The band previously shared news of their upcoming album when they announced on their social media “We have now officially completed the recording of our new (yet untitled) full-length album at 33 together with producer Daniel Bergstrand and studio technician Fredrik Thordendal. We have had 5 fantastic, but very intense weeks in the studio, but there is no time to rest. There are still many things left to prepare and fix before the album is ready for release”

Dark Funeral has also announced their album will be unveiled by a release show on March 19th at Fållan in Stockholm, Sweden, supported by special guests Samael and Eleine. The band said of Samael in a press release “they are genuine legends and a band that never stopped evolving. We are incredibly proud to have them with us as very special guests!”.

They then went on to comment on their other support act “The Swedish dark symphonic metal band Eleine will be opening the night and contribute in showing that the Devil’s Music have both width and depth.” You can see the release show poster below.

They also discussed their feelings in anticipation of the show “We are looking forward to an incredibly powerful experience on the 19th of March and we encourage you all to secure your tickets to join us. Our new album is finally ready and we can’t wait to include our new music in our set lists. This event will open those gates and we want you to be there with us! Make sure to follow the event page as we will provide information in a steady stream in both Swedish and English. Meanwhile, we will work incessantly in the background.”

Dark Funeral will also visit the UK at the Electric Ballroom in Camden on May 7 next year.

Well, somehow. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it still takes some time before we’re able to watch shows in a crowd at indoor venues again, but luckily the London-based artist has had an idea. The gig will be livestreamed and fans who buy a ticket can participate via their mobile devices. Tickets will go on sale at 5pm BST today (August 14) here. Fans from all around the world can buy tickets for the event, however there’s the chance for UK fans to purchase the album and a ticket to the concert together.

Originally, “Zeros” was supposed to be released on May 15, but the date got postponed to August 21 due to the pandemic, before it got pushed back once again. But now the date is final: September 4. The album is featuring the recently released four singles “Daniel, You’re Still A Child”, “Beautiful Faces”, “The Key To Life On Earth” and “Be An Astronaut”, his latest single.

McKenna recently had to cancel his upcoming tour due to the corona crisis but figured out a way to play some shows across the UK in March and April 2021. Who knows, he might play some of his new tunes then, to make up for the online release party.
