Potter Payper Releases ‘Thanks For Waiting: The Documentary’

Potter Payper releases ‘Thanks for Waiting: The Documentary’. The 30-year-old from Barking and Dagenham announced on Tuesday night the release of his documentary in the Instagram caption announcing the release the rapper claimed it would be “The story behind the mixtape”.

The documentary shares the same title as the mixtape that Potter released on the 1st of October, Thanks for Waiting. The mixtape is the 3rd project that the Potter has released since his release from prison in June 2020. 2020 vision was the first project he released days after he announced that he was a free man which was then followed by Training day 3, a project that marked the end of Potter’s mixtape trilogy and was his highest-charting release reaching number 3 in the official charts.

‘Thanks for Waiting: the Documentary’ stars a number of UK rap superstars and features from Potter’s project including Unknown T, M Huncho, KO, Rimzee, Suspect and NSG. The documentary looks at the creative journey behind the project, a project that already had a story behind it with Potter sharing a phone call he made while in jail explaining the vision he had once released from Prison and included a feature-heavy project that would help him learn how to navigate different sounds.

In an interview on Capital Xtra with host Rob Bruce, Potter spoke on the idea he had behind the feature-heavy tape saying that “After training day 3 I wanted to make a feature heavy tape, from that feature heavy tape I want to try and make people comfortable hearing me on the popular sound”

The 18 track project contain 12 features and varies from the trap sound that artists such as M Huncho and Billy billions champion, afrobeat which NSG brought to the project, with Potter who is half Algerian sharing in the documentary that creating the song and changing his sound helped him feel closer to his Algerian side. Potter also appeased the fans who listen to him for his raw and authentic raps, with tracks such as “Johnny on the spot” and “Gangsteritus”.

The Essex rapper signed with 0207 Defjam, the UK branch of American major label Defjam, in May this year, following the success of his Training day 3 and signed to the major label alongside fellow UK rap giant Stormzy.

Potter Payper Announce The Tracklist For His Upcoming Mixtape “Thanks For Waiting”

Potter Payper announces the tracklist for his upcoming mixtape Thanks for Waiting. Potter announces the 18 song tracklist via a video on his Instagram that took an exert from a conversation Potter had from within jail manifesting the success he has had since his release.

The section of the phone call that was used by Potters team to announce the tracklist sees Potter talking about getting out of jail and recording the “40 odd tunes” he had written while locked up, which fans got in the shape of Training day 3. He then goes on to speak about making songs and creating music with other artists, “A feature-heavy tape, I’m talking about like every tune is a feature”.

Potter has kept to his words with his upcoming mixtape holding 18 tracks,11 tracks that will contain a feature with no artists featuring on more than one song.

The 12 features include the two previously released singles “Catch Up” featuring M Huncho and “Nothings Free” featuring suspect. The first sits on 2.1 million views after a month and the other just over 650 thousand views after being released for just one week.

The 10 remaining features are the 98 rappers Uknown T, KO and Bily billions. T will feature on track 2 “Eastenders”, KO on track 3 “Rappers Lie” and Billy on track 9 “Take a seat” alongside the fairly unknown rapper ICP.

Potter is keeping his project very East London heavy with features from Rimzee on track 4 “Ceo Flo and NSG on track 11 “Plain Clothes”.

The remaining features come from west Londoner Digga D on track 6 “Take that” and Haile on track 15 “Never”. British Zimbabwean and certified hook maker Tiggs the author on track 17 “Gangseritus” and Unknow rapper Smurke on track 14 “Foreva”.

Potter has just completed his 6 date Training day tour which took him to Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and London. With his tour coming to an end the rapper who signed to 0207 def jam earlier this year will work on getting fans excited for his upcoming project which is set to drop on the 1st of October.

Potter Paper announces his new mixtape Thanks for Waiting and announces his newest single “Nothings free” featuring Suspect that will drop this coming Thursday.

The 30-year-old took to his Instagram to share the news of his new project as well as sharing a letter with his fans.

The letter shared with fans a promise that he made in 2017 about how he planned to give 100% to his music when he eventually came home from his jail sentence over a year ago. The rapper shared he never did any of this for the radio or charts, but since his release from prison in June 2020 he had released the final rape of the training day trilogy charting at 3rd on the official charts and also signed alongside UK superstar Stormzy to 0207 Defjam.

The Barking native hasn’t dropped much music since the success of his Training day 3 tape having only recently released a track alongside M Huncho titled “Come up” and featured on Unknown Ts latest tape on the track “Trenches” and on Fredo’s Independence day tape on the track titled “14”.

Potter was also spotted celebrating at GRM daily annual gala alongside some of the biggest influencers and artists in the UK scene. Finding himself pictured next to the likes of Michael Dappah, Stormzy, Fredo and 0207 Def Jam president Alex Boateng.

Having celebrated at this years GRM gala, the rapper will be hoping to celebrate at this year GRM rated awards after receiving 3 nominations for the categories track of the year for his track “Purpose”, mixtape of the year for his project Training day 3 and male artists of the year.

KO Announced As Support Act For Potter Paypers Tour

KO announces he will be supporting Potter Payper on his Training day trilogy tour.

The 6 date tour will start in September at Leeds Belgrave hall before coming to an end in London. The tour which was supposed to go ahead in March of this year was rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The training day trilogy tour will be Potters first tour so will give him an opportunity to perform songs from all three of his Training day trilogy. The tour was announced following the release of Potters Training day 3 which the 30-year-old released following his 3 year-long prison spell and charted 3rd following its first week of release.

Since Potters release, he has signed to Defjam UK becoming one of their star signings alongside UK superstar Stormzy.

KO will be supporting Potter on his tour, the Homerton rapper possesses some of the most skilful wordplays in the UK rap scene, his last two tapes Drilliam Shakespeare and This sh#ts ments are examples of this with him playing on his lyricism with his latest title Drilliam Shakespeare.

The talented rapper and his team have been teasing a new project with it have been 2 years since his last project release. KO has however released a number of singles and collaborations alongside Tugz, Jimmy and his group the 98s.

The tour merchandise will be available on all dates and will be supplied by Birmingham clothing brand ‘Take risks and prosper’.

Potter Payper And M Huncho Drop New Single ‘Catch Up’

Potter Payper and M Huncho Link up for their new single ‘Catch up’.

Potter announced the feature on Tuesday before releasing the track and visuals on Thursday.

While it is Potters song, M Hunchos feature covers the hook and a few verses. The duo both from East London make ‘Catch up’ their first-ever song together and didn’t disappoint.

Huncho is known for his mask and anonymity but his distinct sound and style make it easy to put a voice to the name. The faceless rapper is on a feature run having just appeared alongside Unknown T on his recent single ‘Wonderland’ which featured on Ts new project ‘Adolescence’.

M Huncho made his name in 2017 appearing on Keny Allstar mad about bars in which he has gained over 22 million views. In his freestyle, over 4 years ago he started his second verse with “Smoking pots of green listening to Potter Payper”.

Despite only being 30, Potter Payper has been rapping for over 10 years and his music and influence has been felt by nearly all the artists coming through the UK rap scene within the last 5 years. Whether it’s a reference from M Huncho or Stormzy shouting him out on the Glastonbury mainstage, Potter Paypers years of grinding have helped to solidify him as a UK rap legend.

After the success of his last mixtape ‘training day 3’ which charted at 3rd on the official charts and was the first full-length project since the rapper 3-year break from music due to spending some time in jail. The recent single looks as though it could be a lead up to the Potter Payper album that the rapper has teased will drop in 2021.

The UK branch of Def Jam, 0207 Def Jam have announced the signing of rapper Potter Payper.

The signing of the rapper from Barking comes a year after his release from a three-year prison sentence. Following his release, he has released two mixtapes, ‘2020 vision’ a four-song project he released the day after his release and ‘Training day 3’ the final tape of his Training day trilogy, which charted at no.3 on the official album charts.

Potter Payper is one of the most talented and unique rapers in the UK, his raw delivery and unfiltered content make him a fan favourite in the UK rap scene and is why the reaction to his release from prison last June was met with such support and joy from the UK rap scene who have watched Potters growth for nearly ten years.

0207 Def Jam is the UK home of legendary record label Def Jam, a name which takes reference from the UK telephone code, 0207. The label is headed by UK executives and Brothers Alec and Alex Boateng. Alex joined the label after 10 years at Universal Music which saw his most recent role as president of Universal’s first urban division, Island record. While Alec was the co-head of A&R at Atlantic Records, which saw him work closely with UK superstar Stormzy who was announced as 0207 Def Jams first signing following the announcement of the label in November 2020.

Stormzy is not only Potter label mate but was mentioned by the Essex rapper as someone who helped him focus on Music during his last custodial sentence. Potter referred to Stormzy 2019 Glastonbury performance in an interview with The New York Times where he said he “could hear fellow inmates in nearby cells listening to the rapper’s performance. After Stormzy named him onstage as one of his influences, the other prisoners started banging on their doors, yelling Payper’s name”.

The announcement of Potters signing to 0207 Def Jam coincides with the announcement of the ‘Top shotta freestyle’ announced to released today on the 20th May 2021.
