Electronic Music Promoter (LWE) and virtual events company Sansar, have announced Tobacco Dock Virtual, coming Easter 2021. The London events venue will be hosting the experimental virtual party and clubbing experience to come to all platforms including VR. The idea is that when the club opens to those who have been vaccinated or feel safe enough to attend, those who have yet to get the vaccine can attend from the safety of their homes.

The platform will be used on the Sansar app and will allow viewers to move between the dancefloors of the club in vivid detail, with a livestream of all other goers. It will work through phone devices, Mac, tablet, PC or VR for viewers to enjoy a slice of the past in the club.

The company Beatport will be broadcasting the events through Facebook, YouTube and Twitch. The main-events have not yet been announced, as far as dates and times, however it has been released that their will be pre-game parties with music and games for attendees. The main events are scheduled to be announced on February 6th, 2021.

As one of the first widescale virtual events with a livestream and in-person attendees simultaneously, Tobacco Dock Virtual is setting the stage from a more innovative and virtual future. Tobacco Dock’s director Jonathan Read explained the experience, stating that –

“Tobacco Dock is excited to be working alongside our long term partner LWE to develop a cutting-edge virtual venue that will enable remote audiences to have a truly immersive, rich experience with the attributes of being present without the travel. It is a bold new step on our journey to make Tobacco Dock a global destination for music, cultural, fashion and tech events.”

In a press release, it was allusively announced that there will be big acts preforming opening weekend, which does not have a determinate date as of today. Not only were big acts promised, but major party bands situated in London will also be on the ticket.

It is not yet announced how much the app will cost, if anything or if there will be a type of ticket sale for the event. With the plan to open Easter of this year, it is still unclear whether the UK’s most recent restrictions surrounding the Covid-19 new variant will have been lifted at that time, and whether the events will still go ahead without a live-audience.

The second wave of acts set to perform at Junction 2 Festival 2019 have been announced. The 2019 festival will evolve in to a two day event. Junction 2 from next year, will run for an extra day, running from June 7th to the 8th, at Boston Manor Park, London.

The second wave of acts have been announced with Craig Richards set to perform on both days. Joining Craig on Friday night is Ben UFO, Mr. G, Sonja Moonear, and Jeremy Underground, Call Super, Joe Jobse, Peach, RROXYMORE, Shanti Celeste, and UMFANG, with more still to be announced. Saturday’s performances are set to explore darker, techno territories Apollonia, DAX J, ETAPP Kyle, IDA Engberg, Imogen, Nicolas Lutz, San Proper, Sonja Moonear, TINI, and Voigtmann all set to join the bill.

Meanwhile, the first acts announced to be performing at next year’s Junction 2, where revealed in October, with the likes of Bicep, Richie Hawtin and Motor City Drum Ensemble among the biggest names confirmed for the west London festival. Bicep, the duo whose blend of DJ sets and live performances have seen them become one of the most talked about acts on the clubbing circuit, will lead the bill. They will be joined by the techno icon Daniel Avery, with Daphni and Motor City Drum Ensemble among the other big names.

Saturday’s programming focuses largely on techno, with Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Maceo Plex, Richie Hawtin, Dax J, Etapp Kyle, Ida Engberg, and Imogen. To get tickets for this exciting event, that is sure to be a sell-out and one not to miss: they are available at Junction 2 tickets here.

Offering a glimpse of what to expect in 2019 at Boston Manor Park, Junction 2 will be throwing a launch party, at London’s Tobacco Dock, Wapping Lane, on December 29th 2018. The party will feature acts such as Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Innervisions bosses Dixon and Ame, Fort Romeau, Trikk, Mind Against, as well as Berghain regular Rohdad. Tickets for the launch party are available here.

The festival has been dubbed London’s best techno event, and whilst it was only founded in 2016, its popularity has steadily grown allowing the expansion of an extra day for festival goers. Spearheaded by London Warehouse Events, LWE’s influence over clubbers has gone from strength to strength, with this being the team’s biggest ever production to date. The organisers are notorious for their ambitious locations, whilst still upholding first class sound and production.

This years Junction 2 event, held at Boston Manor Park, just West of the city, had five areas to choose from; The Bridge, The Hex, The Warehouse, The Stretch and The Woods. The organisers believe that part of the success of Junction 2 is down to its incredible backdrop of Boston Manor Park. The venue itself is eclectic, including tents and open-air spots, hidden among the trees. The M4 motorway snaking overhead one of the stages, makes this a very interesting venue.

If the green field festival feel isn’t your thing, you can head into The Warehouse and immerse yourself in an industrial dance floor. LWE have an ethos of bringing quality electronic music to fans, as well as being sustainable and environmentally conscious. The organisers were tired of the abundance of inner-city festivals, which all felt a bit tired and familiar. Poor sound, boring “Big Top” formats, with the same artists on rotation, LWE wanted to create something unique. Junction 2 has proved to be just that.
