The first wave of acts has been announced for Manchester’s Parklife 2020. Tyler The Creator has been billed to headline the UK’s largest metropolitan festival. It also marks his first-ever solo UK show outside of London.

Supporting him in headlining roles will be grime icon Skepta and Scottish artist Lewis Capaldi. JME was also recently confirmed for the festival, bringing his Grime MC FM project to Manchester.

Other acts include Robyn, Jorja Smith, Giggs, Fatboy Slim, Khalid, and AJ Tracey. It is anticipated that 160,000 fans will be in attendance for the two-day event. It will run from June 14-15, celebrating its eleventh year.

A limited presale of tickets will be going on sale at 10 am GMT tomorrow (January 29). General sale will be at the same time on January 30.

The team behind Parklife 2020, are also the brains behind Manchester’s Warehouse Project, which last year moved to the Mayfield Depot, a disused railway station opposite Piccadilly. It can hold a capacity of 10,000 people, following runs at Boddington’s Brewery, Victoria Warehouse, and recently, on Store Street.

The event hosted major names including Fatboy Slim and Aphex Twin. Others billed included Skepta, Flume, Nina Kravitz and Disclosure.

Most recently, Lewis Capaldi was mistaken for a seat filler at Sunday’s Grammys. Hosted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, he wrote on Twitter: “A lady at the grammys has just come up and offered to take my seat because she thought I was one of the people who sits in the chairs to fill them when someone gets up to use the bathroom,”

He added the hashtag #GRAMMYS.

The Scottish songwriter and comedian had been nominated, (along with his songwriting team) for his hit song, ‘Someone You Loved’ under the Song Of The Year Category.

However, Capaldi and his team lost out on the night to Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’.

Check out the tweet from Lewis Capaldi below:
