For Radiohead fans, there’s some good news. Radiohead has announced they’ll be sharing various classic live concerts during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Radiohead posted on Instagram of their intentions to release weekly shows on Youtube “until either the restrictions resulting from [the] current situation are eased, or we run out of shows.”

They further teased: “Which will be first? No-one knows,” 

The live concerts begin today from April 9, at 10 pm tonight, premiering a performance some twenty years ago, ‘Live From a Tent In Dublin’, from Punchestown Racecourse. Head over at the link here tonight for the stream.

From their Instagram post, they said: “Now that you have no choice whether or not you fancy a quiet night in, we hereby present the first of several LIVE SHOWS from the Radiohead Public Library now coming to Radiohead’s YouTube channel.”

Above the lengthy caption is a clip of ‘The National Anthem’.

Radiohead recently uploaded their complete discography onto Youtube. It came after Billboard announced they’d be counting Youtube streams in a bid to determine chart positions.

Everything produced by the band from their debut ‘Pablo Honey’ through to their most recent album, ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ has been added, found at the link here.

According to the Reddit forum r/radiohead, the band’s complete catalog up to ‘Hail to the Thief’ includes a published timestamp of 2016. YouTube, however, has labeled every playlist as “updated yesterday”, (Dec 18).

Billboard announced last week that audio and visual data from Youtube, as well as visual plays from a number of music streaming services, would be added into the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Furthermore, officially licensed video content plays from Apple, Spotify, Tidal, and Vevo will be factored into the album chart’s numbers.

Thom Yorke was last week named as a nominee for Best Original Song at the 92nd Academy Awards. He is being considered for his song, ‘Daily Battles’ from Motherless Brooklyn. Other nominees include Beyonce for her song ‘Spirit’, lifted from The Lion King.

Further considerations for the award include Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo’s ‘Letter to My Godfather’ (The Black Godfather), Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s ‘(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again’, (Rocketman), and Toy Story 4’s ‘I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away’ by Randy Newman.

Radiohead are best known for hits including ‘Paranoid Android‘, ‘Creep’ and their iconic album ‘OK Computer’, described by Rolling Stone as “a stunning art-rock tour de force”.

Guitarist Ed O’Brien released his new single ‘Brasil’, on December 5. He revealed the details of the track in an Instagram post, depicting a handwritten Christmas card. He also announced in the card that a second single would be arriving in early 2020.

He shared his inspirations behind the song, saying, “The story starts post the ‘King Of Limbs’ tour in 2012 when me and my family moved out to Brasil. We had a truly profound experience living in that extraordinary country,” 

O’Brien further revealed that ‘Brasil’ had been produced “by my mate, the sonic maestro known as Flood.”
