The rapper from Edmonton, North London shared with his fans via Instagram that he was releasing his documentary saying in the caption “I’m telling my story for the first time proud to announce I will be dropping my documentary”.

The rapper released part one last Friday and will be dropping a segment every Friday until the 24th of September, the week after his album release.

The 4 part series was put together by Tion’s manager Nino, Olu HD, Wowa and Marta Strauss and features interviews from his team, family, friends, figures in the UK rap scene and Tion himself.

The first episode was 22 minutes long and showed the early years of Tions life, growing up in Edmonton, his early rap career and finding himself in trouble.

The documentary will see the 28-year-olds journey from where he was as a young boy coming out of Edmonton to the UK rap superstar he has become today. 

His album releases come at a good time with the rapper having topped the UK charts for 3 consecutive weeks with his drill hit “Body” alongside fellow rapper Russ.

“Body”,” WOW”  and “Wid it” featuring Brighton rapper are the only two singles on the album to have been released. “Body” success was record-breaking for a drill song, “Wid it” currently sits on 4.5 million views after 2 weeks and peaked at 19th on the official charts. While “WOW” peaked at 21st and currently sits on 12 million views. The release of Tions album Green with envy comes at the Edmonton rappers peak of stardom.

The 17 track project will be his first album but will follow his EP series Waynes world which he last dropped in 2019 with Waynes world 3, the trilogy that had been ongoing since its first release in 2014.

The album has 11 songs that include a feature and features a total of 19 artists from all across the globe. The first feature is Ardee who appears on “With it” the single that will be released this Thursday on Grm daily.

Ardee also appears alongside Tion, Russ, E1 Bugzy Malone, Fivio Foreign, Darkoo, ZT and Buni on the remix of the chart-topping single “Body” that will appear on the album. The 3rd track features fellow Edmonton locals Drilla and ZT on the track “Anything GRR”. The 4th track features an international artist with Chicago rapper Polo G, the talented lyricist and rapper is a star with his last album Goat becoming the number 1 album in America. Regular collaborators NSG will appear alongside Tion on “Loyal“ hoping to create the same magic they created when they linked up for “Options”.

D block Europe, Raye and Afro b will feature on tracks 7,8 and 9 and the remix of Body will be track 11 with its long list of features. Tion Wayne goes back to America to collaborate with RnB superstar 6lack on his record “Spend a bag”, and links up with Nigerian artists Davido for “Who true”. The most exciting feature for many fans of UK rap is track 14 “Make it out”, the song features UK rap legends in Joe Black, Scorcher, Rimzee and Potter Payper. The lineup is an all-star UK rap showcase and will feature artists such as Scorcher and Joe Black who have gone ghost from the rap scene, with Joe black becoming a coach at his boyhood club Arsenal.

Tion Wayne has announced a Benjart collaboration in the build-up to his debut album and took a photo with the Premier league £100 million man Jack Grealish to announce the upcoming release.

The single was released by Ed Sheeran as his comeback track and currently sits at Number 1 on the official charts following its release 6 weeks ago.

The drill inspired remix features Edmonton’s Tion Wayne, West London Central cee and one of the most influential engineers in UK rap, Fumez the engineer.

Sheeran has always been a fan of UK rap coming up on channels such as SBTV, his collaboration albums have always celebrated his love from grime and UK rap and featured artists such as P Money, Wiley, Jme, Devlin and most recently on his ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’.

The 30-year-old has been working within the UK scene for over 10 years having released his first A64  on Sbtv in 2011. The SBTV founder Jamal Edwards has been very influential in helping connect Ed with the grime scene in his early stage as well as helping set up the remix for ‘Bad Habits’ and linking up Ed with his favourite drill rapper Kwengface.

Tion Wayne is no stranger to the top of the charts, releasing the first drill song to go number one this year alongside Russ on ‘Body’. The ferocious flows and energy that he brings to a track make him a perfect representative for the UK drill scene on such as big remix.

Central Cee has recently found himself to be one of the biggest artists in the country,  having charted at number 2 with his debut project ‘Wild West’ as well as receiving 4 GRM rated awards nominations for ‘Mixtape of the year’,’ Track of the year’, ‘Breakthrough of the year’ as well as ‘Male artist of the year’. His rise didn’t come out of anywhere with the west Londoner having released music for over 6 years.

Fumez the engineer helped put a drill twist to the track, alongside the beatsbycdot and Fred again. Fumez freestyle platform ‘Plugged in with fumez’ has become one of the biggest freestyle platforms in the UK rap scene, his most notable has come from Irish group A92 whose freestyle currently sits on 33 million youtube views and North London group TPL whose freestyle has 22 million views.

The single is the first from the producers upcoming album and will be his first body of work since an instrumental pack the 34-year-old released in 2012.

Steel Banglez has been one of the biggest producers in the UK music scene for the last 4 years, winning best producer at the 2017 GRM rated awards and Best Non-Traditional Asian Act at Brit Asia TV Music Awards in 2018 and 2019. The British Indian has orchestrated some of the biggest UK singles including ‘Bad’ Featuring Yungen, Mr Eazi, MoStack and Not3s which went gold, ‘Your Lovin’ featuring Mo and Yxng Bane which went silver and ‘Fashion week’ with Aj Tracey and MoStack which went Platinum peaking at number 7 in the Uk charts. 

The duo that Steel Banglez has called up for his upcoming single are two of the biggest names in the UK rap scene.

Tion Wayne has been on a recent run of hits charting at number 1 with ‘Body’ alongside frequent collaborator Russ and reaching 21st with his latest solo single ‘Wow’. Tion is a chart-topper who has had 5 UK top 10s and 10 top 40s, having recently signed a long term artist deal with Atlantic Records in late 2020.

Morrison is a UK rap vet who has been releasing bangers for nearly 10 years but has only become consistent in the last year releasing 6 singles. He recently appeared on Englands official Euro anthem ‘Olé’ alongside Krept, Konan, S1lva and M1llionz, having not yet broken into the top 40s on the official chart the East London rapper has had 3 top 50s and has amassed well over 27 million views on his own channel within in the last year, including 1.9 million views on his latest single ‘House and garage’ featuring  Aitch a song that took a new school approach on a classic grime instrumental.

‘Blama’ is set to release soon and should create some anticipation ahead of Steel Banglez album release.

The duo has sat on the top of the charts for three weeks with their drill song ‘Body’, the first drill song to go number one in the UK. The song has over 40 million Spotify streams and has continued to grow through Tiktok and the first remix which featured, Ardee, E1, ZT, Bugzy Malone, Buni, Fivio Foreign and Darkoo, and currently has 55 million Spotify streams.

This is not the drill rappers first chart success after releasing ‘Keisha & Becky’ in 2019, which similarly to ‘Body’ was followed by a remix that featured, Aitch, Swarmz, Sav’o and Jay 1, and helped the single reach number seven in the charts.

Individually Tion has had 5 top tens, the two featuring Russ, Nsgs’ ‘Options, ‘I Dunno’ with Stormzy and Dutchavelli, and a feature with Swarmz on KSIs song ‘Houdini’. Russ has had three, the two with Tion and his own single ‘Gun Lean’, which can be seen to have been one of the first commercial drill songs that gained chart success.

Jack Harlow rose to fame after the success of his single ‘What poppin’ a song that similarly to ‘Body’ was assisted and skyrocketed by its use on social media, especially TikTok. The 23-year-old who is signed to Atlantic records jumped on the drill hit with references to Chelsea American winger Christian Pulisic, Fulhams black and white kits and Bed, bath and beyond.
