Attendees can expect a rich array of events, from live performances by esteemed composers and musicians to insightful discussions and masterclasses. The festival aims to cater to both avid soundtrack fans and general concert-goers, offering unique experiences that highlight the artistry behind some of the most memorable scores in entertainment.

What to expect:

• Opening Concert (March 19, 1:00 PM, Wigmore Hall): Cellist Richard Harwood will lead a chamber music performance featuring works by five Oscar-winning composers, including a premiere by Hildur Guðnadóttir.
• LSF Gala Concert (March 22, 7:30 PM, Royal Festival Hall): A centerpiece event honouring composer Howard Shore, recipient of the inaugural Gunning Inspiration Award, recognizing his significant contributions to film music.
• State of the Art: Games Music Concert (March 23, 5:30 PM, The Roundhouse): A dedicated concert and panel discussion focusing on contemporary video game music, reflecting the growing prominence of this genre.
• Great Movie Songs (March 25, 8:00 PM, The Roundhouse): A celebration of iconic songs from cinematic history, performed by notable artists.
• Hildur Guðnadóttir In Concert (March 26, 7:30 PM, Queen Elizabeth Hall): An intimate performance by the acclaimed composer, known for her work on ‘Joker’ and ‘Chernobyl’.

The London Soundtrack Festival was founded by concert producer, broadcaster, and musician Tommy Pearson. It draws inspiration from the late Christopher Gunning, a BAFTA-winning composer renowned for his work on ITV’s ‘Poirot’ and the film ‘La Vie En Rose’. In his honour, the festival will annually present the Gunning Inspiration Award to individuals who have made lasting impacts on music with distinction and craft.

While the London Soundtrack Festival is making its debut in 2025, it follows in the footsteps of similar events like the International Sound and Film Music Festival. The London iteration seeks to build upon this legacy, establishing itself as a premier event in the global soundtrack festival circuit.
