S Club have officially kicked off their highly anticipated reunion tour, with their first show in eight years at Manchester’s AO Arena on October 12th. The tour celebrates the 25th anniversary of the group, formally known as S Club 7. The performance in Manchester was a preview show to the group’s Good Times tour, and raised money in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

Shortly after exciting fans with the news of the S Club reunion tour in February this year, former member Paul Cattermole sadly passed away at age 46 due to an underlying heart condition. After the news of Cattermole’s death, fellow bandmate and former girlfriends Hannah Spearritt dropped out of the tour, leaving the 5 remaining members to hit the road under the new name S Club.

On the opening night of the tour, S Club delighted their fans by performing their classic hits such as “Don’t Stop Moving”, “Have You Ever” and “Reach”. In addition to their set, the group took some time to pay tribute to their late bandmate.

As a montage of images of Cattermole flooded the arena screen, S Club member Bradley McIntosh informed the crowd “That’s our brother right there, man. Gone but you’ll never be forgotten. We miss you every single day”

As part of the show, the S Club members left the stage as a video of Paul Cattermole singing their song “Good Times” played. The singers then rejoined the stage to sing the end of the song before paying individual tributes.

Rachel Stevens told the crowd “Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support, all the incredible messages you’ve sent through this time, and all your support always. We love you so much.”

Tina Barrett, also paying tribute said “Thank you so much Manchester. Tonight is a celebration so let’s bring it all back for Paul.”

Band member Jon Lee added “Thank you so much, it’s very special for us this evening obviously, we dedicate this performance to Paul and to the British Heart Foundation so thank you so much for being here.”

Finally, Jo O’Meara stated “Thank you so much [for] all the messages and love and support you’ve all shown all of us and to Paul’s family. We are so grateful for every single one of you.”

Tickets for the rest of S Club’s Good Times tour are available here.

The news comes with the releasing of a single from the upcoming album, “The Narcissist“, an uplifting, alternative rock track that is lyrically both bittersweet and retrospective.

Listen to “The Narcissist” below:

The album announcement follows the recent news that the Britpop heavyweights will play a series of small UK warm-up shows this month, starting tonight in Colchester, that will precede a run of European dates and, on July 8th and 9th, a couple of huge Wembley shows.

Fans of the 90s icons will undoubtedly be astonished by the arrival of a new album that will immediately follow a reunion tour, perhaps even more so than the announcement of the reunion itself back in November last year.

The Ballad Of Darren is set to be Blur’s ninth studio album and their first in eight years, following the release of The Magic Whip in 2015. The LP was recorded at Studio 13 in London and was produced by Frontman Damon Albarn’s long-term collaborating partner James Ellis Ford.

Albarn, on the retrospective nature of the record, told NME that the album has “reflection and comment[s] on where we find ourselves now“, and has described the release as an “aftershock record“. Guitarist Graham Cox added, “The older and madder we get, it becomes more essential that what we play is loaded with the right emotion and intention. Sometimes just a riff doesn’t do the job“.

Blur were formed in London in 1988, with Damon Albarn on lead vocals, Graham Cox on guitar, Alex James on bass and Dave Rowntree on drums, and the ever-present quartet will be the same come July. The group released their debut album, the shoegaze heavy Leisure, in 1991, and transitioned to a more guitar pop orientated style with their next three releases, Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993), Parklife (1994), and The Great Escape (1995), helping kickstart the Britpop movement and creating a rivalry with Oasis in the process.

The ever-evolving group then transitioned to lo-fi indie rock with their self-titled album of 1997 before moving into a more experimental, alternative rock phase with 13 (1999) and Think Tank (2003).

Boyband JLS have discussed plans to record new music, the “Beat Again” hitmakers revealed in an interview that they wish to get back in the studio. The group embarked on their long-awaited reunion tour last year and appear eager to release new material.

The band first rose to fame in 2008 as runners up on the reality TV show The X Factor and consists of members Aston Merrygold, Oritse Williams, Marvin Humes and JB Gill. The group enjoyed great success on the charts and won numerous awards, and after seven years together the group announced that they would be disbanding. The announcement of the group’s reunion tour was made in 2020, the Beat Again tour was sadly postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking to HELLO! Magazine Gill discussed their future touring plans and any possible new releases, “We probably won’t tour again this year, but with the success of ‘Beat Again’ and our latest album, I’m sure we’ll be working on new material soon.” The singer then continued to describe his children’s reaction to the group’s music, “The kids love seeing their daddy up on stage so we don’t really have a choice whether we do another JLS tour or not.”

Within the statement which announced the disbanding, JLS confirmed that they would release a new compilation album and finish their final headlining arena tour before officially splitting up. The group’s ‘farewell’ record, Goodbye- The Greatest Hits, was released on 18th November 2013 via RCA Records and included the group’s best-loved songs as well as a new single. The track “Billion Lights” was released on 17th November 2013 and reached number 19 on the UK singles charts.

Rumours concerning the band’s reunion began to circulate in 2019, and an announcement was made the following year which confirmed the group’s plan to reunite. On 12th February 2020, a statement was made confirming their reconciliation and included dates for their Beat Again Tour. In 2021, JLS released their fifth studio album 2.0, the album marked the band’s return and coincided with their reunion tour. The album sired three singles, “Eternal Love” was the album’s lead single and was released on 3rd September 2021. Two further singles, “Day One” and “Postcard” were released in the same year.

Throughout their break, all band members acquired recognition in different avenues within the entertainment industry, with some members returning to their roots of competition-based TV shows as hosts and judges. Currently, Humes can be seen on the game show The Hit List, which he co-hosts with his wife Rochelle Humes.

After a lengthy 11-year hiatus, aside from their 6-song set as they were being inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 2019, Roxy Music are set to return to the stage for a North American and UK tour beginning this September. Starting at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, the tour will see 10 gigs in North America, all with support from the fabulous St. Vincent (which is a fantastic matchup if you ask me), followed by 3 gigs in the UK in mid-October. So far there has been no announcement for the support of the UK leg, but more details will probably come through soon.

Tickets for the UK dates will go on sale this Thursday (March 31st) at 9am, you can find more information here. The tour will take Roxy Music through the UK with dates in Glasgow, Manchester and London, all in support of the 50th anniversary of their self-titled debut. As well as the tour, the band are also starting a vinyl re-issue series of all 8 studio albums in their discography. More information on when the reissues will be released will crop up in due time, until then you can take a look at the deal for Roxy Music and For Your Pleasure here; both of which will be landing on April 1st.

While I’m sure this is pretty much what everyone expected, the elephant in the room is that there is probably not going to be a Brian Eno amongst the line-up for the tour – despite this being in support of one of the 2 albums he actually worked on. I don’t have any actual evidence for that… but come on. That being said though, the year will mark the first time that Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera and Paul Thompson have been together on stage since the ‘For Your Pleasure’ tour in 2011.

Since their formation in 1972, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Roxy Music have left an indelible mark on the worlds of music, fashion and art, merging the three with a singular and astonishing vision that brought them immediate, global success. Today they are regarded as one of the most influential bands of all time, whose work has inspired generations of musicians. Intense, emotive, and clever, with iconic graphics, Roxy Music’s eight studio albums birthed the art-rock movement, blurring the lines between genres and infusing a new kind of glamour into rock music for the first time.

The North American run of the Reunion Tour includes a slew of dates April to August – and makes stops in Atlanta, Washington D.C., Brooklyn, Seattle. Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan Registration is open now and closes Tuesday, March 8 at 12pm EST. Verified Fan Presale begins Thursday, March 10th at 12pm local time. $1 of every headline show ticket sold will be donated to The Mariposa Fund, fiscally sponsored by The West Fund, which helps pay for undocumented people trying to obtain reproductive health services, including abortion. The UK dates however come through a little more sporadically. With a handful of festival appearances at the likes of Glastonbury, and Latitude, the headline shows have seemingly been built around them. A date at London’s Brixton Academy comes in July after Latitude, whereas the Barrowlands night comes a month earlier just preceding Glastonbury. You can look into the verified fan presale here, and check out general tour details here.

During the premiere of her latest radio show, amongst all the hype that had been generated regardless, Bridgers fans were treated to a haunting cover of Billie Eilish’s ‘when the party’s over’. Accompanied by a notably glum solo piano, and some sparse backing vocals, the cover takes Eilish’s track and does what every great cover does; maintain the original scope of the song while also adding a fundamentally unique and personal slant. The result is exactly how good as it sounds. Phoebe Bridgers taking on Billie Eilish. It’s great. Bridgers then took the performance and released it on SoundCloud for all to hear, you can check that out here.

See below the UK dates of the tour:

Just before the start of the UK leg of the tour beginning tonight, Collins has ruled out any further dates from the band, saying these will be the last Genesis shows ever. In a new interview with Mojo, Collins said “This English and American tour, that will be enough for me.”

This comes off the back of the news earlier this month, where in a rare interview Phil Collins gave fans an update on his ongoing health battles and their effect on his ability to perform.

The musician has been suffering from nerve damage since a spinal injury back in 2007, where he damaged the vertebrae in his upper neck. He Discussed Genesis’ forthcoming reunion tour which will see his son Nic taking his place behind the kit – he said “I’m kind of physically challenged a bit which is very frustrating because I’d love to be playing up there with my son.”

After the tour begins in Birmingham tonight, the band will head around the UK before the leg wraps up with three dates at The O2 in London in mid-October. A North American run will then begin from mid-November, taking the band through until a week before Christmas.

A piece of much welcome news for fans of the old Punk Rock band.

Founding members Dave Vanian, Rat Scabies, Captain Sensible and Brian James will play four shows next July, tickets are on sale this Friday 23 Oct from https://t.co/Mnk8EztgSU pic.twitter.com/SxqwVJ84g9

This will mark the first time all 4 of the original band members have been on stage together for over 25 years. Scabies (the drummer) and James (the guitarist) will join in on stage after the two-decade break. The lead singer Dave Vanian is the only original band member to remain a constant since the band’s inception all the back in 1976.

The Damned rose to fame very quickly, both at home in the UK and overseas in the USA. Vanian, Sensible, and Scabies originally were part of a band called ‘Masters of the Backside‘ with the future frontwoman of the Pretenders Chrissie Hynde. She would later go on to say in her book ‘Reckless’ that “Without me, they were probably the most musically accomplished punk outfit in town” (Hynde, 2015)

On October 22nd, 1976, The Damned were the First Punk band to release a single (New Rose). The next year on the 18th of February 1977 they became the first British Punk band to release a full-length punk album (Damned Damned Damned). Later that same year in the spring of 1977 they then became the first British Punk band to tour the US

Fans were obviously very excited by the news of the original 4 piece band reforming after so many years. The band obviously is known for a lot of firsts in the British Punk scene is also known for a lot of splitting ups, getting back together, or members leaving. Having a grand total of 19 members over the course of the bands run and splitting up a number of times. The Damned truly lived up to the lifestyle and music of “fast living and faster music“

With RSVPing starting for their tour now and the ability to be notified when tickets go on sale, The Damned seemed to be getting the fans very excited. At present, there are only 4 gigs being played in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Manchester. However, The Damned have added an option for fans to ask for the band to “Play in your city“. Fans should be ready for tickets to be snapped up very fast much like The Damned’s fast pace style.

Emo kids around the world imagined everything about a My Chemical Romance comeback – except for this. After the rock band announced their reunion on Halloween and played a massive comeback show in LA in December 2019, they were set to return to the UK and Ireland this year. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the band had to reschedule their reunion shows in Cornwall, Milton Keynes and Dublin for June 2021. But fans don’t have to worry about their favourite emo band disappearing from the surface again: When bassist Mikey Way was chatting to Radio 1 Newsbeat, he reassured that lockdown is only “a pause button” for the band.

“It’s easy for me to say we had a plan, but everyone had a plan, you know what I mean?”, Way says. My Chemical Romance’s reunion show in December was the first show the band played live together after their last show in 2012, which was followed by their break-up in 2013. But just as the iconic rock band was about to start performing together again, the coronavirus put their plan on hold. “Live music isn’t going anywhere, it’s just on pause for everybody”, the bassist says, but he’s trying to not let it get to him: “I’m trying to take myself out of a selfish place. Everyone I know was about to do something.” The current situation has caused everyone to pause, not only the music scene, Way admits: “Whether you’re in a band, you’re a director, you work a retail job, you’re a gardener – you had a plan, and now it’s been disrupted.”

What are the odds that my chemical romance break up for 7 years, decide to reunite and to a world wide reunion tour only for there to be a worldwide fucking pandemic?

— whatsername (@Nia_papaya_) May 18, 2020

Whilst fans still have to wait for musical news from Way and his colleagues, they can still expect some news from their favourite bassist: His music plans with My Chemical Romance might be on hold, but his other artistic plans aren’t. In 2019, Way published his first series of comics, called Collapser, and he just announced news about releasing another graphic novel in September. His newest piece of work is inspired by and named after his other band, Electric Century, with the band’s new album coming out at the same time as a soundtrack to the novel.

Even though we must wait another year to see the iconic reunion happen in the UK, it’s still something to get excited about – and bassist Mikey Way agrees: “I feel like people are waiting with bated breath. It’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I think there’s something really cool about that.”

This morning, three members of Genesis announced a reunion tour on BBC Radio 2’s breakfast show. Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford plan to perform in arenas around the UK at the end of 2020, in November and December.

The first news of the tour came when a throwback photo was posted on the band’s Instagram page with the caption “And then there were three…”. This cryptic message, along with a post from Radio 2 announcing that “a massive band are reuniting” caused fans to theorize that they would be back together soon.

Collins has hinted a reunion a few times, including in 2018, when he told Rolling Stone “I did mention to Tony very quietly if we did anything again it would be with Nic on drums.” Nic, Collins’ 18-year-old son, is also a drummer and has played drums on his father’s tour in 2016. Collins is unfortunately unable to play due to nerve damage to his hands, so he now takes the role of only the lead vocalist.

Additionally, when asked by Rolling Stone if he would be interested in drumming for a Genesis reunion, Nic said that he would definitely want to: “That Genesis stuff, drum-wise, is something else; absolutely unbelievable.” This morning, it was confirmed, along with Daryl Stuermer playing guitar and bass.

The band are looking forward to the tour just as much as fans are, with guitarist Mike Rutherford saying “It feels great, it feels the right time, we’re looking forward to doing it. A lot of our contemporaries have been playing a lot – we’ve done two shows in the UK in the last 28 years.”

Other details which were addressed on Radio 2 included the potential setlist. Collins said “There are songs you feel you have to play because the audience would feel cheated if you didn’t, then it’s a question of putting the rest of the stuff together from songs we haven’t played for a long time.”
