Two Door Cinema Club, and the outdoors go hand in hand.

Tunes like ‘What You Know’, ‘Undercover Martyn’ and ‘Something Good Can Work’ were born to be rolled out over thousands of fans, over the hills and into the sunset.

There’s something in those early tracks bright, restless, and made to echo through fields full of movement; they aren’t just hits, they are summer distilled. bottling the feeling of festivals at golden hour.

TDCC won’t be alone, support on the day will be brought by fellow indie heavyweights The Vaccines, James Marriot and The Royston Club.

In ‘The Royston Club’, we could be seeing a passing of the torch. One band who have dominated festivals for years, and brought eyes to any lineup, supported by this young gunning band from Wrexham, who have really stepped it up this year.

‘Songs For The Spine’ is the name of their record released just months ago, its full of anthem potential and a raw passion for making hits, they could be the ones to full the huge gap left by the golden generation of Indie bands, that wont be around in the next decade.

The band commented on the gig via their social media: “London is the first place outside of Ireland we called home, we recorded Tourist History in this city and it’s been the setting for so many iconic moments in our career.”

“We’re proud to be Irish but this also feels like a hometown show for us. London knows how it’s done so we can’t wait to celebrate with you along with our special guests”

The setlist will definitely include the whole of the album, plus other hits from the group. So you’re going to want to get your lyrics in for the following tracks:

Cigarettes in the Theatre

Come Back Home

Do You Want It All?

This Is the Life

Something Good Can Work

I Can Talk

Undercover Martyn

What You Know

Eat That Up, It’s Good for You

You’re Not Stubborn

Pre-sale will take place on Wednesday October 8 at 9am BST, with general sale beginning two days later at the same time.

The festival will take place between 6th-9th July 2022. After two cancellations, including this year, music fans will again flock to the festival’s location Passeio Marítimo de Algés in Portgual.

The latest acts to be confirmed include English indie rockers Alt-J and Two Door Cinema Club, both acts were previously announced within the 2021 line-up and will be honouring their billing within the 2022 event. Ticket holders will get to see Mercury Prize winners Alt-J perform on the second day, 7th July 2022. The group bagged the award in 2012 for their debut album ‘An Awesome Wave’. Irish rockers and NME award nominees, Two Door Cinema Club are set to perform on the event’s last day, 9th July 2022.

Also included within the recent line-up announcement was singer St. Vincent. The Grammy award winner will perform on the Sagres Stage and her set will be on the festival’s third day, 8th July 2022. Ticketholders will be treated to the singer’s classics as well as material from her newest album ‘Daddy’s Home’, released 14th May 2021. The artist known as Annie Erin Clark won the Grammy for Best Alternative Album for her 2014 album ‘St. Vincent’. Accelerating her accolade further, St. Vincent was the first woman to win the award in 20 years. Before her 2015 win, the last female to win the category was Sinead O’Connor in 1991 with her second album ‘I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got’.

The festival, which was once ranked within the top 12 European festivals by NME, has been running for over 14 years. NOS Alive was first organised under the different name of Oeiras Alive! In 2007 with an explosive line-up of Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumpkins and Beastie Boys. The next year, the festival’s name changed again to Optimus Alive!, the 2008 event saw a range of headline acts, Rage Against the Machine, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. The festival was named its current title of NOS Alive in 2014 and premiered the new name with a superb headline list of Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys and Indie darlings The Libertines. The event’s name is seemingly taken from the festival’s main sponsor, the telecommunications company NOS, which was also previously named Optimus

The full line-up includes Alt-J, Caribou, Da Wesel, Dino D’Santiago, Faith No More, Hobo Johnson, Imagine Dragons, Inhaler, Metallica, Manel Cruz, Parcels, Parov Stelar, Phoebe Bridgers, Royal Blood, St. Vincent, Seasick Steve, Tom Misch, The Lovemakers and Two Door Cinema Club.

Speaking about the their upcoming tour, Kevin Baird, said: “It’s been good. It’s gruelling obviously. I feel like when we were younger we thought, ‘We’ll get a bit more successful and we’ll start playing later at festivals and that’ll just mean that we’ll have less work to do’. But I don’t know… With every year and every album, it feels like more people want a piece of you.”

With the release of their fourth album, ‘False Alarm’, it has been said that, Two Door Cinema Club have “produced their most overtly joyous record yet.” The tour comes at the end of a very busy and successful year for the band, who are in the middle of a busy summertime festival schedule, which has seen Kevin Baird; Alex Trimble; and Sam Halliday perform everywhere from Glastonbury to Vienna.

Two Door Cinema Club hit the scene ten years ago with the release of their debut album, ‘Tourist History’, which received critical acclaim. This secured them a spot at the top of electro-indie-rock genre, paving the way to global success. Since then Two Door Cinema have continued to grow to critical and commercial acclaim, gaining a loyal following along the way.

With each new album release the continued to impress, and according to some this have seen the band finding “themselves as victims of their own success. Early success, coupled with a sometimes rigorous touring schedule and a litany of critics who wanted to compare everything they released to the success of their first album.”

The announcement that Tom Grennan will be supporting them, on their upcoming tour, comes after it was revealed, that three refugees were found hiding under the band’s lorry, in Galway, a couple of weeks ago. Responding, to the refugee plight, the Northern Irish trio wrote in a series of Tweets: “When we arrived in Galway on Friday, 3 young men: two 16 year olds and a 20 year old, came out from the spare tyre compartment in the undercarriage of our truck.

On June 21st, Two Door Cinema club released their highly anticipated album ‘False Alarm’, which introduces an entirely new image for the adored trio. For the first time since emerging into the indie pop scene back in 2010, the band have featured an image of themselves on the cover of the album, and the album itself has been highly stylised, consistent with a pop art kind of theme.

The single ‘Talk’, the first song to be released from the album in March, was a perfect reflection of what to expect from the 12 track record. The upbeat, wide-eyed indie tune is following the footsteps of the bands previous popular singles ‘Undercover Martyn’ and ‘What You Know’, and will no doubt soon become an iconic anthem for the band and their indie legacy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsaz72OBT9s

The album shows a clear stepping stone in the trio’s journey as artists, and furthers the sound from the previous album ‘Gameshow’, maintaining some of the same tropes; electronic beats and fast paced lyrics. Even though this is a new image and persona for the band, fans won’t be too shocked with what awaits them on the album.

Two Door Cinema Club have had an extremely successful career within the indie genre since the release of their debut album ‘Tourist History’ in 2010 which led to their popularity not only in the UK, but the US; with their previous album ‘Gameshow’ reaching number 8 in the US album charts.

Tickets are now on sale for Two Door’s upcoming world tour starting in October. Despite having released many dates already, the band took to Twitter to reach out to disheartened fans who have not been fortunate enough to have a concert near their hometown.

Two Door Cinema Club have announced details of their fourth album, ‘False Alarm’. As well as releasing the albums artwork the band revealed that, ‘False Alarm’, will be released, on the 14th of June 2019 via Prolifica Inc / [PIAS]. The announcement comes as the band have also shared their new track, ‘Satellite’.

The Irish band launched details of the album and ‘Satellite’ in a modern and tech-savvy manner, during a Facebook Live broadcast, which saw the album being launched into space. The live streaming session came complete with commentary from the band and a Q&A session with fans.

The trio will follow-up 2016’s ‘Gameshow’ with, ‘False Alarm’, which was recorded in London and LA with producer Jacknife Lee – who has worked with the likes of The Killers, U2 and REM. Meanwhile, ‘Satellite’ – the latest track to be taken from the band’s upcoming album following the recently released single ‘Talk’ – gives listeners a taste of the Northern Irish band’s new album, which sees the band going in a new direction from the trios previous sound.

The band’s fourth album, ‘False Alarm’, will address and tackle some of today’s social and environmental issues – whether it be Brexit or man-made disaster that is climate change – through a genre-bending lens of pop, disco, rock and soul. According to a press release, the album, ‘False Alarm’, “wryly scans and satirises the social and environmental woes of 2019.”

Speaking about the album, ‘False Alarm’, frontman Alex Trimble, said: “I love the pop thing, I love experimenting and going to different places, I love doing things that are a little bit wonky and I love the idea of doing something we haven’t done before, why can’t we do all of those things at once? That’s what it was, doing whatever felt right… It sounds like Two Door Cinema Club – not a Two Door Cinema Club there’d ever been before but that’s what I love. We can always do something new but it always feels like something we’ve done.”

The announcement comes as the trio are set to hit the festival circuit, this summer, which will cement their reputation as festival-favourites, which will include a string of hotly anticipated headline appearances at Tramlines, Y Not, Truck Festival, and Victorious. They are also set to make highly anticipated appearances at Glastonbury, Big Weekend, Sea Sessions and many more. A full list of the band’s live dates can be found below.

The festival line-up announcements for 2019 have already begun, with Sea Sessions the latest to reveal their line-up for 2019. The 2019 edition of Sea Sessions looks set to give audiences another unforgettable year, with the reveal of a stellar line-up that includes headliners Sigrid, Clean Bandit, and Two Door Cinema Club. Sea Sessions is one of Ireland’s most highly respected small festivals, taking place from the 21st-23rd of June 2019, in Bundoran, Donegal, Ireland.

The festival is widely recognised as being the country’s premier music, camping and surfing lifestyle event, and sells out to capacity crowds each year and continues to grow in popularity. Sea Sessions have revealed the first wave of acts for 2019 with a trio of headline acts that include Sigrid, Clean Bandit, and Two Dorr Cinema Club.

Joining the trio of headliners, to complete the first wave of stellar acts, will be Wild Youth, Hermitage Green, Le Boom, DJ Hype, Columbia Mills, and Montauk Hotel, with more to be announced soon. Sea Sessions, Surf & Music Festival continues to go from strength to strength, was originally established in 2008, as an after party for a Surfing Competition. Since then the event has made itself one the foremost festival experiences in the country, having previously played host to the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Paul Weller and many more in the past decade.

Based on the coastline in Bundoran in Donegal, Sea Sessions has still stayed true to its roots whilst incorporated the more grand festival elements to it, and is now the holder of the top surfing competition in Ireland as well as hosting the world’s top skateboarders, BMX’ers and a host of other beach sports over the course of the weekend.

Norwegian songstress, Sigrid has emerged as one of this years fastest-rising European talents. She will be no stranger to Irish shores having already played at The Olympia, Longitude and Electric Picnic this year, with a massive show at the 3Arena also scheduled in for next year.

Completing the trio of headliners, Two Door Cinema Club’s back catalogue of hits and three top-selling albums make them perfect to play the summer festival. Meanwhile Grammy-winning Clean Bandit have rapidly become one of the hottest electronic bands in the world and look set to build upon that with their sophomore record ‘What Is Love?’ , which is set to be released on the 30th of November 2018.

Speaking about the line-up, festival director, Ray O’Donoghue said: “We’re delighted to have booked such a strong bunch of acts and we’ve a couple of surprises still up our sleeves. Sigrid is a bonafide Pop-Star in the making, Clean Bandit have a bunch of huge hits and we’re big fans of Two Door Cinema Club. Last year was unbelievable and probably the best Sea Sessions yet, we’re hoping we can go one better again for 2019. Bring on the summer.”

Early bird tickets have already been snapped up but Day and Weekend tickets are on sale now from Ticketmaster. Tickets can be purchased here, with more information also available.

NME reports that Stereophonics, Two Door Cinema Club and The Vaccines have been confirmed to headline this summer’s Y Not Festival, as well as the line-up revealing a massive array of bands that will be joining them.

The reputation of the Derbyshire based festival has grown substantially over the last few summers, and this year sees further high profile acts confirmed to be playing, and joining the three headliners are the likes of Clean Bandit, Jake Bugg, Slaves, Maximo Park, Feeder, Nothing But Thieves, Example & DJ Wire, Twin Atlantic, Kate Nash, and Pulled Apart By Horses.

Festival director Simon Mawbey has said that he is “immensely proud of this year’s line up,” adding “We’ve worked really hard to secure the very best acts – bands and artists we personally love.”

Headliners Stereophonics are expected to play new songs, alongside the classics of their catalogue. The band themselves recently reported that their tenth album was finished. The Vaccines have also been hard at work on a new album, citing a “more energetic” sound to their project. Frontman Justin Young spoke about the album, suggesting that “It sort of builds on the musicality of English Graffiti, but I think there’s a lot more of spirit and energy from What Did You Expect…“Young elaborated on this, saying “We’re in the studio every day playing together, so it feels a lot more like a band again, which maybe English Graffiti stopped slightly. I guess it replenishes some of that spirit and that energy of the first record.”

Y Not Festival will take place from 27-30 July, at Pikehall, in the Peak District, in Derbyshire. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
