Chrissie Hynde took to social media yesterday (December 30), to reveal some of her personal highlights of 2024 which included seeing Taylor Swift at Wembley and her involvement in the Mark Lanegan tribute at London’s Roundhouse earlier this month.

In the X post (formerly Twitter), Hynde stated: “Hi all! My end of ’24 good wishes to all. I always look forward to a new beginning and here we go. Thanks again to all of you who came to see us on tour”.

My end of ’24 good wishes to all. I always look forward to a new beginning and here we go. Thanks again to all of you who came to see us on tour.

In case anybody is interested – here’s my personal highlights of ’24: pic.twitter.com/ZageCvtpee

— Chrissie Hynde (@ChrissieHynde) December 30, 2024

The Pretenders frontman recently completed a UK Tour alongside the band promoting their latest album ‘Relentless’, which released in September this year. Hynde has been a prominent figure in Alt-Rock since the late 1970s, not only for her contributions as lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for Pretenders but for her contribution to mid-70s punk-rock band Johnny Moped and her presence on reggae-rock classic ‘I Got You Babe’ by UB40, which peaked at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart upon its release in 1985.

This year, Hynde pinpoints standout moments in culture and entertainment across 2024, reminiscing on concerts, films, TV, art and much more.

Most notably, in her ‘live show’ highlights she praises Taylor Swift and her show at London’s Wembley Stadium as part of her Eras Tour. The ‘I’ll Stand by You’ singer noted Swift’s gig as “beautiful and inspiring” filled with “timeless music”.

In the same section Hynde recalls Okean Elzy’s gig at The Forum London, notifying fans that she saw “Ukraine’s number one rock band in its full glory”.

The 73-year-old singer also admitted to seeing the “gorgeous thriller” Conclave (2024) “3 times already” and finding BBC’s Wolf Hall (2015-), inspired by Hillary Mantel’s book series of the same name, “seriously mind-blowing in every way”.

In her notable moment for a ‘show I’ve been involved in’, Hynde recalls her contribution to ‘Mark Lanegan 60’, a tribute to the late singer at London’s Roundhouse on December 5, on what would’ve been his 60th birthday. At the event Hynde’s performance added to the lineup of numerous rock icons to celebrate Lanegan, including performances by Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan. Hynde performed sensational renditions ‘Kimiko’s Dream House’, ‘Halcyon Daze’ and ‘Relevator’, recalling the experience as a “heartfelt” celebration enhanced by a “superb band” and “glorious vocalists”.

As 2024 comes to an end and Chrissie Hynde reminisces on her most notable experiences of 2024, Hynde will continue to build on these experiences as part of the Pretenders & Chrissie Hynde Tour in South America next year.

Taking to the stage this year at the British Summer Time festival will be Guns N’ Roses as the main spotlight of the show on the 30th June. As part of their world tour, visiting cities in the Middle East, Europe and North America, they will be making a grand finale at the London based festival as headline act.

They have just announced three acts set to be supporting the rock band. Amongst these, be ready to be warmed up by the rock legends from the 80’s, Pretenders. Alongside them, the grammy nominated band Larkin Poe from the US. And let’s not forget The Darkness band from the 2000’s rock scene.

The Pretenders performance will be the wrap up for their UK and Ireland tour starting this May and finishing on the 30th June, as mentioned before, at Hyde Park. The tour is named “Relentless” after their soon to be released album – Relentless. However, Chrissie Hynde is handling the situation in a very secretive manner and still hasn’t revealed any valuable information about the official drop.

Larkin Poe lurk close behind their, band support, peers. The Nashville band formed by the multi-instrumentalist sisters Rebecca Lovell and Megan Lovell. It seems like the duo will be mainly showcasing their best hits from their latest album release Blood Harmony. This being their sixth studio album.

Finally, the British rock band, The Darkness, will be playing as Guns N’ Roses support act and will be playing another live show in Norway where they will be supporting KISS on their End Of The Road world tour, on the 15th of July before the bands official tour in November where they will be visiting Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

It is going to be the first time Guns N’ Roses perform at the BST Festival this year. They will be playing amongst our global, music industry’s leading figures from the past few decades, including Bruce Springsteen, BLACKPINK, Billy Joel, Take That and P!nk. All playing on consecutive weekends.

This years edition celebrates que festivals 10th year anniversary from when they first launched. It is an event which consists on a series of live shows held over two or three weekends at Hyde Park in London. Over the years it has hosted the biggests acts in the world such as Celine Dion, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam, The Strokes, The Who, Adele … you name it.

Tickets for Guns N’ Roses are available here.
