The show is going on to its fourth season having released its first season in 2019. The show has seen well-known rappers such as F.O.S, Shogun, Bryn and Graft come through in their last 3 seasons and boost their already rising music careers.

With The help of Krept, Konan and DJ target the show sees 6 upcoming artists from the UK rap scene seeking the opportunity to gain experience and opportunities to help them take the next step in taking over the UK scene. The judges are legends in the UK music scene with DJ target having been heavily involved in the early UK grime scene as a member of grime crew Roll Deep. Krept and Konan are both in their early 30s but have been in the UK rap scene for over 10 years, having created international hits such as “Freak of the week “ and “G love”, the duo has gone on to create clothing brands as well as open their own restaurant ‘Crepes and Cones’ in their hometown Croydon.

The advertisement for the upcoming series of The rap game uk puts forward two key pieces of information, “Do you want to be mentored by some of the biggest names in UK rap?” and “Whatever your lyrical style we want to hear from you”. As the advertisement suggests it’s not only UK legends Krept, Konan and DJ Target who mentor and help the upcoming artists, the stars often bring along their artist’s friends and have had the likes of, Aitch, Young T and Bugsey, NSG and D double E as guest judges on the show.

Applicants for the upcoming season must be 18 or over before the 12th of march 2022 and can apply here.

The 6 artists chosen to appear on the show will stay in an apartment together in Manchester for the 6 weeks process in hopes of winning the cash prize of £20,000 as well as a mentor scheme to help them create, launch and promote new music following the show.

The 3rd season of the show started last Thursday with the release of the first episode on BBC iplayer, the 6 artists competing in this year’s competition are; Kay Rico hailing from Manchester he has supported Wiley on his Godfather 2 tour in 2018 and has worked alongside fellow Mancunian Aitch, Saidu a 19-year-old from Bermondsey a grime artist willing to go into other genres, female artists Pocaa from Hackney who takes inspiration from UK artists Youngs Teflon and J Hus as well as US legends Missy Elliot and Lil Kim, Scotsman Oaksy B is from Glasgow and hopes to become the biggest musician to ever come out of Scotland, BrynBP from South London fell in love with rap when her brother introduced her to Biggie, Tupac and Snoop Dogg, and the last artist to appear on this year’s show is 19-year old KayDizzy from Stoke who hopes to make his mother proud by becoming the biggest artist in the UK.

The show will be released weekly on BBC Iplayer and will feature some of the biggest artists in the UK rap scene as guest judges.
