The collaboration was announced today (April 14^th) via Sigrid’s TikTok account, which featured a video depicting behind the scenes footage of an upcoming music video, alongside a clip of the tune. Check out the video below.

Collaboration seems to be the name of the game for Bring Me The Horizon as of late, with their prolific output in the last year or so being heavily focused on working with other artists and exploring a wider sonic palette. Their latest E.P. POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR saw the group collaborating with fellow UK alt-rocker YUNGBLUD on “Obey”, Japanese metal outfit BABYMETAL on “Kingslayer”, London punk duo Nova Twins on “1×1” and Evanescence’s Amy Lee on “One Day the Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death…”.

Later collaborations have included “Let’s Get The Party Started” with Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello and a re-working of Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” alongside the man himself. The band has also featured on the song “maybe” from Machine Gun Kelly’s latest album mainstream sellout.

On the other hand, Sigrid recently announced that she will be dropping a new album on May 6^th entitled How To Let Go, from which she has shared three singles thus far; “It Gets Dark”, “Burning Bridge” and “Mirror”.

Sigrid spoke to NME in 2021 regarding the singles she had released, speaking about how touring and spending time away from her home country influenced her writing: “I sometimes feel a bit torn between feeling at home in Norway but then also feeling at home in all of the cities like London, LA, New York and you just get a bit confused… I have to just come to terms with having homes in several places and that is a beautiful thing.”

Playing across the two main stages for the first time ever will be The Wombats, Sigrid, Beabadoobee, KSI, Sports Team, Disclosure, and Yungblud. Previously announced are the headliners: Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Post Malone, Disclosure, Liam Gallagher, and Queens Of The Stone Age. Other acts to perform are Lewis Capaldi, Two Door Cinema Club, AJ Tracey, Doja Cat, Mabel, MK, and more. The full line-up can be found below.

The Managing Director of Festival Republic, Melin Benn, spoke about the event in a press release, saying: “After an absence of a year we are delighted to announce the 2021 return to Reading’s Richfield Avenue and Leeds’ Bramham Park in 2021 with our most epic plan yet. Two main stages, six headliners, the best line up of acts 2021 will see and 200,000 fans are going to celebrate the best music in the best music festivals in Britain.”

When Reading and Leeds 2020 festival was cancelled back in May, fans were offered a plan for the future, in which they were promised that “Reading and Leeds in 2021 will be worth the wait.” The line-up included big names Liam Gallagher and Stormzy, who will return next year, along with Rage Against The Machine, Courteneers, Aitch, Sam Fender, Mahalia, and Georgia. Despite its cancellation, the festival went ahead virtually, with archived footage broadcasting on BBC iPlayer.

1.  ‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’ – Billie Eilish

Among the debut albums from breakout artists this year, ‘WWAFA, WDWG?’ by 17-year-old Billie Eilish, stood out as the most impressive and innovative record, and there’s no denying that.

The LP is well thought out and is an honest narrative of an individual from Generation Z, with lyrics about being depressed yet ironically and ridiculously dauntless.

Sonic-wise, Eilish and her brother Finneas also managed to turn trivial noises like breaking glass and a dentist’s drill in “bury a friend” or people booing and clapping in ‘Wish You Were Gay’, representing their generation’s quirkiness. From now on, many emerging—and yes, existing—artists are likely to make an effort to replicate what, ‘WWAFA, WDWG?’ has achieved.

2. ‘Music To Listen To’ – Bring Me The Horizon

The second entry in the top ten of this list is from Sheffield heavy metallers, Bring Me The Horizon. From the very long title to the surreally named track listing, ‘Music To Listen To’ deviates drastically from Bring Me The Horizon’s earlier works. That being said, this album is by far one of the best 2019 has to offer.

It stirs to memory sounds of deadmau5’s more recent discography, a fusion of electronic beats with the harsh grunginess of Tool’s latest album, ‘Fear Inocolum’.

Highlights of the album: The brass at around three minutes into ‘Steal Something’. An eerie, unsettling looped vocal sample playing for eighteen, yes, eighteen minutes as Oli Sykes delivers a haunting and reflective monologue on life over it.

The villainous ‘A Devastating Liberation’, (an instrumental reworking of ‘why you gotta kick me when I’m down?’, from ‘Amo’), and lastly, ‘Dead Dolphins’, are magnificent.

3. ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’ – Lewis Capaldi

The Glaswegian born singer-songwriter and all round funny guy released his debut album in 2019 to huge acclaim. The production values feel like warm caramel to the ears. If that’s possible…

‘Someone You Loved’ is the piano led ballad that is instantly recognizable. Capaldi’s vocal performance is much more controlled and restrained and it’s only in the chorus that his voice captures that unique husky sound that appears throughout the album.

Tracks like ‘One’, ‘Headspace’ and ‘Bruises’ illustrate Capaldi’s abilities as a songwriter and vocalist. However, it’s in ‘Hold Me While You Wait’, another piano impressive ballad, that his true vocal abilities are seen, as he builds from soft husky tonnes to a burning crescendo. Ultimately, these songs are highlights of an album that had to make the cut.

4. ‘Nothing Great About Britain’ – Slowthai

‘Nothing Great About Britain’ is the affirmation of intent from self-titled ‘Northampton’s Child’, Slowthai. The Northampton-born rapper’s debut offers a combination of punk and grime, that was released with a bang and came as a fresh of breath air.

Slowthai is a rapper that wasn’t scared to tackle issues of gravity in his debut offering, he showed no fear in speaking out against “the norm” and revealing his tender side.

The self-proclaimed “Brexit Bandit’s” debut album tackles the UK’s most important issues such as the looming withdrawal of Britain from the European Union, class inequality, and poverty. But, in a time when the British public were being bombarded with politics, Slowthai approached these heavy subjects in a light-hearted and fun way.

Tracks like ‘Slow Down’ and ‘Peace Of Mind’ tell the story of his life before his career in music and the struggles he faced growing up in poverty. The album also sees Slowthai collaborate with fellow rappers Skepta on ‘Grow Up’, Mura Masa on ‘Doorman’, and Jaykae on ‘Grow Up’. With the British grime scene experiencing one of its best years, in 2019, its no surprise that this debut offering from Slowthai  hit all the right notes, not only securing him a place on our top ten, but the coveted price of BBC Music Sound of 2019.

5. ‘No. 6′ Collaborations Project’ – Ed Sheeran

Sheeran’s contribution, ‘No. 6′ Collaborations Project’, speaks for itself! It’s a statement of Sheeran’s unarguable success in the charts right now, and it features the biggest of the biggest names in the industry.

From Eminem and 50 Cent to Justin Bieber and Stormzy, Meek Mill and Skrillex, it’s frankly incredible to remember where he started with his ‘+’ album in 2011.

‘Remember The Name’, with 50 Cent and Eminem, the Skrillex collab, ‘Way To Break Your Heart’, ‘I Don’t Care’, with Justin Bieber, and his team up with Stormzy, ‘Take Me Back To London’ are stand out features on this record.

6. ‘Amo’ – Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon’s first entry at number three. Listening to ‘Mantra’, the first glimpse into their fifth album, it felt reminiscent of ‘Can You Feel My Heart?’ from ‘Sempiternal’. It’s a heavy, mainstream, well-executed track, but pales slightly in comparison to others.

‘Nihilist Blues’, for instance, is an example of their effortless ability to transition between EDM beats and heavy rock influences. The album’s finale, ‘I Don’t Know What To Say’, opens with elegant, swaying strings, before delivering a chorus at two minutes remarkably similar to Rammstein’s epic ‘Mein Herz Brennt’.

For the fans of Bring Me The Horrizon’s earlier work, this record will take some of them in a direction they may not favour. However, if a band failed to develop musically, they’d be at risk of being left behind in the past. Bring Me The Horizon have then excelled at maturing into a group to be taken seriously.

7. ‘Grey Area’ – Little Simz

North London born, Little Simz made her triumphant return in 2019 with ‘Grey Area’ and has been regarded as the “UK’s most overlooked rapper who dares you not to stare this time.”

‘Grey Area’ is Little Simz’ third album which she said she used to experiment and explore new sounds, and reflects the “grey area” in her mid-20’s. The album sees her trying to navigate through, this “grey area”, and out the other side.

Tracks like ‘Offence’, ‘Boss’ or ‘Therapy’ have been described as seeing Simz put on a “strong, independent tone”. With the establishment of this new sound, one might think all tracks sound alike, but no two songs are the same, on “Grey Area”. Meanwhile, on the track ‘Sherbet Sunset’, Simz lays all her cards on the table by laying out her struggle, which sees her leaving herself open and vulnerable.

Simz concludes the album with a reflective track, ‘Flowers’, which features the soulful vocals of Michael Kiwanuka. The track sees Simz close, a hugely successful return, with an impassioned rap about the artists that have sadly left us – such as Amy Winehouse – with whom she said she shares a kindred spirt. It can only be described as touching conclusion to a victorious return.

8. ‘Sucker Punch’ – Sigrid

Another remarkable debut record of 2019 belongs to Norwegian synthpop star Sigrid. As suggested in the title, ‘Sucker Punch’, the LP is filled with killer hooks and thunderous sounds thrown out of Sigrid’s wide-ranging voice.

Similar to Billie Eilish, whom she beat on BBC Sound of 2018, Sigrid successfully crafted a story of a modern-day teenager who experiences doubt, delight, and desperation in life and falling in and out of love.

9. ‘Pony’ – Rex Orange County

Alexander O’Connor is no stranger when it comes to talking about feelings and deep thoughts. In ‘Pony’, O’Connor keeps extending his soft-boy persona, using his sharp skills of lyricism to explore what it feels like to be a man in the 21st century.

While many songs on the album are devoted to his genuine affection for his girlfriend, Thea Morgan-Murrell, he still manages to slip his criticism of fame and the idea of masculinity in. The record, therefore, is not only like a hot soothing tea to the ears but also a hard-to-swallow pill – like the truth you are afraid to hear.

10. ‘Hyperspace’ – Beck

Pop music, to many, is somehow considered a less cool genre to listen to, but the king of alternative music’s fourteenth studio album, ‘Hyperspace’, has proved that pop music can be cool after all.

‘Hyperspace’ is a follow-up to Beck’s 2017 initial venture into pop music, ‘Colours’. It seems like he can’t shake the fun to make pop album so much that he asked pop monster producers Pharrell Williams and Greg Kurstin to help him craft one more gigantic pop record.

The result is the synth-heavy album that balances the pop elements with alternative lyricism. These 11 tracks offer such perfect sonic coherency and heart-warming voice of Beck that bring us to the space of hyperexcitement.

The annual spectacular, that is Capital’s Summertime Ball, will be returning to Wembley Stadium, on Saturday the 8th of June 2019. Among the names announced, this morning (May 01) was Rita Ora, Anne Marie, Sigala, Tom Walker, Jax Jones, and, Norwegian singer and BBC Sound of 2018 winner, Sigrid.

Sigrid has described playing the iconic London landmark, that is Wembley, as “insane”. Meanwhile, Speaking about her performance at the Summertime Ball, in June, Sigrid, said: “I’m going to love it. I probably should say that I have a masterplan but I think we’re going to run up and have fun and play our favourite songs.”

They will share the stage with the recently reunited US pop group the Jonas Brothers, with their appearance at the Summertime Ball marking their first UK show in ten years. The band recently dropped new track ‘Sucker’, taken from their forthcoming album, ‘Hippieness Begins’, which will be released the day before the Summertime Ball – Friday the 7th of June 2019.

The series of big reveals kicked off, on Monday (April 29), with the first six artists being revealed including Halsey – who won the Rising Star award at this year’s Global Awards. Among the other names announced, on Monday, were Mark Ronson, 5 Seconds of Summer, Ellie Goulding, and Khalid.

Six more acts will be revealed everyday of the week until the full line-up is revealed. Meanwhile, on Tueday (April 30), Roman Kemp revealed that Maroon 5; Jess Glynne; Ava Max; Lauv; Jonas Blue; and Mabel, will be heading the Summertime Ball, next month. It has been revealed that one final massive name will be revealed on Thursday, (May 02), morning’s show.

Today’s reveal comes after Capital announced, at the weekend, that they would be using billboards across the UK to reveal the acts that will be performing at this year’s Summertime Ball. They also revealed that they would be enlisting the help of listeners to reveal the acts that were on the billboards, by getting them to get in touch with the station, by sending in photos of the names displayed on the billboards.

Speaking about the series of big reveals, Founder & Executive President of Global, Ashley Tabor OBE, said: “Today we kicked off our massive reveal week on Capital Breakfast by announcing some of the world’s biggest artists for Capital’s Summertime Ball.

“We are especially excited to confirm the news that so many fans have been waiting for – the Jonas Brothers are returning to the UK and playing the Ball. We’re only just getting started and we can’t wait to reveal yet more huge acts for the UK’s hottest summer party on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp tomorrow morning!”

The announcement comes just a few days ahead of the singer hitting the road with Brit winner, George Ezra, as his support act. The 22-year-old’s live shows are jaw-dropping affairs. The Norweigan-born star is set to commence her eight-day tour, in Dublin, on the 22nd of November 2019, before culminating, with a show, in London, on the 4th of December 2019. The singer will make here way across the UK hitting Dublin, Leeds, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, and London.

Sigrid’s debut album, ‘Sucker Punch’, will hit shelves on the 8th of March 2019, and is set to be an early contender for Album of the Year. Speaking to extra, about the album, the singer referred to the entire album as a “time capsule”, inspired by her life.

The festival is widely recognised as being the country’s premier music, camping and surfing lifestyle event, and sells out to capacity crowds each year and continues to grow in popularity. Sea Sessions have revealed the first wave of acts for 2019 with a trio of headline acts that include Sigrid, Clean Bandit, and Two Dorr Cinema Club.

Joining the trio of headliners, to complete the first wave of stellar acts, will be Wild Youth, Hermitage Green, Le Boom, DJ Hype, Columbia Mills, and Montauk Hotel, with more to be announced soon. Sea Sessions, Surf & Music Festival continues to go from strength to strength, was originally established in 2008, as an after party for a Surfing Competition. Since then the event has made itself one the foremost festival experiences in the country, having previously played host to the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Paul Weller and many more in the past decade.

Based on the coastline in Bundoran in Donegal, Sea Sessions has still stayed true to its roots whilst incorporated the more grand festival elements to it, and is now the holder of the top surfing competition in Ireland as well as hosting the world’s top skateboarders, BMX’ers and a host of other beach sports over the course of the weekend.

Norwegian songstress, Sigrid has emerged as one of this years fastest-rising European talents. She will be no stranger to Irish shores having already played at The Olympia, Longitude and Electric Picnic this year, with a massive show at the 3Arena also scheduled in for next year.

Completing the trio of headliners, Two Door Cinema Club’s back catalogue of hits and three top-selling albums make them perfect to play the summer festival. Meanwhile Grammy-winning Clean Bandit have rapidly become one of the hottest electronic bands in the world and look set to build upon that with their sophomore record ‘What Is Love?’ , which is set to be released on the 30th of November 2018.

Speaking about the line-up, festival director, Ray O’Donoghue said: “We’re delighted to have booked such a strong bunch of acts and we’ve a couple of surprises still up our sleeves. Sigrid is a bonafide Pop-Star in the making, Clean Bandit have a bunch of huge hits and we’re big fans of Two Door Cinema Club. Last year was unbelievable and probably the best Sea Sessions yet, we’re hoping we can go one better again for 2019. Bring on the summer.”
