Oasis have already played 17 shows out of a total of 41. They played in Dublin last weekend at Croke Park, and will head to North America before returning to the UK next month for more dates at Wembley Stadium.

This tour marks a huge moment for the brothers as they have had a rocky relationship over the past few years, including being involved in multiple public arguments and fights, which is what led to Oasis splitting up in 2009, but now they are reunited on stage.

Noel Gallagher has praised his brother in an interview with TalkSport where he said, “Liam’s smashing it and I’m proud of him.” He also described the feeling of being back in the band with Liam as great and forgot “how funny he was.”

So far on the tour, Oasis have sold out five nights at Wembley Stadium and five nights at Heaton Park. They have also sold out many other venues, resulting in almost one million tickets being bought, which has left the singers speechless.

Noel described his shock of how well the tour has done by saying, “It’s been truly amazing, I’m not usually short for words, but I can’t really articulate it at the moment.”

The singer-songwriter admitted that his legs “turned to jelly” during the first show in Cardiff back in July. He said that after about five minutes of the show, he wanted to go back into the dressing room and start again.

The concerts so far have had many memorable moments, including a marriage proposal at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. The band also dedicated their song ‘Stand By Me’ to their mother Peggy who was watching them in Dublin.

Oasis have had many famous faces go see them, including Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who got his own shout out, as well as Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney.

Oasis will next be in Canada, USA and Mexico later into this month and September before returning back to the UK for two shows at Wembley Stadium on September 27 and 28. The tour will then finish on November 23 in Brazil after visiting Argentina, Japan, Australia and more.

Gallagher is most looking forward to playing in Argentina at River Plate Stadium as he described it as “a special, special, special place for us.”

It’s the second to last show on the tour and Argentina is “in the top five places” for Oasis to play in the world and it’s the furthest place away from Ireland and Manchester.

McCarroll played drums on the entirety of the britpop legends debut album, ‘Definitely Maybe’ as well as two singles, ‘Whatever’ and ‘Some Might Say’, before being sacked by the band in 1995.

Despite a tumultuous relationship with the band, especially Noel Gallagher, which included an £18 million lawsuit in 1999, the former drummer has shared just what it meant to be a part of Oasis in a heartfelt message on his Instagram.

Writing to his 20,000 followers, McCarroll said “Oasis captured the time and minds of the people; we were the same as them, and they felt it. The connection.

“Over the last year or two, I’ve noticed something new in the gig and QnA crowds… youth. The circle has started again lads. A new generation ready to start a journey of listening.”

The excitement continues to build for fans of the “Live Forever” rockers, as many took to social media over the weekend to share their gratitude to Tony McCarroll, as well as hoping for an appearance from him over the summer.

Reddit user ‘The_Bart_The_604’ stated “Just for one day, just for one song I wish everyone could put the past aside and play on the same stage together like it was in the beginning.”

This sentiment is shared by many online, hoping to see both McCarroll and original bassist, Paul ‘Guigsy’ Mcguigan, make at least a one-off appearance during the tour.

Speculation has been rife ever since the tour announcement last summer, with all sorts of rumours circulating including a documentary film to chronicle the historic tour, and even murmurs of new music being worked on. Despite the constant murmuring and rumours, both brothers have been relatively radio silent ever since their return was announced, apart from the odd non-sensical Liam Gallagher tweet, of course.

But we recently heard from Noel speaking about the ticket pricing controversy for the first time, speaking to photographer, Kevin Cummins, Noel said: “I though it’d be a big deal, but I was a bit taken aback by just how much of a big deal it was.”

This was in response to the anger towards the band for the use of ‘dynamic’ pricing which led to hugely inflated ticket prices.

What would an Oasis tour be without it’s fair share of controversy though? The Mancunians are now less than 100 days away from reuniting on stage for the first time since 2009, as excitement continues to build.

The move is reportedly an attempt to control the film’s direction, as they also did with 2021’s ‘Oasis Knebworth 1996’. That previous documentary was released under their still-existing company, Kosmic Kyte Ltd, which also lists co-manager Kyle McKinley as a person officer. Uprise North Ltd lists only the two brothers as officers, suggesting more control, or a change behind the scenes.

The Sun secured exclusive quotes from a source close to the situation, who claimed that streaming giants had expressed an interest in acquiring the rights to produce a documentary on the same subject. “They had endless offers from companies wanting to make and distribute their ­comeback film but by opening this new company, they appear to be taking total control”.  

Neither Gallagher has addressed the speculation head-on, however Liam has responded to fans on X. Responding to a question about an upcoming documentary ending up on Netflix, the singer said, “We’re not doing one.” Some took this as a cryptic message, hinting at more than one film or documentary in the works.  

The Oasis Live ‘25 tour was announced last year, and will see the band perform 41 confirmed shows worldwide. Among the tour dates are seven nights at Wembley Arena, and five more at Manchester’s Heaton Park. Even with multiple dates in the US, Australia, and more around the globe, the tour is dwarfed in scale by their previous tours supporting the albums ‘Definitely Maybe’ and ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’, which saw them perform 142 and 101 shows, respectively. Despite this, the 2025 shows will have an unprecedented cultural significance considering fans had been crying out for a reunion for 15 years.

The tour announcement hasn’t been without its issues, however. From the infamous dynamic pricing debacle, which led to accusations of price gouging, and more recently, an automated system mistakenly labelling genuine fans as bots, and refunding them their hard-earned tickets.

As fans on the r/Oasis subreddit pointed out, reunion documentaries are nothing new, and live albums often follow. Blur’s 2023 reunion saw them perform two shows at Wembley, with footage used in a documentary, and a live album released a year later. 

Though nothing is confirmed, the Companies House website records clearly show that something is happening. As The Sun’s source put it, “Noel and Liam set the narrative from the start on their comeback, and they want to be in control of whatever ­happens during and after the shows. It has been a very long time coming, and they do not want to disappoint.”

A spokesperson for Ticketmaster has addressed the issue, saying: “Anyone who has been contacted and believes a refund was made in error has been sent a form to fill in for the tour’s promoters to review.” However, fans going through the form to appeal their refund and get their tickets back encountered issues with error messages, leaving them to contact customer support again.

X user, ‘@lostinmusic72’, posted a screenshot of the email from Ticketmaster, informing them of the decision to refund the ticket. The ticketing platform claimed that the refund had been requested by the band’s tour promoter, and that they had violated the conditions under which the tickets were purchased. The same X user had gone through the presale process, which required customers to correctly answer a question about the first Oasis drummer and should have further proven that they were not a bot.

The 2025 tour is being promoted by SJM concerts and Live Nation, with the latter also being the owner of Ticketmaster. Prices for the shows started at around £150, but due to dynamic pricing, some fans were being charged upwards of £350 for the same tickets. The public backlash has led to calls for further transparency in ticket pricing, with the original price and dynamic price being displayed side by side, as well as the government planning a consultation for autumn.   

Oasis issued a statement on the issue, saying: “”When unprecedented ticket demand is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans.” The band would later confirm that the same pricing model wouldn’t be applied to the North American leg of the tour, as well as distancing themselves from the decision. “It needs to be made clear that Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management.”  The band also changed the ticketing policy for their subsequently announced Wembley shows, opting for a staggered approach instead.

Despite the backlash and Ticketmaster’s central role, some online defend the platform, arguing that it only provides the feature as an option rather than enforcing it. A report by The Sun found that dynamic pricing adjusts costs based on demand, creating an uncertainty in the customer. Sir Chris Bryant, Minister for Creative Industries, said that uncertainty pressures fans into panic-buying, fearful of missing out.  

The panic spread across to Reddit too, with the subreddit r/Oasis being flooded with anxious fans checking their emails, hoping not to receive an email with a refund confirmation. The subreddit also saw criticism aimed at Ticketmaster for acting so late, suggesting that anybody using bots would have bought the tickets and sold them on by now, with real fans being the ones missing out.

Oasis, their management, or their promoters have yet to comment on the issue. Fans who until this week thought they would be attending this once-in-a-lifetime experience, were falsely accused of being ‘bots’ and forced to request a reissue of their ticket through an error-prone online form. With a summer of shows and festivals around the corner, the government’s autumn consultation may not come soon enough.

Originally, the reunion tour of Oasis was supposed to contain a few stops over the UK, but due to extreme demand extra dates were added and the tour now spans 41 dates over the UK, North America, South America, Australia, Japan and South Korea. The upcoming tour has sold out worldwide. In September, after the release of a special edition to celebrate the record’s 30th birthday, Oasis’s most popular album “Definitely Maybe” returned to UK charts and achieved once again the number one position. Released in 1994, the album has charted in the UK for 570 weeks. Oasis have, three decades after their debut, achieved eight records and eight songs in the number one position in the UK. Overall, all of their albums combined have charted for 1742 weeks.

According to a research by Official Charts, the most streamed song released by Oasis in the UK is “Wonderwall”, released in 1995, which peaked at number two in the UK but currently has almost 400 million streams. It is followed by “Don’t Look Back In Anger”, released in 1996, which peaked at number one. Their third most streamed song is “Champagne Supernova” with over 167 million streams.

According to Google, right after Oasis the second most searched for artist is Sabrina Carpenter, who has topped charts for most of the year with her album “Short n Sweet” and three number one singles in the UK. The third spot for most searched for goes to One Direction, following the death of band member Liam Payne. After them is Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, who has been a hot topics in worldwide tabloids after alleged adulterous behavior. Finally, the fifth position for most searched for artist goes to up and coming artist RAYE who, earlier this year, took home six BRITs wins (including best album).
