Kylie Minogue’s upcoming BST Hyde Park gig marks her first appearance at the festival in nine years, following her headline performance in 2015 while promoting her 12th studio album, ‘Kiss Me Once.’ 

Minogue joins a prestigious lineup of previously confirmed headliners including Shania Twain (July 7), Andrea Bocelli (July 5), Robbie Williams (July 6), and Stray Kids (July 14), with further artists expected to be announced in the coming months. Tickets for the event are set to go on sale next Wednesday (February 21)and are available here, with a pre-sale available on Monday (February 19), sponsored by American Express.

In addition to her performance at BST Hyde Park, Minogue was recently announced as the recipient of the BRIT Awards’ 2024 global icon award, further cementing her legacy as a trailblazer in the music industry. The singer delighted ticket holders when he debuted two new songs during his set. The 28-year-old singer performed tracks from his upcoming album, “Boyfriends” and “Late Night Talking”. Before Styles proceeded to perform “Boyfriends” the singer had a message for the crowd, “Who in the audience has ever had a boyfriend? Who in the audience has never had a boyfriend? To boyfriends everywhere, f*** you.”

The former One Direction member also spoke to the audience earlier in his set, Styles said, “It’s big in here, innit? For the next 80-or-something minutes, our job is to entertain you. I promise you we’ll do our absolute very best. You also have one job — that is to have much fun as you possibly can. I want you to be whoever it is you always wanted to be in this field tonight. We have a full moon, you have a ticket and I have to play.”

The “Watermelon Sugar” singer’s set was full of excitement; halfway through the performance Styles welcomed a special guest. The singer was joined on stage by Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain, which saw the duo performing two of Twain’s biggest hits “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” and “You’re Still The One”. As the pair treated the audience to two duets, Styles spoke enthusiastically about Twain and described her influence, “This lady taught me to sing. She also told me that men are trash.”

The Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter returned the favour and spoke on her relationship with Styles and his music, “I’m a bit starstruck, what can I say? No, really, I’m a fan of you, of course. I know that when I was writing this song, you were just a little kid. It’s kind of a dream and very surreal to be sitting here right now to sing this song with you. I think I’m just in love and this song is all about love. So let’s just sing about love.”

The two new songs included within Styles’ set will soon be available to own. The singer’s third solo album Harry’s House is set to be released on 20th May 2022. The album’s first single “As It Was” was released at the start of the month and made headlines when it debuted at number one on the UK singles charts. This week the single celebrated a second week at number one and has continued to be crowned the most-streamed song of the week.

Speaking about the new styles incorporated in ‘NOW’, Twain, said: I’m experimenting more with grooves. It’s probably influenced more by my son. Because he’s 15, I’m always hearing the stuff he’s doing and working on and listening to. And I love dance as well. I love happy music. That definitely crept in more. Then there’s more of that now than the rock that was heavier in my earlier albums, that Mutt and I both loved. But on this one, there’s some lighter things for sure than I’ve done in the past.”

“Even when I was realizing maybe I could record another album, then the fear was, “Where do I begin?” For the last 15 years I’ve been collaborating with the same person. Now all of a sudden I’m alone. I’m starting over. And I don’t know where to begin. I don’t even know anybody that I’ve been working with over 15 years. I just don’t know what to do. I was lost. “Home Now” is a reflection of that feeling of being lost and just I don’t know what to do and where to go. So it took a while to build up the courage to even share the songs. Once I did start sharing them, the demos [with] just the song-writing, the responses were really powerful and I thought, “You know what, I’m gonna try to do this alone. I’m gonna write the most honest experiences and emotions that I can in these songs,” says Twain, speaking about why it was important for her to write this album alone.
