The song was a record-breaking track that took the UK drill genre to an international level that it previously hadn’t reached, the track was the first Drill track to ever go number 1 in the UK and had a continuous run of 3 weeks at the yop of the UK charts.

The track had help from the remix which featured 3x3E1, ZT, Buggzy Malone, Fivio Foreign, Darkoo, Buni and Ardee, whose lyrics “Have you seen the state of her body(Mad) if I beat it I ain’t wearing a johnny. Adeola wanna roll with a geezer” had a big influence on the virality of the moment, with people using the sound on Tiktok and other apps. The remix currently sits on 79 million youtube views with the original sitting on a still respectable 60 million views.

The Hashtag #bodyremix has more than 200 million views on the app, BBC 1xtra broke the news and were told by the rappers behind the hit that “Tiktok is the new thing, man.” ”It’s great to see everyone get together and make trends go viral. Everyone got involved, We appreciate it.”

Body’s virality made it an international track, the song went number 1 not only in the UK but in Australia, Ireland and New Zealand, as well as this the track went 2x platinum in Australia, platinum in Canada, gold in Denmark, platinum in Italy, gold in Portugal and platinum in the UK. The song didn’t only go viral online but became an international hit.

Since the release of the track, Tion has gone on to release his debut album Green With Envy which featured the chart-topping track as well as tracks alongside the likes of Arrdee, Polo G, NSG, D-block Europe, Raye, Afro B, Davido, 6lack, Joe Black, Rimzee, Scorcher and Potter Payper. A project that debuted 5th on the official charts, Tion also went to feature on the remix of Ed Sheeran’s chart-topper “Bad Habits” which sat at number one for 11 weeks and featured a remix with Tion Wayne, Central Cee and Fumez the engineer.

Russ hasn’t been as active since the release of “Body” having dropped appeared on 4 singles, 3 of which were the rappers solo singles and one which featured Raye and wewantwraiths and was a single by producer duo Dabeatfreaks. Russ singles were titled “6:30” which currently sits on just over 9.5 million Spotify streams, “Exciting” with 4 million Spotify streams and “Baby Shark” which currently has 24 million Spotify streams.

The clip shows chart-topper Russ as a toddler in a living room getting told off by the female rapper out of East London, Steff London.

The teaser comes as a shock to many fans of the UK rap scene, as during the period which saw Steff Londons brother Dutchavellis Instagram DMs being leaked, a conversation between the 29-year-old performer and her brother saw the female rapper refer to Russ as a ‘baby shark’ rapper when her brother suggested Russ jumping on a remix. The star born in Belgium replied ‘He has to sit this one out star’  making reference to the viral children song ‘baby shark’ in reference to the high amount of views Russ receives.

Russ has recently solidified himself as one of the most commercially successful artists in the UK rap scene, charting at no.1 alongside Edmonton rapper Tion Wayne on their viral hit ‘Body’. The hit was the first Drill song to ever go no.1 and stayed there for 3 weeks.

Steff London has had a big 2021 featuring alongside some of the biggest global stars including Saweetie, Doja Cat, Tiwa Savage and Yxng Bane.

The duo are certified chart-toppers sharing 3 UK top 10s between themselves, their upcoming collaboration will be expected to have a similar impact as their previous individual hits.

The duo has sat on the top of the charts for three weeks with their drill song ‘Body’, the first drill song to go number one in the UK. The song has over 40 million Spotify streams and has continued to grow through Tiktok and the first remix which featured, Ardee, E1, ZT, Bugzy Malone, Buni, Fivio Foreign and Darkoo, and currently has 55 million Spotify streams.

This is not the drill rappers first chart success after releasing ‘Keisha & Becky’ in 2019, which similarly to ‘Body’ was followed by a remix that featured, Aitch, Swarmz, Sav’o and Jay 1, and helped the single reach number seven in the charts.

Individually Tion has had 5 top tens, the two featuring Russ, Nsgs’ ‘Options, ‘I Dunno’ with Stormzy and Dutchavelli, and a feature with Swarmz on KSIs song ‘Houdini’. Russ has had three, the two with Tion and his own single ‘Gun Lean’, which can be seen to have been one of the first commercial drill songs that gained chart success.

Jack Harlow rose to fame after the success of his single ‘What poppin’ a song that similarly to ‘Body’ was assisted and skyrocketed by its use on social media, especially TikTok. The 23-year-old who is signed to Atlantic records jumped on the drill hit with references to Chelsea American winger Christian Pulisic, Fulhams black and white kits and Bed, bath and beyond.

The two U.K drill heavyweights have linked up for the first time since Digga D featured on Russ’ ‘Gun Lean Remix’ back in January. Both showcasing their unique sounds, ‘Mr. Sheeen’ is a fusion of two of the hottest drill flows right now. The bassy 808 drums and guqin style strings make this track a certified headbanger. Metaphorically associating their semi-autos to the brand of cleaning products the chorus hits different, “The semi-auto ain’t clean, pull up and spray like Mr. Sheen”.

From wearing orange community service vests to riding in a drop top Jeep, ‘Mr. Sheeen’ shows the come up of the two rappers. Keeping the orange aesthetic as a constant feature throughout, Suave’s vision allows him to add another creative video to his portfolio.

Russ received mainstream exposure when his ‘Gun Lean’ anthem was released last December. The catchy hook accompanied by the easy-to-learn dance took the U.K by storm and became an instant hit. Prompting Canadian drill fan, Drake to bring him out at the Assassination Vacation Tour in London’s O2 arena. Reaching the Top 10 Singles chart along with his second single ‘Keisha & Becky’, this success landed the young rapper from Lewisham his first major label deal with Virgin Music.

After releasing his hit single, ‘Air Force’ last year, it has been nothing but success for Digga D. His debut mixtape, Double Tap Diaries was released in April and features his latest, equally as catchy single ‘No Diet’. Double Tap Diaries has already become the highest charting project from a solely drill artist in the U.K, breaking records independently with ease.
