English indie favourites Peace have announced their first headline UK tour since the group’s changing of its lineup.

The band have transitioned from a four piece group into a duo following the departure of guitarist Douglas Castle and drummer Dominic Boyce, leaving the group to be comprised solely of brothers Harrison and Samuel Koisser.

The tour is set to take place at the start of November, with the first show being at Komedia in Bath on the 3rd and the last at Heaven in London on the 14th, and will see Peace visit nine different venues in total, including the Town Hall in Birmingham, Oran Mor in Glasgow and the New Century Hall in Manchester.

The news follows last month’s announcing of the group’s return to music following a five year hiatus with a couple of comeback shows later next week, at the Mill in Birmingham on May 31st and at the Colour Factory in London on June 1st, with another show at the Louisiana in Bristol on May 29th being added due to extremely popular demand.

The announcing of these shows was then followed by the surprise digital release, on the band’s website, of their fourth album, Utopia, on April 8th. The album is available to those who purchase merch and tickets and receive a password, allowing them access to the website where their new music is located. The album itself has been met with favourable reviews from those fans who have enjoyed it thus far and is set to be officially released later this year. Listen to the new album here.

Peace were formed in Worcester in 2012 and released their debut album, In Love, in March 2013 on Columbia Records to widespread critical acclaim, with the album reaching number 16 on the UK Albums Chart. Their subsequent release came in February 2015, with the Britpop inspired Happy People achieving a chart high of 12.

Listen to “Wraith“, the lead single from Peace’s first album In Love, below:

Their third album, Kindness Is the New Rock and Roll, was released in May 2018 following a switch to Ignition Records and was too met with favourable reviews. Their latest release and the subsequent live shows, according to an instagram post by the band, marks the “entering of a new era in an extremely meaningful way“, surely whetting the appetites of Peace fans in the UK and beyond.

Indie-rock band Peace took to social media this week to announce their comeback, following a 5 year long hiatus.

The band announced a new album and new shows, writing, “You can listen to our new album in full right now on our cool new website peaceforeverever.co.uk.”

Catering to their dedicated fans, Peace announced that “The record will be commercially released later this year but for now this is how we’re going to share our music with the people that it means a lot to.”

Their comeback now sees the band return as a duo, with ex-members Doug Castle and Dom Boyce having “taken a different flight path and are soaring across different skies. But all with monstrously good vibes.”

Original members Harry and Sam Koisser are set to continue developing Peace’s musical journey. The pair wrote, “We are not replacing them and Peace is entering a new era in an extremely meaningful way.”

Peace announced 2 shows to mark their return and are set to perform in Birmingham and London to kickstart their new era. The duo wrote, “These shows mark the explosion of a newer universe. A 2nd big bang.” Addressing their fans via social media again, they also wrote, “Thank you for accompanying us. We are in the unknownness.
This year marks the 10 year anniversary of the Peace’s critically acclaimed debut album, In Love, reaching No.16 in the UK Albums Chart.

Following In Love and their 2015 album release, Happy People, Peace vanished for 3 years before releasing Kindness Is The New Rock and Roll. Speaking to Far Out Magazine about their break, frontman Harry Koisser said, “It was a slow process coming back and doing shows, all of our equipment was broken, we bought a new guitar that didn’t work. It was fairly intuitive.”

Koisser shared that “some kind of fucked up shit” was involved in delaying their comeback, and the band ultimately went on hiatus from 2018 until now.

Teasing their comeback, the band also shared a snippet on Twitter, marking their first return to social media since 2020.

The Welsh melodic rockers have unveiled a new video for Peace, taken from upcoming album of the same name, due for release at the end of this month.

Peace is very much a classic Kids In Glass Houses track. Big poppy melodies, a dashing of post-hardcore before building up to a massive climax that would leave Ron Jeremy jealous. The video follows the story of a group of three people, two lads one lass. One’s romantically involved with the girl, while the other yearns to be. I think you can guess where this is going, but it all finishes a little bit heated.

It is the second single to be taken from Peace, following the release of Drive in June. Judging by the tracks that we’ve already heard, it can’t be too long before Kids In Glass Houses become the titans of Welsh rock, a fiercely competitive title.

Kids In Glass Houses go on a mammoth tour in support of Peace, which is released September 30th, this September and October. Dates are below.

September

Saturday 28th – Asylum, Birmingham

Sunday 29th – Peel, Kingston

October

Tuesday 1st – Concorde 2, Brighton

Wednesday 2nd – Electric Ballroom, London

Thursday 3rd – Great Hall, Cardiff

Friday 4th – Academy 2, Manchester

Saturday 5th – Garage, Glasgow

Sunday 6th – Warehouse, Newcastle

Tuesday 8th – Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth
