The quartet shared the video yesterday with the following message: “Its been hard to keep the creative energy up in 2020 (and we’ve still got no interest in doing a livestream show). So, since we’re all stuck at home, we got some green screens and created our own digital environments for this next set of #BroadcastsFromTheInterruption.”

As described, the new video is an entirely self-made production, recorded and filmed live at the musicians’ homes over Christmas. The audio mixing was done by singer Rou Raynolds, with video editing and additional animation by lead guitarrist Rory “C” Clewlow. Credits for the original studio version of the track, and the entirety of Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible goes to the band for composition and arrangement, and a stelar production, engineering and mixing team lead by the renowned Dan Weller and Dan Lancaster.

Over the course of the unusual 2020 Enter Shikari were forced to play many videos from home, restricted by government guidelines to perform their memorable shows for live audience. Particularly active back in May, the band shared live home videos such as the ‘Sunday Brunch’ version of ‘Satelites* *‘ and also took part of the first Five4Five online festival as a symbollic headliner in support of the NHS Charities. A social media post from few days ago teased ‘The Great Unknown‘ live release as the first of the #BroadcastsFromTheInterruption series of home performances, premiering as a “festive gift” by Rory C on 26 December with more expected to follow.

Few days ago Roy Raynolds joined Luke Morton from Kerrang! for an exclusive cover story discussing the impact of the strange year for the band and the album release. The frontman went on to describe the unfamiliar situation of dropping a brand new record right at the peak of the global pandemic: “It was right at the beginning of lockdown, so it was very odd. We released an album that got our highest chart position, the biggest album of our career, just as the world was going to shit. It was such a strange cocktail of emotions. There was a lot of guilt involved: here we were making art and celebrating our biggest achievement while everything around us was crumbling.”

Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible premiered on 17 April and did go on to become their record-breaking album peaking at #2 at the UK Album Charts. As the opening track of the record, ‘The Great Unknown‘ currently has over 3,5 million streams on Spotify and over 200,000 views on YouTube.
