Shortly after exciting fans with the news of the S Club reunion tour in February this year, former member Paul Cattermole sadly passed away at age 46 due to an underlying heart condition. After the news of Cattermole’s death, fellow bandmate and former girlfriends Hannah Spearritt dropped out of the tour, leaving the 5 remaining members to hit the road under the new name S Club.

On the opening night of the tour, S Club delighted their fans by performing their classic hits such as “Don’t Stop Moving”, “Have You Ever” and “Reach”. In addition to their set, the group took some time to pay tribute to their late bandmate.

As a montage of images of Cattermole flooded the arena screen, S Club member Bradley McIntosh informed the crowd “That’s our brother right there, man. Gone but you’ll never be forgotten. We miss you every single day”

As part of the show, the S Club members left the stage as a video of Paul Cattermole singing their song “Good Times” played. The singers then rejoined the stage to sing the end of the song before paying individual tributes.

Rachel Stevens told the crowd “Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support, all the incredible messages you’ve sent through this time, and all your support always. We love you so much.”

Tina Barrett, also paying tribute said “Thank you so much Manchester. Tonight is a celebration so let’s bring it all back for Paul.”

Band member Jon Lee added “Thank you so much, it’s very special for us this evening obviously, we dedicate this performance to Paul and to the British Heart Foundation so thank you so much for being here.”

Finally, Jo O’Meara stated “Thank you so much [for] all the messages and love and support you’ve all shown all of us and to Paul’s family. We are so grateful for every single one of you.”

On the S Club official Instagram, the band shared the news of their latest single along with a video montage of their “favourite moments”. They wrote, “These Are The Days’ is finally out now! We hope you love the track as much as we do, and get to reminisce with us on all your favourite moments with friends and loved ones. This was a true labour of love and the experience of creating it together was so special. This one’s for you, Paul.

A few weeks before the death of bandmate Paul Cattermole, S Club announced a reunion tour for this year. The band confirmed, however, that they will still be going ahead with tour. However, Hannah Spearritt will not be joining the other members on the tour. The 15-date UK tour has been renamed as the S Club: The Good Times Tour in tribute to Paul Cattermole as he sang the lead vocals on the song “Good Times”.

Formed by the Spice Girls’ former manager Simon Fuller, S Club 7 had their own BBC television sitcom Miami 7 to which sparked their rise to fame. The television sitcom was aimed at a younger audience lasting for four seasons and was watched by over 90 million viewers at home.

Over the course of the band’s career, S Club 7 recorded four studio albums and have released 11 singles. In 2000, they won the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act, and won Best British Single in 2002.

After the departure of Paul Cattermole in 2002 to join a metal band, the group renamed themselves as S Club, removing the 7 from their name. Ultimately, they disbanded in 2003.

S Club’s Good Times Tour will begin on October 12 in Manchester and have concerts in cities including Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham, and London.
