OASIS to launch pop-up stores in the UK and Ireland ahead of reunion tour

Oasis formed back in 1991 in Manchester, releasing their debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ in 1994, which became one of the fastest-selling debut albums in the UK at the time. It has also recently returned to the top UK album charts, celebrating 30 years. Oasis has released seven albums with eight UK number one singles, including songs ‘Some Might Say’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘All Around The World’, and ‘Go Let It Out’. The band’s other well-known albums are ‘Be Here Now’, ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’, ‘Heathen Chemistry’, ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’, and their most popular album, ‘Morning Glory’ which is the fifth best-selling album of all time in the UK. ‘Morning Glory’ includes their massive hit ‘Wonderwall’, their number one most popular song on Spotify.   

The band has remastered their songs and is reuniting for their world tour ‘Oasis Live ‘25’. The tour will journey back to the beginning of their career with dedicated fans, including a mix of their biggest hits, fan favorites, with songs across different albums. Oasis will kick off their tour this summer in the UK and Ireland with shows in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, before heading to Canada and North America, where they will perform in Toronto, Los Angeles, New Jersey, and Chicago. The band plans to return to London for two more nights in September and will continue in Japan, Australia, Argentina, and end in Brazil.

The pop-up stores will bring fans together and continue the excitement of the band’s reunion. Manchester’s pop-up shop will be at The Avenue, Spinningfields. You can find tickets to get into the stores here.

Lipa has detailed the experiences available at the pop-up store, using ultra-high resolution spatial audio from L-Acoustics to provide an unmissable immersive experience of her music for fans. The store is set to open on 19- 22 June at London’s Protein Studios from 12 to 6pm ahead of her sold-out Wembley gigs this summer during the Radical Optimism tour.

The tour comes after the release of Lipa’s latest album ‘Radical Optimism’ last May, an 11-track record of feel-good dance-pop. The artist spoke with Variety about her inspirations for this album, sharing that she was inspired by Britpop artist Oasis and trip-hop band Massive Attack.

She goes on to talk about her most powerfully optimistic track on the album ‘Illusion’, where she realised the ailments of a past relationship, sharing “But I felt in a stronger power of position, because I was like maybe before, I would have fallen for something like this and now I can dance with the illusion,”.

Fans have been amazed by her shows from the start of the tour, with impressive choreography and spellbinding performance. One fan who attended the first show in Madrid posted a recording of the electrifying concert.

The Albanian ‘One Kiss’ singer has embarked on several unique creative ambitions. With seven BRIT awards and three Grammy Awards, the singer has made her mark in music and ventured into other areas with the launch of her Service95 book club in 2022. The book club offers a monthly literary pick from the singer as well as video interviews from a range of authors including Max Porter, author of Grief Is The Thing With Feathers.

This month, Lipa announced the club’s expansion to a podcast format where these interviews will be available to listen to on Spotify. The first episode of the podcast featured Dua Lipa in conversation with author Jennifer Clement.

The shop will be located on London’s Carnaby Street and will open on September 28 and will remain open until January 2022. There will be a line-up of limited edition music releases, exciting fashion collaborations and lifestyle products with weekly new product drops and events.  Each month will have its own theme: Music, Art & Design and Magic, with visual installations that act as storytelling from each of Queen’s historic 5 decades.

The store will take visitors on a journey over 2 floors, from a 70s thrift store taking inspiration from a stall Freddie Roger once had in Kensington Market, iconic live performances and tours from the 80s, 90s record store, 00s DVD homage through to 2010s tech concepts.

The new store was created in partnership with Bravado, Universal Music Group’s merchandise and brand management company, featuring all of the hallmarks of the band.  There will also be an apparel collection with exclusive collaborations from many fashion brands including Champion, Wrangler, and Johnny Hoxton jewellery.

In a press release, Queen said “We are pleased to collaborate with Bravado on this project, which will be an exciting experience for everyone to come to London and enjoy. Carnaby Street was the perfect spot for the store to celebrate five decades.”

David Boyne, MD of merchandise company Bravado also added “We are delighted to announce this innovative partnership with Queen. The project will add another cultural moment to their rich legacy and will be a destination for fans to immerse themselves in the music, style and spirit of one of the world’s most iconic and beloved bands.”

As well as this Queen guitarist Brian May recently spoke recently about his potential plans for a new solo album. He told Goldmine of the possibility of making a new album stating “I think it probably would be instrumental this time. Because I have enough ideas. And I have lots of unfinished business.” The star also revealed earlier this month that Queen has also been in the studio working on new music but it hasn’t “hit the button in the right way” yet.
