The brand new issue is set to be released later this month on Friday February 28, the same date the original album was released back in 2000. The album will be available on a limited-edition vinyl in a silver LP, and on official store-exclusive blue and purple marble LP.

The album reissue will mark the band’s first release since 2008 with their last album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’.

‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’ was released during a pivotal time for the brothers as it was their first release under their own label Big Brother Recordings LTD. The label was launched in 2000 after the sudden closure of Oasis’ label Creation Records.

To celebrate the re-release as well as the anniversary of the album’s first single ‘Go Let It Out’ on February 7, the Mancunian band surprised their fans with a brand new lyric video for the occasion.

The album was a huge step for Oasis as it was their first experimentation with more modern-psychedelic rock-influenced sound, something new for the piece.

The band’s work reached No.1 in the UK Album Chart, selling over 310,000 copies in just its first week out. It has now been certified double platinum whilst having sold over 200,000 copies in the US. The LP will also feature some of the group’s most iconic songs such as ‘F***in’ In The Bushes’, ‘Where Did It All Go Wrong?’ and ‘Gas Panic’.

Meanwhile, the Gallaghers are getting ready to go back on tour with Oasis Live ’25, giving millions of fans what they have been eagerly waiting for since 2009. Indeed, the band was the UK’s most searched for artist in 2024 after announcing they had buried the hatchet and would reunite the band to hit the road in 2025.

Their tour will include seven sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, five homecoming shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park, and will include dates in Ireland, Australia, Japan, North Korea, North America and South America.

The countdown is set on the famous band’s website to show how many days are left before they make history again.

The ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ author is set to play some intimate shows in venues all over the UK, kicking off on March 18 at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham. Tickets are set to go on sale at 9am GMT on Friday 7 via TicketMaster.

The 79-year-old Blues Rock legend will be going on tour in support of one of his 2024 album ‘New Arrangements And Duets’ which is an album made out of songs from Morrison’s archive. Morrison’s album contains duets of all sorts with names such as Joss Stone, Curtis Stigers and Kurt Elling. One name Van was the most thrilled about was Willie Nelson, 91-year-old Folk legend, with whom he shares the two songs ‘What’s Wrong With This Picture?’ and ‘Steal My Heart Away’.

In a talk with The Sun, the artist shared: “It had been on my mind to do a duet with Willie Nelson for a long, long time but I didn’t get the opportunity. It was absolutely fantastic. Very relaxing and very professional. Willie came in and delivered. I played those songs for him and he was into them. There’s not a lot of pondering with this stuff. The less back and forth the better. Willie covers all the bases and, to me, he’s very similar to Ray Charles. I like his work and I heard he liked mine.”

‘New Arrangements And Duets’ broadcasts a small percentage of the huge amount of unreleased music Morrison still has under his belt. Working alongside Paul Moran and Chris White on the songs that needed big band arrangements, leading an array of vocalists and paying tributes to places like Belfast, the Harland and Wolff shipyard as well as people like his father and the love the latter had for jazz music. The solo artist played a sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall in late 2024 which received a four-star review from The Independent.

Set to play in his hometown of Belfast at the Whitla Hall venue at the end of the month, the singer added an extra date due to the high demand.

18/03/25 – Royal Concert Hall – Nottingham

19/03 – Symphony Hall – Birmingham

23/03 – New Theatre Oxford – Oxford

24/03 – The Subscription Rooms – Stroud

The tour will end at the Adelphi Theatre in London on September 30.

The Jam emerged in the Britain in the early 1970s and was one of the defining acts of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Known for their energetic blend of punk, mod, and new wave influences, The Jam’s music captured the essence of British youth culture during that era. Their lyrics were topical, often reflecting the social and political landscape of their time.

The Jam rose to prominence with hits like Going Underground and Town Called Malice.

The band has not performed together since the final concert of their tour which took place in Brighton on the 11th of December, 1982.  This was the “The Gift Tour,” named after their last studio album, The Gift. The Jam decided to disband at the height of their popularity, following the surprising announcement that Paul Webber, the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter, was leaving the band. After this show, The Jam officially split.

Since the split, Foxton has been part of the band Stiff Little Fingers, as well as joining a tribute band for his original group, titled From The Jam, who have been playing tracks from the iconic group since 2006.

The group is formed of Foxton, as well as lead vocalist and guitarist Russel Hastings, drummer Mike Randon, and keyboardist Andy Fairclough.

From The Jam are midway through a major tour. The 2024 tour, marking the 45th anniversary of The Jam’s iconic Setting Sons album, began in October 2023 and will continue through various dates across the UK in 2024 and 2025. They have 29 more tour dates spread across UK, with their final performance taking place in Belfast on the 17th of May, 2025.

However, at 10am on the 20th of August, Foxton made a heartbreaking announcement to fans that ongoing health conditions and a sudden hospital procedure has forced him to take a step back from the band:

It is with much regret and sadness that I will not be able to perform again with From the Jam until I have made a full recovery

Foxton has been open about his various health conditions in the past, telling Guitar World in 2023 of a recent cancer scare, saying: ‘My main hope for the future now is good health. I’ve had a scare with a lymph node being cancerous, but so far, so good, and I’m having immunotherapy treatment.” Despite this, Foxton continued to perform with From The Jam when his health allowed.

Foxton has also been open about his struggle with tinnitus, a condition causing ringing in the ears which is not uncommon among musicians due to their frequent exposure to load sounds. In 2019 he revealed that he had started wearing hearing aids due to the effects of chronic tinnitus.

On his condition, Foxton said: “I am not completely deaf but I do suffer from high-frequency hearing loss. I’ve had tinnitus for years now and I have actually succumbed to wearing a hearing aid occasionally.”

From The Jam will continue their tour without Foxton, with the hopes that his time off will help him make a full recovery.

The band are widely known for popular hits including Don’t Stop Believin’, Any Way You Want It, and Open Arms, to name just a few.

Journey were meant to embark on a 50th annivaersay tour which would have taken them to the UK and Ireland in October and November of 2024, accompanied by the special guests Cheap Tricks. This tour would have been the first time the band would have performed in the UK in over a decade.

However, on the 6th of August the band released a very short statement, as reported by Planet Rock:

Due to circumstances beyond the band’s control, Journey’s UK and Ireland tour is unfortunately cancelled. Refunds will be made from your point of purchase.

The Tour would have started off at the Cardiff Utilita Arena on Wednesday 30th October and would have included dates in Nottingham, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and Newcastle before finishing with a performance at the London O2 on Sunday 17th November.

The cancellation has not been well received by fans and ticket holders, with many angered by the band’s lack of explanation.

While the band have not comment on the reasoning behind the tour cancellation, it is occurring just days after keyboardist Jonathan Cain sued guitarist Neal Schon in the latest in an ongoing series of legal battles.

This is not the first time the pair has taken legal action against one another. In 2022 Schon filed a cease and desist order to stop Cain from playing the hit Don’t Stop Believin’ at a Trump event at Mar-a-Lago. Cain had performed the anthem alongside notable members of the Republican party, including Marjorie Taylor Greene and Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Song rights is not the only source of friction between the band mates. As reported by Guitar, the legal battles began in earnest back in 2022 when Schon sued Cain over grievances related to budgeting and spending, claiming that Cain prevented him from accessing the band’s American Express card. Cain filed a counter-suit, arguing that it was essential to prevent Schon from “misusing” Journey’s card.

Finances and spending habits remain the cause of the pair’s most recent suit which is outlined in court dockets reported by Bloomberg Law. The dockets indicate that Cain is suing Schon over excessive spending on the road, claiming that the guitarist’s expenses, such as hotel rooms, have gone beyond the budget they had previously agreed upon.

Cain’s attorney, Sid Liebesman, made a statement that was reported by Real Rock News: “none of the parties are seeking any form of damages. It is Jon’s intent for Journey to continue providing great live music throughout the current tour.”
