The young band from Melbourne fell into the spotlight in 2011 after winning the Triple J Unearthed High with track Chimera, a competition which sets out to find hidden talent amongst Australia’s youth. Tracks Chimera and Air both received high airplay from Australian alternative new music station, Triple J. Air featured on Triple J’s Hottest 100, landing 22nd.

Snakadaktal have announced that they will play an 11 date tour across Australia throughout August and September in support of their debut album. The Melbourne band supported Mercury Prize winners Alt-J on several dates across the continent in July.

The band played a string of shows across the UK in May this year featuring on The Great Escape Festival bill in Brighton and 3 dates as part of Dot to Dot festival in Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester. A UK headline tour has not yet been announced by the band.
