Australian metalcore giants Parkway Drive have announced a UK/EU headline tour for 2022. The band will be accompanied by Sheffield metalcore outfit While She Sleeps. The tour will commence on September 9th, 2022 in Leipzig, Germany, and will end on October 3rd at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena. Prior to the announcement, Parkway Drive had originally scheduled these shows for April 2020 but was forced to reschedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The band has stated that any tickets purchased for the original tour would be valid for the rescheduled shows, with the unfortunate exception of the London show due to a venue change.

Tickets on sale Friday at 11am CET / 10am GMT. https://t.co/tgA9MEszD4 pic.twitter.com/dmcSdvIQ2N

Parkway Drive has faced numerous touring issues in recent months, unfortunately having to cancel a North American tour in September with Hatebreed, after attempting to reschedule numerous times. The band issued a statement on the matter, saying; “To our US and Canadian friends, our North American tour is officially canceled, after trying to reschedule multiple times. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. The good news is that we’re currently working on a new tour that we’re excited to tell you about very soon. It goes without saying that we wish the situation was different but we’re doing everything in our power to get back over there. See you all soon!”

Hailing originally from Byron Bay, New South Wales, Parkway Drive have been a household name in the metalcore genre since the early 2000s, initially finding success with their debut release Don’t Close Your Eyes, released in 2004. Following this, the band recorded their next full-length album Killing With A Smile (2006) with Killswitch Engage’s Adam Dutkiewicz, and its success allowed for the group to tour Europe and North America. The band has since released an additional five albums, Horizons (2009), Deep Blue (2010), Atlas (2012), Ire (2015) and Reverence (2018). With their last two releases, Parkway Drive has switched up their sound somewhat, adopting clear influences from nu-metal and incorporating it with their established metalcore style. The band’s entire musical catalogue is available on all streaming services.

The band has not announced that any new music has been recorded, however, in an interview with Music Feeds, vocalist Winston McCall stated that the band has “written the majority” of the next Parkway Drive album.

The UK leg of Parkway Drive’s upcoming tour will begin on September 30th in London. Tickets can be purchased here, and the dates are listed down below.

Foals, Disclosure, Parkway Drive, Imagine Dragons and Nothing But Thieves are among the most recently announced acts to co-headline at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival, it has been confirmed. This follows the announcement that Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining the musical extravaganza, joined by The 1975, Courteeners, Twenty One Pilots and Eagles of Death Metal.

Parkway Drive’s Winston McCall told Kerrang,

“Leeds and Reading has such a crazy reputation worldwide – we are so stoked to be part of it this year. It seems like every year the bar gets raised higher and higher and we are looking forward to upping it once again! BRING IT!”

Meanwhile Foals stated,

“We’re absolutely buzzing to be headlining Reading & Leeds this year. It’s a dream come true. I used to watch Nirvana live at Reading ’92 on VHS repeatedly while dyeing my hair blue and learning how to play guitar, badly.

We’ve worked our way up on our own terms and to be given the chance to headline one of world’s most iconic festivals is a huge achievement for us and hopefully a sign for all bands, that, if you stick to your guns and focus on what matters, you’ll get there and smash it. Onwards and upwards, friends. Long live the guitar band!”

The festival kicks off on August 26th 2016 and continues until August 28th, with weekend camping tickets priced at £213. Last year’s Reading & Leeds Festival 2015 saw the appearance of festival favourites including Metallica, Mumford & Sons and The Libertines, and with this year’s line up announcements not yet complete, festival-goers are expecting to be treated to an extensive list of musical talent in August.
