American indie rockers Parquet Courts have shared a video for their new single “Marathon of Anger” from their new album Sympathy For Life, which was released on October 22nd via Rough Trade Records. The band will be releasing visualisers for the rest of the album, culminating in a release entitled Sympathy For Life, Visualized. Furthermore, the group will be embarking on a series of tour dates in 2022, with some UK shows taking place in June. Check out the music video for “Marathon of Anger” down below.

The series of music videos was livestreamed earlier this year, with guest appearances from comedian Joe Pera and NBA legend Bill Walton. The other music videos will gradually be uploaded to YouTube from December 9th to December 16th. According to a press release, a live Q&A session with Parquet Courts’ bassist, Sean Yeaton will be broadcasted on the group’s YouTube channel ahead of the full release of Sympathy For Life, Visualized on December 19th.

The recent album was very well-received amongst both fans and critics, with The New York Times saying: “Parquet Courts’ music is propelled by the tension between the head and the hips, with the itchy lyricism of the vocalists Andrew Savage and Austin Brown providing a counterpoint to Sean Yeaton and Max Savage’s buoyant rhythm section.” The album is available on all streaming services, and physical media can be found here.

Parquet Courts will be taking Sympathy For Life on the road in 2022, firstly with a tour in North America, commencing on February 27th in Asheville, North Carolina, and will make their way to Europe and the UK in the months following. The band will be joined by Mdou Moctar, Hailu Mergia, Sun Ra Arkestra and Yu Su.
