Formed in Byron Bay in 2014, the band: Louie Swain, Patrick Hetherington, Noah Hill, Anatole Serret, and Jules Crommelin, relocated to Berlin shortly after, and have over time built a sound that weaves together disco, soul, funk and modern electro-pop. Their previous album, ‘Day/Night’ (2021), underlined their capacity for lush production, warm harmonies, and danceable grooves. ‘LOVED’ promises both continuity and evolution.

After a six-month hiatus in early 2023, Parcels reconvened and took a nomadic approach to writing and recording LOVED. Studios in Berlin, Byron Bay, Sydney, Oaxaca, and Mexico City all hosted the band when recording this album.

The record has 12 tracks, including singles: “Sorry,” ‘Yougotmefeeling’ ‘Summerinlove’ and Iwanttobeyourlightagain’.

Full Tracklist:

Tobeloved

Ifyoucall

Safeandsound

Sorry

Yougotmefeeling

Leaves

Everybodyelse

Summerinlove

Leaveyourlove

Thinkaboutit

Finallyover

Iwanttobeyourlightagain

‘Sorry’ is one of the singles that stands out for its mix of honesty and ambiguity. It blends gentle nylon guitars with lyrics that feel at times heartfelt and at other times distant, making it one of the more complex songs Parcels have released. Other tracks like ‘Safeandsound’ and ‘Finallyover’ don’t have that same ambiguity, they have an obviously hopeful sound.

‘LOVED’ shows slight growth on Parcels’ behalf. Instead of chasing a perfect, shiny sound, they lean into vulnerability and slight imperfections. This does give the music a slightly more human feel. The album still has the band’s trademark groove, but it also goes deeper; it’s as reflective as it is danceable.

Parcels are gearing up for a big tour following the release of ‘LOVED’. They kick off in late September 2025 with shows across Europe, starting in Düsseldorf on September 25, then in Amsterdam, London (including a date at OVO Arena Wembley), Berlin, Brussels, and Paris. In October, they’ll take the tour to North America with stops including New York, Boston, Washington DC and Nashville. They’ll finish out the year with shows in Australia, including performances in Brisbane and two nights in Sydney.

Tickets and more information regarding the tour are available here.

The band, who formed in Byron Bay in 2014 but is now based in Berlin, boasts a line up of keyboardist Louie Swain, keyboardist/guitarist Patrick Hetherington, bassist Noah Hill, drummer Anatole “Toto” Serret, and guitarist Jules Crommelin. They’re best known for their 2018 single ‘Tieduprightnow’ which led their eponymous album of the same year. It has accumulated over 200 million listens on Spotify to date.

The OVO arena, which is the second largest indoor arena in London at 12,500, is a behemoth to the Mitsubishi Electric Halle, in Düsseldorf where the band is kicking off their tour, which has a comparative capacity of 7,500. Wembley marks a middle ground in the midpoint of the tour in comparison to the 17,000 person capacity of the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam. This all comes in the wake of a sold-out performance at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado earlier this year.

As they take to the stage in London they will be following in the footsteps of musical legends such as Queen, David Bowie and Madonna. Their most recent record releases have been live albums and live sets are frequently available on their youtube and website. Their music has been deeply influenced by their move from Australia to Berlin and the influence of said move is best heard in their album ‘Live vol.2’ It’s clear that they are a band who seriously value live performance for growing with and connecting to their audience. The album marks a distinct shift away from the previous sound of their studio albums by infusing the indie pop of their earlier work with a hint of Berlin techno edge.

They demonstrated the possibilities of this sonic expansion in the release of the EP ‘Leaveyourlove’ which contains the single and six collaborative editions of the song created with some of the band’s favourite musicians. The collaborations mark a studio based exploration that resembles the work from the live albums, as each track on the exhibition

With the possibility of more new music on the horizon it could be that the band will have some shake ups to their established recorded set by this time next year. The band will be launching into this European Tour off the back of a summer on the road.

Highlights of next year include being signed on to perform at a series of international festivals including Coachella alongside the likes of Irish language hip hop trio Kneecap and indie pop darlings The Marias.

All Points East have announced the remainder of the lineup for those due on stage during Friday’s festivities, with Parcels, Tune-Yards and more newbies freshly added to the bill.

The American band The National are due to headline Victoria Park on August 26, with the likes of Fleet Foxes, Lucy Dacus, Kurt Vile and more already confirmed to support them. Always gifted with a brilliant lineup for those that enjoy slightly left leaning artists with a pop edge, All Points East has been going since the summer of 2018 and is an annual festival that enjoys 10 days of events. These 10 days comprise of 1 festival weekend, 4 free entry days with community activities known as “In The Neighbourhood”, and finally 3 standalone headline shows as part of the “All Points East Presents” series. This years APE Presents is sponsored by Ray-Ban and has already hosted London’s own Sherelle back on May 26th at Colour Factory, Kenny Beats at Koko on June 9th, with Self Esteem due to close out the series in style at EartH Hackney on July 14th.

So excited to join The National on this amazing line up for @allpointseastuk in Victoria Park, London on Fri 26 Aug! https://t.co/Ra1Ujr1ozf pic.twitter.com/fcQxev47RY

Irish indie folk band Villagers are also new additions to Friday’s bill for those looking to be hypnotised by Conor J O’Brien’s cunning lyricism and effortlessly crafted melody. Or in a similar vain there is of course the beautiful and timeless folk of Fleet Foxes to satisfy your rootsy yearnings. New inclusions Parcels are around to get you dancing with their disco inspired indie tunes, and Kurt Vile and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard there to bring the grit for those after something a little heavier and psychedelic. There really is something for everyone at All Points East, having been last year and been blown away by Loyle Carner to then walk around the corner and be put in a trance by the chic chill of Lianne La Lavas, it’s eclecticism is it’s greatest strength.

The full lineup for Friday has now been confirmed as The National, Fleet Foxes, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Kurt Vile, Perfume Genius, Parcels, Low, Lucy Dacus, Villagers, Tune Yards, Rae Morris, Valerie June, Balthazar, Dehd, Cassandra Jenkins, and Bess Atwell.

Other headline sets across the two weekends in August will come from Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Tame Impala, Kraftwerk, The Chemical Brothers, Disclosure and Gorillaz. A truly mouthwatering array of global talent that I’m sure anyone will be able to find something or someone they like in. You can grab your tickets here.

The festival will take place between 6th-9th July 2022. After two cancellations, including this year, music fans will again flock to the festival’s location Passeio Marítimo de Algés in Portgual.

The latest acts to be confirmed include English indie rockers Alt-J and Two Door Cinema Club, both acts were previously announced within the 2021 line-up and will be honouring their billing within the 2022 event. Ticket holders will get to see Mercury Prize winners Alt-J perform on the second day, 7th July 2022. The group bagged the award in 2012 for their debut album ‘An Awesome Wave’. Irish rockers and NME award nominees, Two Door Cinema Club are set to perform on the event’s last day, 9th July 2022.

Also included within the recent line-up announcement was singer St. Vincent. The Grammy award winner will perform on the Sagres Stage and her set will be on the festival’s third day, 8th July 2022. Ticketholders will be treated to the singer’s classics as well as material from her newest album ‘Daddy’s Home’, released 14th May 2021. The artist known as Annie Erin Clark won the Grammy for Best Alternative Album for her 2014 album ‘St. Vincent’. Accelerating her accolade further, St. Vincent was the first woman to win the award in 20 years. Before her 2015 win, the last female to win the category was Sinead O’Connor in 1991 with her second album ‘I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got’.

The festival, which was once ranked within the top 12 European festivals by NME, has been running for over 14 years. NOS Alive was first organised under the different name of Oeiras Alive! The next year, the festival’s name changed again to Optimus Alive!, the 2008 event saw a range of headline acts, Rage Against the Machine, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. The festival was named its current title of NOS Alive in 2014 and premiered the new name with a superb headline list of Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys and Indie darlings The Libertines. The event’s name is seemingly taken from the festival’s main sponsor, the telecommunications company NOS, which was also previously named Optimus

The full line-up includes Alt-J, Caribou, Da Wesel, Dino D’Santiago, Faith No More, Hobo Johnson, Imagine Dragons, Inhaler, Metallica, Manel Cruz, Parcels, Parov Stelar, Phoebe Bridgers, Royal Blood, St. Vincent, Seasick Steve, Tom Misch, The Lovemakers and Two Door Cinema Club.
