A guitar used by Oasis’s Noel Gallagher while writing second album, 1995’s ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’, is due to go on auction for the first time at Sotheby’s in New York. The Epiphone EJ-200 acoustic guitar is estimated to sell for just shy of £60,000.

While the Gallagher brothers and Oasis had already broken through with debut ‘Definitely Maybe’ in 1994, which brought with it singles like ‘Supersonic’, ‘Shakermaker’ and ‘Live Forever’, their legendary status was sealed with follow-up ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’. The album released at the height of their britpop rivalry with Blur, selling over 22 million copies since 1995, making it the best-selling British album of the 90s. It features the Manchester rock group’s biggest hits, including acoustic anthem ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, and ‘Champagne Supernova’.

Following Noel’s departure in 2009 which led to Oasis’ split, he had a high-profile feud with brother Liam until they confirmed they had reunited in 2024 and announced tour dates the following year. Their 2025 world tour became a monumental event, shifting over 2 million tickets and taking in nearly £398 million, while boosting the profile of the band and their music higher than ever before. If ever there was a good time to sell a piece of the band’s history, it might be now.

Noel’s Epiphone EJ-200 acoustic guitar is signed by him, and was used in the famous 15-day writing and recording process of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’, coming with a certificate of authenticity to prove it. The story goes that Gallagher gave it to a member of their road crew, who then sold it onto the current owner who is putting it on auction. The owner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, is described by Sotheby’s New York pop culture specialist Craig Inciardi as “a huge Oasis fan. He was in the social circles of people who were around the band at the time.”

The guitar is listed in Sotheby’s Rock & Pop Sale, alongside Gallagher’s Rickenbacker 12-string guitar, which he used for over 10 years with Oasis, and a hand-written manuscript lyric sheet for Oasis’s hit ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, their first single to feature Noel on lead vocals. Other lots going on auction include a unique floor tom drum owned by The Who’s Keith Moon, a travel bible belonging to Elvis Presley, as well as Presley’s Hagstrom electric guitar, which is anticipated to sell for between $1 million and $2 million. Noel Gallagher’s last guitar to go on auction was his custom Silver Sparkle Les Paul, which sold for over £226,000 in 2024.

Sotheby New York’s Rock & Pop Sale opens for bidding tomorrow, the 9th of April and running until the 23rd, with Noel Gallagher’s Epiphone guitar expected to go for between $60,000 (£45,000) and $80,000 (£60,000). If you don’t have that kind of cash lying around but want to live through Oasis’ history all the same, the band are also releasing memorabilia for the 2025 live tour, including a feature-length documentary with no release date, and a photo book which is up for pre-order and will release this May.

‘The Hitman’ Hatton who passed away last week, is one of Britain’s best ever boxing phenoms.

After defeating Kosta Tszyu in 2005, in a classic display of Mancunian grit and underdog tenacity, Hatton became an overnight sensation, unifying the belts at the time.

He never hid, with a record of 45 wins and just 3 losses, 2 of which came against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, commanding respect worldwide for taking on such feats.

After retirement, Hatton had been an incredible advocate for mental health, admitting he struggled with depression and addiction at stages after his career. This campaigning and vocality has led to huge steps in removing the stigmas around mental health struggles in boxing and sport as a whole.

Fellow Mancunian Noel Gallagher paid respect to his friend on TalkSport saying: “It is a real shame for his family, his kids and his grandkids. I was really gobsmacked by it. But he had an amazing career, and the night Liam and I carried his belts out in Vegas was one of the funniest nights ever. It was an honour for us to do that, but it was a funny night with him.” A ‘devastated’ Liam Gallagher paid tribute to Hatton on X too:

Absolutely devastated to hear the news about RICKY HATTON it was an absolute honour to know him and carry his belts RIP CHAMP LIVE FOREVER LG x — Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) September 14, 2025

Hatton was always a huge Oasis fan, he even let the brothers carry his belts during a walk on in a Las Vegas bout in 2007. The hitman recently enjoyed Oasis at Heaton Park courtesy of Noel even sharing the experience on his Instagram, calling it “The Bollocks”

He has even gone on record saying: “Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a world champion, support Man City, and listen to Oasis,”

According to The Sun, Oasis will pay tribute to Hatton at their penultimate Wembley gig later this month.

Noel capped his tribute calling Ricky Hatton ‘a lovely, lovely lad and a great mancunian.’

Noel Gallagher has created exclusive artwork which will be sold to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Two pieces will be going up for sale, with each of them being created by Gallagher during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The art, which has been reimagined as two new print editions, came from a place of boredom during the first lockdowns, with Gallagher stating: “These pieces are actually photographed images of my sons’ two bedroom doors that I started to sticker bomb due to boredom during the first few weeks of the Covid-19 lockdown in March and April 2020.”

The Oasis songwriter is a long-term ambassador for the UK charity and has been apart of many fundraisers in the past for them, including performing a cover of The Smiths ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’.

Both pieces of art will be exclusively sold on a new website created by fellow Teenage Cancer Trust ambassadors and artists, The Connor Brother. The two brothers created this new platform – called Sunday Is Boring – with the aim to “collaborate with artists and creatives who sit outside the conventional art world.”

Speaking about their partnership with the legendary Mancunian musician, the Connor Brother said: “We are delighted to be working with Noel again to raise much needed funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. As fathers and people whose lives have been directly affected by cancer, it is a cause that is very close to our hearts.”

The Head of Music and Entertainment at Teenage Cancer Trust, Jane Ashton, has stated her gratitude to both Noel Gallagher and The Connor Brother, saying: “We’re enormously grateful to our ambassadors Noel Gallagher and The Connor Brother for coming together on this special collaboration in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.

“This stunning limited-edition artwork not only raises vital funds but also shines a light on the needs of young people facing cancer.”

She continued: “Creative partnerships like this play a powerful role in helping us reach more young people with specialist care and support. We can’t thank Noel and The Connor Brothers enough for their generosity and commitment.”

CREDIT: Press

The first variation of the artwork will go on sale for £100 each, limited to 300 unsigned prints. The second version will be limited to 100 prints and will come hand-signed by Noel; these will be prices at £750 each with all proceeds going directly to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Both versions are on sale from today (September 18) at 5pm. Visit here for more information.

Speaking on BBC Radio Manchester’s Mad For Oasis show, Anaïs spoke about attending the first twelve shows before having to take a break from the gigs, saying: “I’m knackered, I don’t know how my dad and uncle do it when they’re actually working on stage every night.”

The 25 year-old daughter of Noel Gallagher – who was 9 years-old when Oasis originally split up in 2009 – then went on to speak about just how much she is enjoying the shows: “It’s been great. One of my friends said to me, ‘Are you not getting bored?’ And I’m like, I could never get bored of the shows, they’re just that good that I have an amazing time.”

She then went on to explain how the Poznan is usually the highlight of her night, seeing different friends each show taking part in the signature Manchester City FC fan move where the whole stadium turns their back, links arms with their neighbours and bounces up and down: “It’s so funny, every time I bring my friends, they’re like ‘What are we doing?’ And I’m just like, put your drinks down. They’re like ‘Why am I putting my drink down?’ I’m like, just you wait.”

Although it has been a mostly great time for both Anaïs and everyone in attendance, she did explain the one thing that she struggled with during the shows: “The only thing that’s quite draining about being on tour is the amount of people I need to talk to.

“I’m a good daughter, I’m a good host, so I want to make sure everybody’s in their seats and everybody’s got a drink and everybody knows where the fire exits are and like where they need to be and that kind of thing, but that can get a bit tiring after a while.”

Oasis have already played 17 shows out of a total of 41. They played in Dublin last weekend at Croke Park, and will head to North America before returning to the UK next month for more dates at Wembley Stadium.

This tour marks a huge moment for the brothers as they have had a rocky relationship over the past few years, including being involved in multiple public arguments and fights, which is what led to Oasis splitting up in 2009, but now they are reunited on stage.

Noel Gallagher has praised his brother in an interview with TalkSport where he said, “Liam’s smashing it and I’m proud of him.” He also described the feeling of being back in the band with Liam as great and forgot “how funny he was.”

So far on the tour, Oasis have sold out five nights at Wembley Stadium and five nights at Heaton Park. They have also sold out many other venues, resulting in almost one million tickets being bought, which has left the singers speechless.

Noel described his shock of how well the tour has done by saying, “It’s been truly amazing, I’m not usually short for words, but I can’t really articulate it at the moment.”

The singer-songwriter admitted that his legs “turned to jelly” during the first show in Cardiff back in July. He said that after about five minutes of the show, he wanted to go back into the dressing room and start again.

The concerts so far have had many memorable moments, including a marriage proposal at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. The band also dedicated their song ‘Stand By Me’ to their mother Peggy who was watching them in Dublin.

Oasis have had many famous faces go see them, including Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who got his own shout out, as well as Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney.

Oasis will next be in Canada, USA and Mexico later into this month and September before returning back to the UK for two shows at Wembley Stadium on September 27 and 28. The tour will then finish on November 23 in Brazil after visiting Argentina, Japan, Australia and more.

Gallagher is most looking forward to playing in Argentina at River Plate Stadium as he described it as “a special, special, special place for us.”

It’s the second to last show on the tour and Argentina is “in the top five places” for Oasis to play in the world and it’s the furthest place away from Ireland and Manchester.

The collaboration between Noel Gallagher and Mantra Of The Cosmos has now been released digitally and is available to stream.

News broke early this year of the new single between Gallagher and the supergroup – which consists of Happy Monday bandmates Shaun Ryder and Bez, as well as former Oasis members Zak Starkey and Andy Bell.

‘Domino Blues (Gets Dangerous)’ was originally released this January where it was only available to purchase physically in vinyl form from Liverpool’s Cavern Club. The six-minute long psychedelic tune consists of Noel providing vocals for the chorus, with Ryder singing on the verses.

This single is only the third song released by the supergroup, following on from ‘Gorilla Guerilla’ and ‘X (Wot You Sayin?)’.

The mastermind behind the group is former Oasis and The Who drummer, Zak Starkey. As the son of legendary Beatles member, Ringo Starr, releasing the single at the iconic Cavern Club – where The Beatles famously cut their teeth – must’ve been a proud moment for Starkey.

The group marked the release with two sold out shows at the storied Liverpool venue, with Starkey saying: “The Cavern Club gigs were amazing, as was the reaction to the vinyl release.

“Working with people like Noel, Shaun, Andy and Bez is always a pleasure – these are the greatest musicians of their generation. We have more singles coming this year with some VERY special guests – this is the year of the Mantra!”

Noel Gallagher emphasised his excitement of joining Starkey and co on the single, telling The Times: “It’s Dylan, Dali, Ginsberg and a bit of cosmic jibber-jabber. Add in Bez, who dances like Zak plays the drums and Andy Bell plays all things stringed, and you have it.”

Although Mantra Of The Cosmos have only released three songs to date, there is optimism that much more is to come from the supergroup.

Speaking in 2023, after the release of their first material, Shaun Ryder hinted at what they have locked in the vault, telling NME: “We’ve got a lot of material. If you want some songs that can go on for two and a half or three minutes, then I reckon we’ve got about 175 songs, haven’t we?”

You can check out the newly released music video for ‘Domino Blues (Gets Dangerous)’ below.

Gallagher is currently rehearsing for the massive Oasis tour coming up this summer. Although Mantra Of The Cosmos consists of two former members of the Britpop icons, only one of them will rejoin the Mancunian legends for the upcoming shows.

Andy Bell will play bass for Oasis, but Zak Starkey – who played drums between 2004 and 2009 for the band – will not join up with the Gallagher brothers. Former R.E.M drummer Joey Waronker will instead take on the job for the massive reunion.

Although disappointed to not receive the call, Starkey said he understood the decision, telling BBC Breakfast: “If you get a new drummer, you get comfortable, don’t you? You get comfortable with new musicians and I think that’s what’s happened and I’m alright with that.”

Oasis are kicking off their shows on July 4 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, before heading to Manchester and London and finally embarking on a sold-out worldwide tour.

It charts the year before the release of their iconic debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’, and is accompanied by reflections from Noel Gallagher.

His association with the magazine lasted for 25 years, and many of his previously published collections have centred around his time with that publication. These include books on Morrissey, The Fall, and New Order. His work has also been represented in various exhibitions over the years. Hailing from Manchester, much of his work has focussed on around bands from the North West, however he also documented Manchester City’s final season at Maine Road.

He also shared that he is still friends with the brothers, seeing Noel more often than Liam. Recalling their first planned shoot, the photographer described how a session in Amsterdam was cancelled after the band got into a fight with Chelsea fans on the ferry crossing.

They dared to be great, made the dreams we had real, and I will always remember those days with joy.” Cage the Elephant are the only other support band that has been announced so far, opening up nine shows on the tour’s North American leg.

The return of Bonehead has been well-received, though the choice of Joey Waronker as drummer has been met with mixed feelings. Fans had been expecting a returning drummer from a previous lineup, such as Tony McCarroll, Alan White, or Zak Starkey. Questions have been asked about Waronker’s style gelling with the Oasis sound, though he did play with Liam Gallagher and John Squire on their 2024 album and subsequent tour.

Given the excitement around the potential lineup for one of the summer’s biggest music events, fans were flocking to Liam Gallagher’s X page to ask the singer for more details. He stated that the band would start rehearsing their material in June, just a month before their tour kicks off in Cardiff. This will be the first time that Bonehead has played with Oasis since 1999, though he has remained close to Liam, performing with Beady Eye and joining him on various solo tours in the years since.

This has been a busy few weeks for Oasis fans, with lots to be excited about. It was revealed last week that the brothers had established a company with the purpose of developing a documentary of the upcoming tour. For now, though, the band remains quiet about both the lineup and the new business, refusing to confirm anything.

Neither Gallagher has addressed the speculation head-on, however Liam has responded to fans on X. Among the tour dates are seven nights at Wembley Arena, and five more at Manchester’s Heaton Park. Even with multiple dates in the US, Australia, and more around the globe, the tour is dwarfed in scale by their previous tours supporting the albums ‘Definitely Maybe’ and ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’, which saw them perform 142 and 101 shows, respectively. Despite this, the 2025 shows will have an unprecedented cultural significance considering fans had been crying out for a reunion for 15 years.

The tour announcement hasn’t been without its issues, however. From the infamous dynamic pricing debacle, which led to accusations of price gouging, and more recently, an automated system mistakenly labelling genuine fans as bots, and refunding them their hard-earned tickets.

As fans on the r/Oasis subreddit pointed out, reunion documentaries are nothing new, and live albums often follow.
Though nothing is confirmed, the Companies House website records clearly show that something is happening. As The Sun’s source put it, “Noel and Liam set the narrative from the start on their comeback, and they want to be in control of whatever happens during and after the shows.
Ever since Liam and Noel Gallagher announced they were reforming Oasis for a massive 2025 world tour, speculation has been swirling about who would join them in the new-look band. Now, Liam has finally put an end to the rumours—though his revelation is anything but expected.

In a move no one saw coming, he confirmed that former members Gem Archer, Bonehead, Andy Bell, and Zak Starkey will not be part of the reunion. Instead, the reformed Oasis will reportedly feature Peppa Pig on drums, Bert and Ernie on lead guitar and bass, and a character from ‘Fingerbobs‘ on keyboards. Naturally, Liam and Noel will be the centre of attention.

On a recent Twitter Post, Liam said: “Here we have it. Peppa Pig on drums, Bert n Ernie on lead guitar n bass, Fingerbobs on keyboard. Obv me n Rkid. Hope that clears everything up. Can’t wait to see you all. Who says RnR is dead? LG x”

The surreal lineup didn’t stop there. When a fan asked if Muppets icon Miss Piggy would be involved, Liam confirmed that she would be Oasis’ tour manager. And as for her long-time companion, Kermit the Frog? According to Liam, the beloved amphibian might have a more questionable role as the tour drug dealer. But one thing’s for sure—he knows how to keep fans talking.

The brothers will be undertaking a much awaited, completely sold out (and, crazy expensive) tour this year, after years of feuding between the two. In their statement announcing the tour, Oasis declared: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

However, the excitement quickly soured when ticket sales began last August, with fans expressing outrage over the use of “dynamic pricing.” Tickets, originally priced at £148, soared to as high as £355, causing backlash from those who had waited for hours in online queues. Ticketmaster’s pricing strategy was slammed as “scandalous” by many, adding a layer of frustration to an otherwise jubilant reunion.

Despite the ticketing controversy, the 2025 tour is expected to be a massive event for Oasis fans around the world. Here is the current tour dates, most of which have already sold out:
