Bring Me The Horizon have announced the next chapter of their Post Human series of releases with the announcement of their new single ”DiE4u”.

Having previously teased fans with new lyrics and snippets of new music, now the Sheffield group have announced that a new track “DiE4u” will drop on Thursday, September 16, and can be pre-saved for listening here.

The announcement was accompanied by the message “club hellhole opens September 16”, leading fans to speculate whether the choice of words may refer to possible new lyrics or a record title.

This comes after the band recently shared a video with the caption “bAck2wORk” also sharing a snippet of new music with the hashtag “#bloodbath”. They also posted on their Twitter not that long ago the phrase “i k33p h0LdiNG my breATh 4 a m1raCle. h0piNg thE hoLe iN my hEarT w0ULd oF hEaleD s0m3h0W”. Fans will be hoping that all the mysteries will be revealed in the upcoming release.

Last October, the band released their Post Horror: Human Survival EP which was meant to be the first of several releases. As revealed in an interview with NME at the beginning of the year, frontman Oli Sykes said that they were “working on parts two, three and four simultaneously” and were hoping to “get songs out as soon as we can.”

Bring Me The Horizon will also be performing at Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month this September while their Post Human: Survival Horror UK tour is set to start on September 18.

In other news, Sykes also recently appeared on a track with Australian emo artist Daine which he called his favourite collaboration to date. Sharing a video of him listening to “Salt”, Sykes admitted, “I love this song so much I headbutted my phone at the end”.

Paul Cook the drummer for iconic punk band the Sex Pistols has said that the band is “probably gone for good” due to the ongoing legal dispute with John Lydon.

Lydon or Johnny Rotten as most of their fans know him is being sued by two of his former bandmates, Cook and guitarist Steve Jones. This is because he refused to license the group’s music for inclusion in a biopic series by Danny Boyle titled ‘Pistol’.

The Pistols’ first bassist Glen Matlock and the estate of late bassist Sid Vicious both support their music being featured in Boyle’s show. Lydon, however, argues that the licensing cannot be granted without his consent.

Cook whilst giving evidence at the London High Court yesterday (July 20), was as reported in the Mail asked by Lydon’s representative whether Sex Pistols were “gone for good”. In response, he replied: “Probably”.

It is claimed by both Cook and Jones that the band had a “majority rules agreement” in place over the rights to the band’s material. “I thought that our relationship with John would get worse when we used it,” In his witness statement Cook said. “Maybe Steve [Jones] and I have been too nice to John over the years in trying to maintain good relations and that we should have been tougher.”

He then added, “I am unhappy that he would behave like this over an important personal project for Steve, particularly as we have always backed his personal projects.”Mark Cunningham QC, Lydon’s representative, told Cook “You don’t much care how John cares about the Pistol project.” To which he replied, “No, you’re wrong.”

Boyle’s series will be a six-parter based on the 2016 memoir Lonely Boy: Tales From a Sex Pistol, written by Steve Jones’ which Lydon‘s lawyer claimed: “depicts him in a hostile and unflattering light”. This was particularly in reference to a passage in the book that describes him as an “annoying little brat with the great bone structure who’s always asking for more”.

Lydon first let his feelings known about the project in April, calling it the “most disrespectful shit I’ve ever had to endure”. He told The Sunday Times that no one asked for his participation or consent. “Speaking in court, however, Cook denied “concealing” the TV project from Lydon. “He had plenty of time to get on board,” he claimed.”

Here are some details for those who are interested in watching the series. From the Director of Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting among others, Boyle’s ‘Pistol’ stars Game of Thrones‘ actress Maisie Williams as Jordan Mooney (aka Pamela Rooke) and Babyteeth‘s Toby Wallace as Jones. Anson Boon will play Lydon, while Louis Partridge depicts the late Vicious. It is planned to be broadcast on Disney-owned channel FX next year.

Amazon Music has released a brand new series called ‘Produced By’. This four-episode series has the goal of showcasing how a producer works behind the scenes. And which producer to pick better than Fraser T Smith? His curriculum sees the collaborations with non-other than Adele, Sam Smith, James Morrison, Taio Cruz and Stormzy.

The short documentaries are available now and feature the appearances of emerging artists Avelino, Mysie, Joy Crookes and Easy Life. Fraser commented on the docu-series: ‘The Amazon Music ‘Produced By’ format is such a revolutionary gift, to be able to show people the process of making the record whilst making the best EP I could possibly make. Bringing these artists together for this project has been an exciting and cathartic process. I chose four artists who are going to make a huge dent in 2021’.

The artists too are mesmerized by having worked with a Grammy winning producer. For instance, North London rapper Avelino said ‘This was an overdue link up with a creative and executive that I respect very highly’ and R&B English artist Mysie though that ‘Working with Fraser has been amazing. Through our mentorship, I’ve learned so much about myself – not only as a musician – but as a human’.

Born in England’s Buckinghamshire, the fifty-year-old producer started his career by performing in local pubs as a solo musician or with different bands. In the early 2000s, Smith decided to focus entirely on his songwriting and production skills. This choice brought him nominations and successes from Grammys and Brits Awards, with the productions he worked for winning from MOBO Awards’ Best Album to Latin Grammy Awards’ Record of the Year. During the COVID pandemic, he was the man behind the scene producing the viral version of Foo Fighters’ ‘Time Like These’, featuring many internationally acclaimed artists recording from their homes.

Amazon is currently working on a full documentary on Fraser T Smith, following his process step by step and featuring interventions of Craig David, Rita Ora and more. You can find ‘Produced By’ here.
