The group’s creative process is rooted in atmosphere and emotion. Much of their early music was written in Joscha’s grandaunt’s old art-filled room, a space full of books, plants, and history. That environment influenced how they approach music today: treating each track as a setting that blends sound, design, and feeling.

Joscha and Finn first connected through piano lessons as kids. Encouraged by their teacher, they began writing songs for themselves and for friends. Over time, their sound grew and their audience expanded. By 2023, they had gone viral with their single ‘What Love Is’. The track, with its dreamy mix of disco, yacht-rock, and synth-pop, became a huge hit on Instagram and TikTok, appearing in over a million social media videos. This wave of attention introduced Zimmer90 to listeners around the world.

This year, Zimmer90 reached another milestone: their song ‘what a life’ was chosen for the Bose × NME C25 mixtape. The C25 project revives NME’s famous C-Series tapes from the 1980s and 1990s, which were known for spotlighting fresh talent before they broke big. Now reimagined in partnership with Bose, the C25 introduces 25 rising artists from around the world across different genres.

Zimmer90’s inclusion places them alongside a diverse group of international acts, showing how their dreamy indie-pop sound resonates far beyond Germany. NME described ‘what a life’ as a breezy, late-summer anthem that perfectly captures the mixtape’s vibe. For Zimmer90, being featured in C25 is more than just a nod of recognition, it’s a chance to reach new global audiences and stand shoulder to shoulder with other future stars.

With their debut album ‘Interior’ set for release in September 2025, Zimmer90’s inclusion in the C25 mixtape feels like the perfect bridge between their breakthrough moment and their next chapter. It’s both a celebration of how far they’ve come and a preview of the world they’re about to share with an even larger audience.

A partnership between NME and Bose revived the C-Series in March 2023, following its heyday in the 80s and 90s. Since then, C23 and C24 have spotlighted artists such as King Princess, Genesis Owusu, 070 Shake, Teddy Swims, Laufey, and Artemas. These two releases collectively amassed over 100 million streams across 22 tracks, exhibiting the series’ ability to reveal the best of what the underground music scene has to offer.

The first taste of C25 is ‘Summerinlove’, a breezy single from Australian funk band Parcels, released August 1, 2025. The track serves as both a standout on the mixtape and a preview for Parcels’ own upcoming third album, Loved, which drops September 12, a week before C25’s full launch. Speaking to ChannelX94, Guitarist Jules Crommelin describes ‘Summerinlove’ as a “slow jam” that’s “really smooth, well-recorded,” while bandmate Patrick Hetherington says it’s “very internal for all of us…personal and so deep”.

Alongside the audio release, the popular “On Tape” video series returns. This acclaimed format delivers one-take, 360° performances from C25’s artists, merging visual art with immersive analog feeling, a defining trademark of the partnership.

Bose × NME: C25 promises not just a mixtape, but a celebration of forward-thinking music. From Parcels’ mesmerising first single to the tactile quality of analog media and the cinematic flair of “On Tape,” C25 reinforces the C-Series’ reputation as a pillar of underground music.

Bose is also offering fans a chance to win a limited-edition C25 cassette, a cassette player, and a pair of QuietComfort headphones. The giveaway runs from August 1 to September 8, with winners contacted shortly afterward.

  Cummins was at one time the chief photographer of British music magazine, the NME, spending 10 years in that position. His association with the magazine lasted for 25 years, and many of his previously published collections have centred around his time with that publication. These include books on Morrissey, The Fall, and New Order. His work has also been represented in various exhibitions over the years. Hailing from Manchester, much of his work has focussed on around bands from the North West, however he also documented Manchester City’s final season at Maine Road.  

According to a press release quoted by the NME, the book captures the band’s evolution during “twelve months of seismic change that cemented the identity of Oasis.” The book explores the links between the band, and aspects of their image, such as fashion, football, and everything in between. The same press release referred to this as the “just-bought-at-Affleck’s Palace attainability of their look.”

The book features over 150 photographs, with over three-quarters of the included images previously unreleased. The book’s greatest moments are when the band are caught off-guard, with the candid reflections revealing the dynamics of a band that would become global superstars in less than a year. Photos included in a Daily Mail exclusive showed images of Liam Gallagher standing on chairs, and wearing shower caps, with the paper also reporting that the images focussed more on the younger Gallagher, rather than his older brother, Noel.  

Promoting the book, Cummins appeared on Robert Elms’ BBC Radio London slot on 22 March. Discussing various elements of the portfolio, Cummins explained how the photos came about. He was asked to photograph the band by their label, Creation Records, who thought they’d get along given their shared support of Manchester City. He also shared that he is still friends with the brothers, seeing Noel more often than Liam. Recalling their first planned shoot, the photographer described how a session in Amsterdam was cancelled after the band got into a fight with Chelsea fans on the ferry crossing.

The book also features commentary and insights from Noel Gallagher, whose present day reflections put those candid moments in context. In a promotional quote for the book, Gallagher said: “This book really brings those early years back to me. Kevin’s photographs captured us at the very beginning. This is a must-have book for every Oasis fan.”

Oasis: The Masterplan is on sale now with an RRP of £35, though it is available for less from various retailers. Fan responses to Cummins through his social media were positive, with one X user saying, “Some lovely snaps! Good job you had a camera on you!” With fewer than 100 days until Oasis kick off their reunion tour, this book is almost certain to build even more excitement.

The teaser offered above is in the form of an instrumental with some toned-down bass riff and a fragment of vocals but with no discernible lyrics, leaving us all in wonder. Frontman Caleb Followill announced the new track towards the end of the set, and this will mark their first new music since their 2021 LP When You See Yourself.  The band who are currently on tour in Mexico, Columbia, and Brazil this March and tickets are available at Songkick.

Kings Of Leon is a band that was formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1999. The band comprises brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill. Their early music was a blend of Southern/Garage rock with blues influences but has since evolved to include a variety of genres, creating a more alternative rock-based sound. They achieved success with nine Top Forty Singles and won two Brit Awards in 2008, and all three of the band’s albums, at the time, reached the top five of the UK Album Charts. And their third album, Because of the Times, reached number one. The release of Only by the Night in September of 2008 garnered them chart success in the United States, and the singles Sex on Fire, Use Somebody, and Notion all peaked at number one on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.

The new track Mustang will be released this Thursday. So if you are looking to use somebody to cheer you up, then tune in on Thursday to check out the new music. At this point, one can only speculate, but there is always they hope that a new album will follow along with, hopefully, a UK or European tour.

Studying at The Brit School, home to current creative talents such as Ella Eyre, Freya Ridings, Raye and countless more, Loyle Carner grew up in a nurturing musical environment. The artist started producing at the age of around 14 and built his network of musicians through home studio sessions. This collaborative way of working has led to popular names such as Jorja Smith, Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei.

 Aged 29, Loyle Carner has had a bright decade of inspiring young people and creatives through music (and food!) Nearly ten years ago, he was in London’s Old Street teaching kids with ADHD how to cook. Whilst speaking about his time working with the kids, his inspiring nature as a teacher and positive influence beams through “We had warnings from some of the parents that their kids might do this or that…but they’ve been brilliant. There has been no talking back, no aggression. Everyone is happy and learning.”

As well as this lesser-known talent, Benjamin has a shining skill for writing effortless lyrics in his music which captures the hearts of many. In 2018 he won the NME Award for Best British Solo Act, following his 2017 Mercury prize, for his debut album Yesterdays Gone

The humble artist has a talent for sending the ‘right’ message across. Whilst discussing rappers’ responsibility to portray a particular message, he says “I don’t think music necessarily needs to have a message BUT there is a responsibility that you carry with music as a songwriter or rapper…It’s frustrating when grown men are still talking about selling or doing drugs, shooting people, sleeping with women”

“Stuck In A Car With You” will feature on Twin Atlantic’s upcoming 7th studio album, the name of which is yet to be released. The band’s frontman Sam McTrusty is producing and engineering their new album, and whilst they are in the middle of finishing the LP, the singer has teased fans on what’s to come by stating in an interview with NME that “there are a thousand guitars on the record.”

Sam McTrusty said on the subject of returning to the band’s original pop-punk sound “We’ve put our original fans through a bit of a whirlwind, because every record we’ve made almost sounds like a different band”

“With this record, we wanted to make something for the fans, and the kids who first started this band, ‘Stuck In A Car With You’ is a no-nonsense, fast-paced rock song that shines a spotlight on the emotion behind it.”

McTrusty continued, “Since we released [2011’s] ‘Free’ and [2009’s] ‘Vivarium’, fans have basically been asking us to make those albums again. We’ve never been that excited by revisiting the past, but enough time has passed that it felt interesting to do.”

“‘Stuck In A Car With You’ feels like a return but also, we know so much more about crafting songs now that it still feels fresh.”

Alongside the announcement of their brand new single, Twin Atlantic are hitting the road later this year on an intimate UK tour. McTrusty told NME “Maybe it’s a pre-midlife crisis where we want to go back to our teens, touring in a van to places we don’t normally go, but we’re really excited. The shows are going to be fucking amazing and we’re going to give fans an unforgettable night. We’ve been doing this for a minute now and we know how to put on a show. We’re just going to come in and absolutely smash it.”

This is the third single taken from their newest album, Cuts & Bruises, released in February 2023. The album reached No.2 on the UK Albums Chart and No.1 on the Irish Albums Chart.

Speaking to NME about the inspiration behind the track, the band said, “Whilst on tour in America last year we were listening to a lot of music by some of the great American writers such as Bob Dylan, The Band, Bruce Springsteen etc. Listening to these artists while travelling on big open highways resonated with us and helped shape this song into making us sound more like a live band than we had before.”

Inhaler have reached new heights this year, supporting Arctic Monkeys on tour. Frontman Eli Hewson shared his thoughts with NME, saying, “It’s hard to not feel like a child when you’re around them.”

He continued, “It still isn’t really resonating that we’re doing it. But they’re the most lovely and welcoming guys, so we’ve just got to try and be the best band we can.”

Speaking on the band’s touring plans of their own, Hewson said, “It’s going to be a better show. It’s not just five lads on stage chancing their arm anymore; we actually have to step up and make it a real thing.”

Inhaler also spoke on their struggles around making their new album and found reassurance in watching Peter Jackson’s Get Back Beatles documentary.

Drummer Ryan McMahon said, “You’re watching the greatest band of all time and go through their own problems and their own struggles. You think, ‘That’s a perfect record – how could there be anything wrong with it?’, and then you see what their relationship was like. It gave us a sense that, though we were at loggerheads sometimes, we were all working on something that felt good and felt right.”

The band’s fanbase is certain to widen even further this year, as they are set to support Harry Styles on the UK and European legs of ‘Love On Tour.‘

Rina’s live dates act as support for her sophomore album, Hold The Girl which came out in September last year. Last week she shared her latest single from her album, “Eye For An Eye” from the John Wick: Chapter 4 soundtrack.

There are special guests that will accompany her on her four-month tour and those guests are Magdalena Bay, Empress Of, and Tom Rasmussen. Those headlining shows will have Sawayama’s packed festival circuit finally filled out. The festival circuit will also include appearances at Governors Ball, Bonnaroo Osehaga, Lollapalooza, and Life Is Beautiful.

As Rina will be one of the performers at Lollapalooza, there will be a lot of Asian artists that will perform on that day, namely: TXT, NewJeans, Beabadoobe, NIKI, The Rose and DPR Ian, among others. K-pop girl group, Aespa will also be performing at the Governors Ball Music Festival.

Rina recently made her acting debut in John Wick: Chapter 4 as Akira. She spoke to NME for the Big Red cover story last year about her role as Akira: “My team are all just shook by the idea that we even got offered John Wick, so I think… none of us really know what’s going to happen. We’re just like, ‘What does happen to people in movies?'”

In a four-star review, of the film, NME wrote: “Chapter 4 doesn’t exude the wheel-spinning cynicism for a forever franchise. Stahelski may traffic in excess, but at least he understands it: how choreography, performance and style can make over-the-top spectacle cohere into pleasurably overwhelming action fizz, rather than congealing into a sweaty special effects overload. He also gets that after 169 minutes, some degree of closure is appreciated. There may well be a John Wick: Chapter 5, but Chapter 4 still feels like a movie giving its all.”

Rina spoke to Sky News about her acting debut, “I actually have been doing self-tapes, when I’ve been sent a really great script and when I’ve got the time, and also when I have the energy because I hate doing them,” she says. “But I’ve been doing them for several years, and I’ve gotten quite close to getting several roles but I hadn’t landed anything.”

The dates follow last year’s Kings Of Leon’s UK arena tour, which included two shows at London’s O2 and is marked as the band’s first UK performances since headlining Reading and Leeds in 2018. A four-star review of When You See Yourself from NME wrote, “When You See Yourself see the Kings marry their interests old and new, finally embracing the mature, laid-back versions of themselves. As Caleb says, the pouty bad boys of yesteryear are long gone. It makes sense when you consider the band’s chronology: it was their fourth album, the moody Only By The Night that things skyrocketed for Kings Of Leon, with ubiquitous hits “Sex On Fire” and “Use Somebody” finally connecting with fans in the US. Now with record eight, they’ve bottled everything learned on the road in the three (slightly more underwhelming) albums since, while still reconnecting with the best parts of what made the world love these boisterous, unruly rockers in the first place.”

Ever since their debut in 2003, Kings Of Leon, Caleb (guitar/vocals), Nathan (drums), Jared (bass) and Matthew Followill (guitar) continue to thrive as a band with eight released studio albums: Youth And Young Manhood (2003), Aha Shake Heartbreak (2004), Because Of The Times (2007), Only By The Night (2008), Come Around Sundown (2010), Mechanical Bull (2013), WALLS (2016) and When You See Yourself (2021). Over 20 million albums have been sold and 40 million singles worldwide.

Quite noticeable for their blues riffs and enigmatic slurred vocals of their debut, nobody’s minds would have crossed the Kings as future arena-packing hitmakers. The brother and cousin bond continues to shape them throughout their journey and later metamorphosed from the Bayou Strokes to iconic Platinum chart-toppers.

Charli has now made waves with her decision to part with Atlantic Records, whom she signed a five album deal with at just 16 years old. The details of her new record deal have not yet been revealed, but Charli did tease fans with a glimpse of her “brand new recording contract” in her ‘In the Bag’ video for British Vogue.

Charli reveals that she has signed a two album deal, stating in the video “We’re in business!” Rumours subsequently began to circulate that she had signed with Dirty Hit, an independent label home to No Rome, Pale Waves and Charli’s boyfriend George Daniel’s band, The 1975.

Charli has previously worked with numerous artists signed with Dirty Hit, most recently teaming up with George Daniel to remix Caroline Polachek’s new single, ‘Welcome To My Island’, so it wasn’t surprising that fans thought she may have signed with Dirty Hit herself.

However, she quickly put these rumours to rest, replying to a fan on Twitter saying “i’m too expensive for them.”

Speaking to NME in October 2022, Charli revealed that she wasn’t sure about becoming an independent artist, saying, “I like not having to foot the bill for everything at the beginning, that’s quite scary. Especially when you want to do things on the kind of scale that I did on the last record. I’m still exploring, definitely.”

She concluded that, “there’s so many interesting options that would work for me.”

Charli’s latest album CRASH released in March 2022 debuted at No.1 on the UK Albums Chart, becoming her first album to top the chart. CRASH also became her highest charting album in the US to date, debuting at No.7 on the Billboard 200.

Following this success, Charli expressed her confusion surrounding the lack of recognition for female artists at the Brits, tweeting “i only came to speak the truth hunny.’

Despite her lack of nomination for Best Artist, Charli was later seen wearing a very on-brand tongue in cheek outfit, with a slogan t-shirt reading ‘REAL WINNER.’
