Lucy Dacus has postponed some of her upcoming UK and Ireland tour dates after testing positive for COVID-19. Dacus had been scheduled to commence her UK and European tour in support of her 2021 album Home Video tomorrow (March 18) with the first of two nights at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club (March 18 & 19), as well as a Glasgow show at St. Luke’s (March 20) and a Manchester appearance at Gorilla (March 23). These dates have now been put on hold, with new dates expected soon.

The tour will instead begin in Bristol on March 24, with additional gigs in London, Brighton and at the BBC 6 Music Festival in Cardiff unaffected. The announcement came after Dacus confirmed she had tested positive for COVID just before leaving the US for her tour.

A statement was sent out on Dacus’ social media channels last night (March 16) which read “She is doing well however, out of an abundance of caution and care for the rest of her band, crew and fans, we are postponing the first few shows of the tour. These shows will be rescheduled quickly (more on that soon) and the tour will begin as planned in Bristol on March 24.” She then continued “Lucy’s really looking forward to her arrival in the UK and Europe, and playing for you all. Thanks for your care and support, and she will see you soon!”

It was not stated when she planned to reschedule the shows, perhaps for dates during her trip to Europe as the tour is currently scheduled to finish in Paris on April 15. Alternatively, she could possibly rearrange the gigs for late summer, when she returns to the UK for previously planned appearances at End of the Road Festival and London’s All Points East.

You can see Dacus’ upcoming UK tour dates below, starting with the aforementioned Bristol date on March 24, and you can find any remaining tickets here.

Unfortunately we have to postpone our March tour dates. These shows will now take place in September/December 2021. We can’t wait to play our debut album live for you all, we promise to make it worth your wait. There might even be some new songs in there too!”

The band were originally scheduled to tour in November and December 2020, but these gigs were also postponed. The group are set to play dates in Bristol, Manchester, London, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow. The dates of their Irish leg of the tour are yet to be announced.

Fans were quick to voice their support for the band.

_black_burn posted: “It’s such a shame that the current situation doesn’t allow for the concerts to take place… can’t wait to see you live when it’s finally possible!”

trodgerson2014 added: “it’ll be worth the wait.”

The Edinburgh-based band, made up of vocalist Prentice Robertson, guitarist Dylan Rush and bassist Jamie Law, originally formed whilst at school. Their debut album, Everything Changes in the End, hit number 21 on the UK Albums Chart, and was nominated for the 2020 SAY Award. Gigwise writer Grace Almond describes the band as “ …part of a new generation of indie-pop bands carving out a solid place in the guitar scene for fans of happier, more pop-focused music.”
