It’s the musician first new music from the forthcoming EP Fever Dreams Pt 1 out on 15th October via BMG, which is a portion of an upcoming double album with the same name.

New single “fusing the language of soul music with his roots as a ‘Mancunian glam rocker’, lyrics that could be simultaneously personal and universal, with a high energy electro sound”.  

Marr commented in a statement: “Spirit, Power and Soul is a kind of mission statement. I had an idea about an electro sound with gospel feeling, in my own words… an electro soul anthem.”

“The new EP reflects Marr’s multifaceted past but takes his music somewhere startlingly new” shared the press. It will come digitally and on limited edition 12″ silver vinyl. You can pre-order the EP here. 

“Spirit, Power and Soul” marks Johnny Marr first new release since 2019 when he dropped singles “Armatopia” and “The Bright Parade”. The last solo album Call The Comet has been released in 2018, in which he proved “that his music still holds merit and his guitar prowess still holds up after all these years”. 

The new EP Fever Dreams, Pt. 1 will be the first part of his forthcoming double album, Fever Dreams, Pts. 1 – 4. Details about the double album release have not yet been announced.

Johnny Marr was recently announced as a special guest on The Killers North America Tour which will start in August next year. Before that, he will play a few intimate the UK shows this September. More info about the tour can be found here.
