Reece Lemonius has today released his latest single, ‘Savage’, as part of a wider body of work. Where Lemonius’ last feature single, ‘Beautiful’, painted the innocent side of human connection, ‘Savage’, on the other hand highlights the more devious and immoral side of love. The single is very much about knowing a person not being the best for oneself, but still throwing caution to the wind. To convey these feelings, the single uses the trap & post-maloneish vibe to underpin the ambiguous feelings.

Speaking about his new single and how it woks into his wider body of work, Reece Lemonius, said: “Savage is a progression in my writing and storytelling. Like the previous songs, its about a relationship I was in for some part of the year. Being attracting to this person so much without made it feel like she had this power over me, it was dangerous. She was dangerous. Meanwhile, the wider body of work involves diving into different styles of writing for myself and other artists where I’ll taking a backseat on the singing and focusing solely on the song-writing.”

Reece Lemonius is more than the usual singer songwriter. The 25-year-old, London based performer, delivers enigmatically performances on the piano, to create the mood and basis to deliver his thoughtful pop music, with soulful melodies and modern licks. Lemonius, started his musical career writing music as an expression of and for himself, which he would never call song writing. Speaking about how his writing has become more of an emotional outlet, Lemonius, said: “To me… I’m never writing songs, more-so letters that I’ll never send.”

However, it wasn’t until he released his first tracks, DIY, on SoundCloud, in 2015, that he was finally recognised and started to turn heads in the industry. His first collaboration, ‘Talk About It’, with Mike Perry, which was released in March 2017, gained 70 million streams on Spotify to-date. Choosing not to be named as a feature artist, Lemonius went on to pursue different opportunities such as following his heart and collaborating with CHROME.

The first single of the team-up, ‘Love Me’, which was released in 2018, went viral in early August and gathered more than 20 million streams in just under two months. Since then the song has received a couple of remixes. The single allowed Lemonius to finally show the world his sound and who he is as an artist.

This resulted in a very organic build on Spotify where after entering the German and Austrian viral charts, the single is currently listed No. 1 on the “Winter Chillout” playlist with over 450k subscribers and additionally added to the equally popular playlist “Top Of The Morning”. After being featured on a French Telenovela, the track also broke into the French Viral Charts and has been a Shazam Top Track in multiple French and other European cities.

His listenership (220k monthly) is constantly growing and helped to position him as a potential support of the upcoming Nico Santos tour. His latest release “Comfortable” was featured on Spotify’s NMF Germany and Switzerland. The first is a simple tropical summer dance remix, by Kevin Faltin, which went viral in August 2018, gathering more than seven million views within three weeks.

On the 14th of August 2018, Sonnengruss – an independent German electronic act – released another remix. The remix serves as the perfect introduction for the heartfelt and more soul-rooted original – a letter that, this time, has finally will been sent. Lemonius has garnered a name for himself, which now sees him with more than, two hundred thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, 30 million plays on YouTube, and 100 million plays on collaborations on Spotify.

London-based viral star Reece Lemonious has teamed up with, British-Chinese, singer/song-writer Lui Peng, who recently released his colourful EP ‘Feathers’, to collaborate on new track ‘Dirty Habit’. The result, of this talented duo, is a track that reflects on the non-committal attitudes many have towards relationships, friendships, and investment in other people.

However, despite the somewhat bleak subject matter, the track is also to be understood light-heartedly. ‘Dirty Habit’, which was released on the 14th of December 2018, is only the first collaboration from these two gifted songwriters, who are just getting started, with them tipped to have more lined-up for 2019. The video to follow ‘Dirty Habit’ is currently in the works and being shot, at the Opium, in London.

Lemonius, 25, started his musical career writing music as self-expression. “To me… I’m never writing songs, more-so letters that I’ll never send,” says Lemonius, speaking about how his writing has become more of an emotional outlet.

However, it wasn’t until he released his first tracks, DIY, on SoundCloud, in 2015, that he was finally recognised and started to turn heads in the industry. His first collaboration, ‘Talk About It’ with Mike Perry, which was released in March 2017, gained 65 million streams on Spotify to-date. Choosing not to be named as a feature artist, Reece went on to pursue different opportunities such as following his heart and collaborating with CHROME.

It was with the release of his single ‘Love Me’, in 2018, that Lemonius finally showed the world his sound and who he is as an artist. ‘Love Me’ went viral on YouTube last summer, gaining close to 20 million views in three months. Since then the song has received a couple of remixes.

Meanwhile, British-Chinese singer/song-writer, Lui Peng started his musical career at the age of 19, sharing covers on YouTube and showcasing a raw talent with an acoustic approach to a variety of pop songs. This passion lead him to studying music production, at Abbey Road, with his sound now existing between the worlds of synthetic and organic, which is similar to his inspirations existing between Asian and Western European culture.

Since sharing covers on YouTube, Peng has gone on to release track original tracks such as ‘We Will Be Okay’, ‘Just go’ and ‘You’. All of which have hit a handful of streaming milestones including reaching Spotify curated playlists ‘Fresh Finds’, New Music Friday in Japan and Turkey, ‘Going Home’ and ‘Alternate Life’, as well as popular independent playlists including the likes of Majestic Casual and ‘Guten Morgen’ – all resulting in a total of over one million hits.

Peng’s latest release, ‘No Rush’ has been described as “Gossamer R&B with a heavenly chorus, the slinky piano notes that counterpoint the gilded electronics make for something wholly beautiful,” by Clash Magazine. Speaking about the track, Peng said: “‘No Rush’ is a song that tries to look at the world from a perspective where time is abundant. A concept that often gets lost inside the stresses of everyday life.”
