Renowned for their experimental-80s’ influenced sound, The Black Queen project marks an interesting change in direction for its members. Emerging from the ashes of The Dillinger Escape Plan, the three-piece comprises frontman Greg Puciato (their former vocalist), Steven Alexander (their ex-techie) and Joshua Eustis, who played briefly as a touring member for industrial metal group Nine Inch Nails.

The band teased their upcoming LP last month in a promotional video last month, whose stark music possibly hints at a shift towards darker influences.

Ahead of the release of Infinite Games, Puciato made clear that the new album will take a more holistic approach than their debut LP, Fever Daydream. “I think it feels more conceptual as an album”, he said. “It’s less a collection of songs and more about the front to back listen. Probably because it wasn’t compiled over a four-year span of time like the last one. This one is actually hookier but more insidious, it’s a more delicate record.”

See below for one of their best-known tracks, ‘The End Where We Start’, which served as the lead single for Fever Daydream back in 2015.
