This instalment of his radio show is set to begin on 17th September, with the show running from 10pm-12pm on Sunday nights. In a press release, Murphy said that he will “share songs from all corners of his record collection and share why they hold a special place in his life.”

Murphy has previously hosted two instalments of Limited Edition in 2020 and 2021, and he has shared his excitement to return. In an interview on BBC Radio 6 with Nemone, Murphy shared, “It’s been a while, but I am thrilled to be back playing tunes on 6 Music, my favourite radio station in the world. The show will be a sound collage of new, old and limited edition tunes for your discerning ears. Can’t wait.”

In his previous instalments of Limited Edition, Murphy has showcased his eclectic music taste, featuring artists from Carly Simon and Marvin Gaye to Pixies and Nina Simone. He shared his interest in music with NME, discussing his band, The Sons of Mr Green Genes that he formed with his brother.

Named after a Frank Zappa song, they put together experimental songs filled with “wacky lyrics and endless guitar solos.”

Speaking on why he didn’t pursue a career in music, Murphy said, “I just never thought that I was good enough really. I like to do one thing quite well.”

Despite his self-deprecating comments, The Sons of Mr Green Genes were offered a five-album deal by Acid Jazz Records, based in London. He and his brother turned the record deal down however, citing artistic independence as their main reason.

Murphy’s return to BBC Radio 6 will mean a change in its current scheduling. The BBC confirmed that Don Letts will move his Culture Clash Radio show to Saturday nights from 9pm-11pm. Letts currently hosts his show in the slot that Cillian Murphy will be taking over from 17th September.

Letts’ show will replace The Blessed Madonna’s Saturday evening show, who recently made the “gutting decision” to lessen her work schedule amidst touring and recording.

These changes follow the news that Steve Lamacq will be stepping down from his Radio 6 show after 18 years.

It has been announced that the hit song Physical will be done by Mark Ronson and will feature Gwen Stafani and The Blessed Madonna will be doing a remix of Levitating which will feature Missy Elliot and Madonna.

There is speculation among fans who think the cover is hinting at the other guests. Some fans have guessed that the horse could imply that Kylie Minogue will feature and others believe that Normani has been cut out the image but her arm is still in the corner.

Future Nostalgia has already been a masive hit. It was the  biggest album release of 2020 so far by a British act, topping the Official Albums Chart for four weeks following its release in March. This deluxe edition is bound to be another chart topper.

Dua Lipa has also previously hinted at the possibility of the release of a B-side to Future Nostalgia. When a fan asked on an Instagram post, she replied saying; “don’t worry I got that n then some coming your way. Hold tight i’ve got enough to hold you all the way through till 2022.” Looks like Dua Lipa is ready to provide her fans with everything they need to survive the pandemic.

Future Nostalgia was released in March and is available on all platforms. Club Future Nostalgia: The Remix Album will be released on the 21st of August.

After leaving fans speculate about the possibility of Lipa’s collaboration with the one and only queen of pop Madonna, today the “Don’t Start Now” hitmaker has confirmed that the rumour is true!

Lipa will release a re-imagined version of “Levitating“, the electropop fifth track on highly acclaimed ‘Future Nostalgia‘ dropped in March. The track is a follow-up to the fourth cut “Hallucinate” that was recently promoted with an animated treatment.

The “Levitating” remix will feature pop legend Madonna on the track, alongside hip-hop icon Missy Elliot, both of whom are Lipa’s idols, as she wrote on her Instagram post: “DREAM COME TRUE.” See the post below.

To bring more excitement for the upcoming single, American DJ and musician Marea Stamper aka The Blessed Madonna will help create a new version for the tune. Recently, the DJ just changed her stage name from The Black Madonna due to the Change.org petition with 1,300 signatures requesting her to do so. Stamper has done a number of remixes for big names like Robyn (“Between the Lines“), Silk City & Dua Lipa (“Electricity“), Celeste (“Stop This Flame“), and Georgia (“About Work the Dancefloor“).

The track is set to drop on August 14 (via Warner Records). We hope the song will get a stunning, star-studded video like how this banger deserves!

Elsewhere, Lipa just achieved a life-time attainment with a nomination for The Mercury Prize. Her disco-driven ‘Future Nostalgia‘ is shortlisted for this prestigious award alongside pop fellow Charli XCX (‘how i’m feeling now‘), indie breakthrough Sports Team (‘Deep Down Happy‘), and grime hero Stormzy (‘Heavy Is the Head‘).
