The upcoming project will be the 21-year-old’s third project following his debut release Double-Tap Diaries and sophomore project Made In the Pyrex. His last two projects have both had commercial success, with his debut reaching number 11 after its first week of sale and his second project reaching the Top 5 and debuting at number 3 on the charts. Diggas’ commercial success is undeniable with 3 Top 10s, 3 Top 20s and 5 Top 50 singles in his 5-year long carer that first saw him chart in 2019.

Digga released his latest singles “Pump 101” which he released over a month ago and found success through TikTok trends with the track sitting on 7.6 million youtube views and 13.5 million Spotify streams, with the track debuting at 9th on the official charts having spent 6 consecutive weeks in the charts.Digga also released “G-lock” alongside American sensation Moneybagg Yo which dropped a week ago and sits on over a million views and over a million Spotify streams.

This project comes 3 years after his last project Project Purple which was released in 2019 and featured tracks such as “Off he Record 3”, “Pricey” featuring Once Acen and “Comfortable” alongside UK legend Dappy. The project came in a year where the artist released only 2 singles those being “Comfortable” which featured on the project and “Ms Diva” which was arguably the bigger single of the pair but never made it onto the project.

Yungens new project comes as the rapper makes a return after a 2-year hiatus. The return has seen the rapper appear on GRM Daily’s Daily duppy platform as well as two singles titled “Popstar” and “Batmobile”. Yungen’s newest release has a tracklist that features 12 songs, including his 3 previous releases this year with an added Ghetts feature on the track “Batmobile”. The remaining 9 songs are listed as “Passionate”,” Tom Brady”, “Monopoly”, “Come in 3s”, “Boyz in the Hood” featuring Avelino, “Make It Out”, “Trials and Tribulations” featuring fellow Play dirty members Krepy and Konan, “Grieve” and the final track “Paranoid”.

Yungen is a certified legend in the UK rap scene and has been around for over 10 years, he has released classic UK hip hop tracks such “Aint on Nothin” featuring Sneakbo, as well as commercial hits such as “Bestie” alongside Yxng Bane, which peaked in the charts at 10th and spent 31 weeks in the charts when released back in 2017. Yungen took a long break and for fans wondering where he has been his new project is what the rapper claims to be “Very Personal” and will hopefully give fans a better insight into the rapper’s last 2 years.

The unexpected project saw no promotion in the build-up to its release, with the fans’ first time hearing about the project being its release. The project is 21 songs long and features Thea Gajic, who is an actor, writer and director from south London who opens 17 with a piece of spoken word. The actor has featured alongside A2 on his 2017 project Blue as well as featuring on tracks alongside Jorja Smith and Jords. The second feature is Kash Willis, a reasonably unknown artist who has worked alongside A2 previously on an E.P. titled Once Too Many which also saw a feature from the previously mentioned Thea Gajic. The features on the track don’t have any of their own work on streaming sites such as Spotify, with the music on their pages solely being work they have done alongside A2.

This project from A2 comes as a shock to many, with the artist announcing his retirement from music following his last project release Just So You Know, which the Croydon artist released earlier this year. The rapper took to Twitter in May 2021 after the release of Just So You Know and told fans “Just so you know probably gonna be my last contribution to music”

This release is A2s’ fourth solo project having dropped his first, Blue in 2017. Unlike his other projects, which tend to consist of around 10/11 songs, his recent release is 21 songs, making it his longest project to date. The artist’s announcement of retirement from music in May and the sudden drop of what will be his largest project, this could be A2 signing off by giving fans the last bits of music he wants the world to hear.

The 23-year-old west Londoner took to his Instagram last week to announce the upcoming project as well as drop a collaboration alongside streetwear brand Trapstar. The clothing drop featured tracksuits and tees in black and yellow with “23” printed on them.

This wasn’t central cee first clothing collaboration having worked with Trapstar before as well as Corteiz coming together to make merch for his debut project Wild West.

Alongside the collaboration with Trapstar, the talented rapper released a freestyle on his Instagram that currently sits on just over 1 million views, with comments from Lil Yachty, Bukayo Saka and Yung filly all giving the west London rapper his props. The freestyle saw cee in a black and yellow north face jacket and suggest that those colours may be the colour scheme for his next project, the same way orange was used so heavily by the artist for his debut project.

The upcoming project 23 is available to preorder now but is yet to have a tracklist with the rapper sharing a photo on his Instagram of what looked to be a handwritten tracklist which shows there will be 15 tracks, one track containing features and his hit “Obsessed with you”, a track in which he sampled Pink pantheress “Just for me” and peaked in the official charts at 4th, it is the only track yet to be announced to feature on the project.

Central Cee is one of the biggest artists in the UK and is doing it all independently. His debut project Wild West which dropped in march of 2021 peaked on the charts at number 2 and since then the west Londoner has not looked back, picking up 2 rated awards, featuring on Ed Sheeransremix for his chart-topping track “Bad Habits”, featuring on The Kingsman soundtrack on a song alongside FKA Twigs titled “Measure of a Man” and so much more.
