Due to an unexpected health condition, Limp Bizkit have been forced to postpone their UK and European tour for 2022. The band were due to play across the UK with two dates in London followed by Manchester and Birmingham. The band started their Still Sucks tour in April in the US and was set to promote their latest album which was their first studio release in 10 years. This is the second time the band have been forced to abandon shows, having had their last tour disrupted by the pandemic.

The announcement came via Instagram when the band, Fred Durst, John Otto, Sam Rivers, Wes Borland and DJ Lethal released a statement saying they “apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our loyal fans, promoters and support staff“. This was followed by frontman, Fred Durst, posting a video explaining the situation to their fans. He revealed that he had contacted his doctor and had decided to “do some tests“ to make sure he was in “good physical condition“ before beginning the UK/EU leg of the tour.

His doctor responded via a letter informing Durst that he would not want him to be touring at this time and that the singer should “stay close by” for further tests.
“For personal health concerns and based on medical advice given by my personal physician to take an immediate break from touring, Limp Bizkit will sadly have to postpone their 2022 Uk and European tour.

Norwegian indie-pop sensation Girl In Red has announced that she has postponed her forthcoming UK and European tour at the behest of several medical professionals, who have concluded that the singer has caused damage to her vocal cords.

Girl In Red (real name Marie Ulven Ringheim) recently finished an extensive US tour, and was only three shows into her European tour when she was unfortunately forced to postpone the remainder of it. Ringheim stated: “He told me that singing would increasingly get harder for me, but because I didn’t want to disappoint everyone coming to my EU/UK shows, I left for the tour two days later…Today I saw another specialist in London, who strongly advised me to go back home, see a speech therapist and essentially relearn the way I speak and use my voice. If not, I might have to get surgery.”

She went on to say: “I don’t want to cancel any more shows. I don’t want to be perceived as an artist or person that can’t do what they set out to do…This tour was postponed because of COVID and knowing how excited you guys were to see me, makes this a really fucking hard decision to make. I seriously cannot stress how much this breaks my heart. I feel an overwhelming sense of letting you guys down, but as of right now, it’s out of my control. What I do have control over is what I can do moving forward, and I’m going to do everything I can to avoid this ever happening again. I love you.”

Presently, Girl In Red is presently set to support Billie Eilish at London’s O2 in June, and is also slated to appear at numerous summer festivals such as Glastonbury and Øya Festival in Oslo, Norway. Given the immediacy of some of these shows, it is unfortunately quite possible that Ringheim will have to reschedule these dates in light of this recent medical issue in addition to her current tour. Presently, nothing concrete has been confirmed.

Ringheim began writing music as Girl In Red in 2015, and released her first single “I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend” under the moniker the following year, which reached five thousand streams over five months. The single featured on a Norwegian website called NRK Urort, which led to Ringheim amassing an impressive online following. The singer-songwriter has since gone on to release two extended plays entitled Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, and in April 2021, released her first full-length If I Could Make it Go Quiet. You can stream Girl In Red’s music on all available digital platforms.

American heavy metal band Trivium have unfortunately had to postpone their upcoming UK and European tour to early 2023. The tour, which was originally supposed to begin on November 11th in Glasgow, is now scheduled to kick off on the 12th of January 2023. At present, the band is still set to be joined by German extreme metal band Heaven Shall Burn and Malevolence.

According to Kerrang, singer and guitarist Matt Heafy has stated regarding the unfortunate news; “We are deeply disappointed that we have to postpone these dates as we were determined to be one of the first international acts to resume touring across Europe,” explains Paolo Gregoletto. “Unfortunately with the uncertainty of cross border travel and restrictions it’s become impossible for these dates to proceed as planned. We can assure you we were doing everything up until the last minute to figure out a way to do the shows and it wasn’t a decision we made lightly.”.

Regardless, Heafy was hopeful regarding the postponement, saying that the band will “promise to make it worth the wait” and that they have “two new albums’ worth of material we haven’t toured yet”.

Again according to Kerrang, Heafy had many warm sentiments to share regarding their to-be-touring partners Malevolence, stating that they are; “a band that will take over the heavy music world. Paolo introduced me to their music, and I have had it on repeat ever since. Malevolence have created a sound completely and uniquely their own; and it’s monumentally fantastic. Mark my words, they’re gonna take the metal, hardcore, metalcore, and punk worlds over by force. We are excited to have them on our tour.”

In other recent news, Trivium released their tenth studio album In The Court of the Dragon recently, on October 8th. The album has been well-received by both fans and critics, with many well-known music publications such as Metal Injection, Kerrang and Allmusic speaking of it favourably. Numerous metal subgenre labels have been attributed to the album, including thrash metal, progressive metal, heavy metal and metalcore. Hence the name, a lot of the lyrical themes on the album are concerned with fantasy literature and also ancient mythology, which is evidenced in songs such as “Like A Sword Over Damocles”.

In The Court of the Dragon is available on all streaming services, and physical copies of the album are available here.

Alanis Morissette has postponed her previously rescheduled UK and European tour, which was set to celebrate 25 years of her seminal album Jagged Little Pill.

The shows were originally planned to take place in Autumn 2020, but were moved to October 2021. After that they were then moved to November because of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, yet again Morissette has been unable to go ahead with the tour. She has now announced that the gigs have again been postponed due to COVID travel restrictions. The new dates are also not yet confirmed.

The American singer/somgwriter posted on her social media accounts “Europe & UK missing you so much, traveling overseas from country to country is becoming increasingly challenging with three kids during a time like no other on this beautiful planet.”

She then added in a Twitter thread “I know things will shift – but for this moment – i am heartbroken to say that we have to postpone the upcoming UK and Europe shows in october & november 2021.” She continued “Stay tuned for the rescheduled dates (coming very soon), and please hold onto your tickets as they will be valid for the new ones. i can’t wait to see you each as soon as we possibly can.”

Morissette shares her children with hip hop star Souleye (Mario Treadway) and was set to visit Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, London and Dublin on her tour. She was also due to play a number of European cities.

The Australian and New Zealand parts of the Jagged Little Pill shows were also previously rescheduled and will now take place next year in November 2022.

Morissette had Liz Phair scheduled as her support on the tour alongside Garbage. However Phair pulled out of the ‘Jagged Little Pill’ celebration due to “unforeseen circumstances”; and was replaced by Cat Power.

Phair wrote on her social media “Sadly, due to unforeseen circumstances, I won’t be able to join Alanis & Garbage on tour this summer,” Phair wrote on social media. “I’m incredibly disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces.”

She then continued “Shoutout to Alanis, Garbage, and Cat Power, who I know will put on an incredible show. Hope to see you all soon.”

The news of the tours postponement comes just days after Alanis performed at the Hollywood Bowl in California this week.

British rock band Enter Shikari announced yesterday, 21st July, that all of their ‘Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible’ tour dates have been postponed until 2021. According to a press release, Covid-19 is the main cause, along with “uncertainty and ongoing lack of charity around the return of larger indoor music events.”

Originally due to take place throughout autumn and winter 2020, the dates have now been moved to summer 2021, and all tickets will remain valid.

Frontman Rou Reynolds said in a press release, “We’re gutted to have to reschedule all our shows to 2021. This means we won’t be stepping on a stage in 2020 whatsoever. This is agonising – I’m already climbing the walls and we’re only half way through!”

He continued on an uplifting note, “I suppose it just means more time to work on these shows and make them extra special for when they finally come along,” ending with, “Thank you to everyone who’s bought a ticket, the response has been amazing even with everything going on, but obviously right now the main priority is everybody’s well being. Wishing everyone health and happiness.”

Having planned to go on tour in October 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has forced Kentucky rock band Black Stone Cherry to postpone their UK shows until September 2021.

Despite this unfortunate turn of events, fans can look forward to the rescheduled dates, which were revealed yesterday. The band took to social media to announce, “We’ve been closely monitoring this unprecedented situation and it has become clear that it’s just not possible to go ahead with the shows as planned. We have looked at many options, but ultimately the health of our fans, crew, and family is paramount.”

While many other bands have cancelled their summer performances in the last few months, it was hoped that live music would be safe to take place once again by the autumn. Sadly, this is not the case, and the Black Stone Cherry tour was ultimately postponed, though ticket-holders can retain their tickets and attend the same venue as originally planned. If required, fans can receive a refund at the point of purchase.

The statement ended on an uplifting note: “We cannot wait to come see you all with a new album under our belt and oh how much sweeter this tour will be! In the meantime, stay safe and look after each other.”

Circa Waves’ double album ‘Sad Happy’ was released in March 2020, and had planned a UK tour to run throughout the spring and summer. Upon government advice, these shows were postponed to September with the safety of both the audience and crew in mind. Today, the band announced a further postponement of the tour, which will now take place in March 2021.

Frontman Kieran Shudall posted on the band’s online platforms to inform fans. The statement read: “We will play these shows if it’s the last thing we do!!! We have been told we have to move the gigs to March. We are really disappointed that we can’t play for you this year but safety is obviously the most important thing.”

He continued, “It’s mad to release an album in March and not get to play the songs till a whole year later,” but reminded fans of how amazing the performances will be, asking them to retain their tickets for next year. For any listeners who haven’t yet purchased tickets, they are available now from the Circa Waves website.

Indie rock singer Sam Fender released his phenomenal debut album ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ in 2019 to an incredible fan reception. The ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ UK tour was set to run throughout spring 2020 before being postponed until Autumn due to coronavirus concerns. Now, given the ongoing pandemic, all shows have been moved to next year, beginning in April 2021.

Taking to Instagram, the artist conveyed the news to his followers, beginning by wishing them to be “safe and well in these mental times.” Fender then announced that “we’re pushing all shows back to next year,” but kept hopes up by confirming “by the time these shows come around, there will be loads of new music to play to you.” He also shared the official dates and assured fans that their tickets will still be valid.

What the fuck happened to 2020?! With the current state that the UK is in, we’re pushing all shows back until next year – it sucks eggs but it’s unavoidable. The silver lining is that by the time these shows come around, there will be loads of new music to play you. And you can only imagine the energy as it will be 13 months since our last show. I haven’t gone this long without playing a show since I was 16! We can’t wait to get back out there and start sharing music again. So keep hold of your tickets cos it’s gonna be insane. See you then. Much love, Sam x

The thirteen dates have all sold out since going on sale in September last year, following the release of Fender’s debut album. ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ reached number 1 on the UK Albums Chart and gained millions of streams. With nine of the thirteen tracks coming out as singles, Fender created a music video for each, as well as a short video to showcase the making of the album. The first few songs take on a socio-political theme, which mirror his experiences with toxic masculinity and white privilege, while the other tracks address his friendships, love life, and more personal endeavours.

Sam Fender has been sharing his music for years after being noticed performing in a pub in his hometown, and is now signed to Polydor Records. Winning the Critic’s Choice Award at the 2018 Brit Awards, his fast-growing fanbase have supported him throughout his career, even after he experienced vocal damage in 2019 due to overuse while on tour. Now rested and healed, the 26-year-old is excited to play live again.
